In 1996,the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences began work on the Complete Collection of Traditional Ounese Arts and Crafts(Zhongguo chuantong ongyi quanji中国传统工艺全集)...In 1996,the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences began work on the Complete Collection of Traditional Ounese Arts and Crafts(Zhongguo chuantong ongyi quanji中国传统工艺全集).In 2016,Elephant Press published this twenty-volume magnum opus under the chief editorship of Lu Yongxiang路甬祥.This rich and informative book series systematically details traditional arts and crafts in over ten main categories that demonstrate Chinese scholars'mastery of fields such as lacquerware,ceramics,metal crafts,machinery,spinning and weaving,dyeing,brewing,processing of traditional Chinese materia medica,papermaking and printing,sculpting,and armor restoration.The authors are well versed in traditional Chinese arts and crafts and have the pertinent academic credentials,elevating research on the subject to a new level and breadth.However,the Complete Collection has not yet covered all significant arts and crafts,and the cultural implications have still to be explored.展开更多
Periodic nitrogen-doped homoepitaxial nano-multilayers were grown by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition. The residual time of gases(such as CH4and N2) in the chamber was determined by optical emission spectros...Periodic nitrogen-doped homoepitaxial nano-multilayers were grown by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition. The residual time of gases(such as CH4and N2) in the chamber was determined by optical emission spectroscopy to determine the nano-multilayer growth process, and thin, nanoscale nitrogen-doped layers were obtained. The highest toughness of 18.2 MPa·m^(1/2)under a Young’s modulus of1000 GPa is obtained when the single-layer thickness of periodic nitrogen-doped nano-multilayers is about 96 nm. The fracture toughness of periodic nitrogen-doped CVD layer is about 2.1 times that of the HPHT seed substrate. Alternating tensile and compressive stresses are derived from periodic nitrogen doping;hence, the fracture toughness is significantly improved. Single-crystal diamond with a high toughness demonstrates wide application prospects for high-pressure anvils and single-point diamond cutting tools.展开更多

At present,the rare earth(RE) ions doped phosphors have attracted more and more attention because of their excellent properties.In this paper,a series of novel blue-purple β-Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2):Ce^(3+) phosphors were ...At present,the rare earth(RE) ions doped phosphors have attracted more and more attention because of their excellent properties.In this paper,a series of novel blue-purple β-Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2):Ce^(3+) phosphors were synthesized by a high temperature solid phase method.The X-ray diffraction(XRD),infrared spectrum,energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra were used to investigate the crystal structure,composition and the luminescent properties of the resulting samples.The phosphor shows a strong absorption in the ultraviolet band.Under the excitation of 269 nm,the phosphor emits a strong purple fluorescence ranging from 360 to 520 nm.When Ce^(3+) doping content is 0.07 mol,the strongest luminescence intensity is reached,and the concentration quenching mechanism is dipole-dipole(d-d)interaction for Ce^(3+) based on Dexter theory.展开更多
