The procedure is based on the use of the absolute stability, through the circle criterion, and a linear matrix inequalities (LAI) formulation. The only treatment for CD is a strict, lifelong gluten-free diet. With a prevalence rate of about one in 100-133 people worldwide. Celiac disease is wide-spread across the globe. Unlike traditional allergies, which cause immediate reactions, gluten sensitivity is harder to pin down since it manifests gradually and in various forms like headaches, stomach cramps, bloating, anxiety, and depression. Due to complicated diagnosis procedure and lack of awareness, many cases are either misdiagnosed or not at all diagnosed in India and USA. In spite of high growth, gluten-free foods are facing problems to grain ground in Asian market, due to high price, lack of awareness about the products, large number of un-diagnosed cases and inefficient value chain for gluten-free products. One of the major issues in India and USA is very high prices of gluten-free foods as compared to regular food products. Globally, the market potential of gluten free products is estimated to be USD 4639.13 Million and USD 7594.43 Million in 2015 and 2020 respectively. The global gluten free food market is projected to grow with a CAGR between 9 percent and 10.2 percent during 2016-2022. The study on consumer preference of gluten-free foods would enable manufacturers of gluten-free foods to understand the current and evolving expectations of consumers and to design the products according. Study of two countries i.e., India and USA would enable manufacturers to understand the difference in choices and preferences related to gluten-free foods for both the nations. This study would help manufacturers of alternative wheat product to form the concrete marketing and product development strategy based on recent consumer behavior trends.展开更多

Methods: Initial rates were simulated by randomly inserting uniform absolute error, and the experimental initial rates of ArE were determined by measuring the increaser of product absorbance. Calibrated specific activities at two substrate concentrations were obtained by regression analysis, and Km was calculated according to Michaelis-Menten equation. Results: By simulation with calibrated specific activities at two medium substrate concentrations, Km could be calculated according to Michaelis-Menten equation with reasonable precision and accuracy. By experimentation with substrates of 2-naphthyl acetate, phenyl acetate, and p-nitrophenyl acetate, there were no differences between the mean and SD of Km of ArE for either substrate by this linear kinetic method and the Lineweaver-Burk plot. Conclusion: This linear kinetic method was reliable for fast estimation of the Km of some specified enzyme on its substrate of lower solubility or lower sensitivity for quantification by common methods.展开更多

A new correlation based on artificial neural network (ANN) to predict the pulsation frequency was developed. Seven dimensionless numbers (groups) employed in the proposed correlation were liquid and gas Reynolds, liquid Weber, liquid Eotvos, gas Froude, and gas Stokes numbers and a bed correction factor. The comparisons of performance reported in the of literature and present correlations show that ANN correlation is a significant improvement in predicting pulsation frequency with an average absolute relative error (AARE) of 10% and a standard deviation less than 18%.展开更多

Severe tensile strength loss is the major disadvantage for wrinkle resistant cotton fabrics.Tensile strength loss of cotton fabric crosslinked by a polycarboxylic acid can be attributed to depolymerization and crosslink of cellulose molecules. Measurement of the molecular weight of cotton fabric before and after crosslinked by polycarboxylic acids can offer a possibility of direct understanding of the depolymerization. In this research, amultiple angle laser light scattering photometer was used todetermine the absolute molecular weight of cotton fabric treated with BTCA at different pH and then hydrolyzed with 0. 5 M NaOH solution at 50℃ for 144 h. The results indicate that average molecular weights of cotton fabric treated with polycarboxylic acids at different pH are almost the same.展开更多

The following aspects are reviewed: The stability of large-scale horizontal motion in the atmosphere accords with the common inertial stability criterion when the effect of Rossby parameter is not considered (Yang, 1983), and that, on the other hand, the motion will bifurcate two times with the variation of absolute vorticity of basic Zephyr flow at the initial position under the effect of Rossby parameter. Furthermore, in the inertial stable region, if the effect of geostrophic deviation at the initial position is considered, the motion will not only bifurcate but also generate a catastrophe.展开更多

Methods: cDNA probes were prepared by labeling mRNA of aspermia testes tissues with Cy5-dUTP and mRNA of normal testes tissues with Cy3-dUTP respectively through reverse transcription. The mixed cDNA probes were then hybridized with 4096 cDNA arrays (4096 unique human cDNA sequences), and the fluorescent signals were scanned by ScanArray 3000 scanner (General Scanning, Inc.). The values of Cy5-dUTP and Cy3-dUTP on each spot were analyzed and calculated by ImaGene 3.0 software (BioDiscovery, Inc.). Differentially expressed genes were screened according to the criterion that the absolute value of natural logarithm of the ratio of Cy5-dUTP to Cy3-dUTP was greater-than 2.0 or less-than 0.5. A randomly chosen gene RAP1A was studied by in situ hybridization to evaluate the accuracy of the results. Results: 623 differential expressed genes related to aspermia were found. There were 303 up-expressed genes and 320 down-expressed genes. A distinct up-expressed gene RAP1A was confirmed by in situ hybridization. Conclusions: Screening the differential gene expression profiles between the normal and aspermia human testis by cDNA microarray can be used in the study of aspermia-related genes and the further research due to its properties, RAP1A may play some roles in the development and progression of aspermia.展开更多
