Tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia are the major symptoms of the disease. These motor impairments are often accompanied by affective and emotional dysfunctions which have been largely studied over the last decade. The aim of this study was to investigate emotional processing organization in the brain of patients with Parkinson's disease and to explore whether there are differences between recognition of different types of emotions in Parkinson's disease. We examined 18 patients with Parkinson's disease(8 men, 10 women) with no history of neurological or psychiatric comorbidities. All these patients underwent identical brain blood oxygenation level-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging for emotion evaluation. Blood oxygenation level-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging results revealed that the occipito-temporal cortices, insula, orbitofrontal cortex, basal ganglia, and parietal cortex which are involved in emotion processing, were activated during the functional control. Additionally, positive emotions activate larger volumes of the same anatomical entities than neutral and negative emotions. Results also revealed that Parkinson's disease associated with emotional disorders are increasingly recognized as disabling as classic motor symptoms. These findings help clinical physicians to recognize the emotional dysfunction of patients with Parkinson's disease.展开更多

In order to appreciate their in vivo mode of action, the supplementation effect of two of its xylanases, XynD and XynB from families GH10 and GHll respectively, have been evaluated on two different wheat cultivars Caphorn and Isengrain, which were chosen amongst 6 varieties for their difference in non starch polysaccharides content and arabinoxylan composition. Results: Polysaccharides digestion was followed during 6 h along the digestive tract using the TNO gastrointestinal model-1, to mimic monogastric metabolism. Polysaccharide degradation appeared to occur mainly at the jejunal level and was higher with Isengrain than with Caphorn. For both cultivars, XynD and XynB supplementation increased notably the amount of reducing end sugars into the jejuno-ileal dialysates, which has been confirmed by a valuable increase of the soluble glucose into the jejunal dialysates. Conclusions: The amounts of arabinose and xylose into the dialysates and ileal deliveries increased consequently mainly for Caphorn, suggesting that XynD and XynB supplementation in wheat-based diet could alleviate the anti-nutritional effects of arabinoxylans by limiting the physical entrapment of starch and could increase the available metabolizable energy.展开更多

Although the current literature supports a beneficial influence of acute exercise on cognitive performance, the mechanisms underlying this phenomenon have not yet been elucidated. We review studies that used single-pulse transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to probe the excitability of motor structures during whole-body exercise and present a framework to account for the facilitating effects of acute exercise on motor processes. Recent results suggest that, even in the absence of fatigue, the increase in corticospinal excitability classically reported during submaximal and exhausting exercises may be accompanied by a reduction in intracortical inhibition. We propose that reduced intracortical inhibition elicits an adaptive central mechanism that counteracts the progressive reduction in muscle responsiveness caused by peripheral fatigue. Such a reduction would render the motor cortex more sensitive to upstream influences, thus causing increased corticospinal excitability. Furthermore, reduction of intracortical inhibition may account for the more efficient descending drive and for the improvement of reaction time performance during exercise. The adaptive modulation in intracortical inhibition could be implemented through a general increase in reticular activation that would further account for enhanced sensory sensitivity.展开更多

Diverse morphotypes of magnetotactic bacteria were observed, including cocci and oval, vibrio-, spirillum-, rod-, elliptical-, handle- and bar-shaped forms. The magnetococci were the most abundant, and had flagella arranged in parallel within a bundle. The majority of magnetosomes were arranged in one, two or multiple chains, although irregular arrangements were also evident. All the results of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM) analysis show that magnetosome crystals were composed of Fe3O4, and their morphology was specific to particular cell morphotypes. By the 16 S r RNA gene sequence analysis, we found fourteen operational taxonomic units(OTUs) which were related to magnetotactic bacteria. Among these, thirteen belonged to the Alphaproteobacteria and one to the Gammaproteobacteria.Compared with known axenic and uncultured marine magnetotactic bacteria, the 16 S r RNA gene sequences of most magnetotactic bacteria collected from the Yuehu Lake exhibited sequence identities ranging from 90.1% to96.2%(〈97%). The results indicate that microbial communities containing previously unidentified magnetotactic bacteria occur in the Yuehu Lake.展开更多

Methods: Fourteen participants performed a Simon Task while cycling 20 min at a light (first ventilatory threshold, VT~ - 20%), moderate (VTI), or very hard (VTj + 20%) level of exercise. Results: After 15 min of cycling, RTs are faster than during the first 5 min of exercise. This benefit does not fluctuate with the intensity of exercise and enlarges as RT lengthens. Despite a numerical difference suggesting a greater facilitation during moderate exercise (-16 ms) than during a light exercise (-10 ms), the benefit is not statistically different. Interestingly, we did not observe any signs of worsening on RT or on accuracy during very hard exercise. Conclusion: Cognitive control is extremely robust and appears not to be affected by the intensity of exercise. The selective inhibition and the between-trials adjustments are effective from the beginning to the end of exercise, regardless of the workload output.展开更多

Together with light emitting diodes and solar cells, transistors are among the most studied components. The development of new semiconductors induced a real improvement in organic thin film transistor’s performances. Additionally, the synthesis of new soluble and air-stable molecules with the ability to process the active materials at low temperatures over large areas on substrates such as plastic or paper provide unique technologies and generate new applications. However the control of the solid state structure has emerged as essential to realize the full intrinsic potential that organic semiconductors possess. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) was likely to contribute to a further advancement of knowledge. The ability of the AFM to produce three dimensional maps at the micro- and nanometer scale has greatly increased its popularity as an imaging tool. Recently, distyryl-oligothiophenes and their derivatives appear as a new class of molecular semiconductors. Detailed morphological studies of organic active layers based on such new semiconductors involved in organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) have brought a large knowledge about the impact of chemical and physico-chemical aspects on charge transport efficiency.展开更多

We first investigated the temperature dependence of the transport properties in the temperature range of 258 K - 353 K. The electrical characteristics showed that the threshold voltage (VT) and the onset voltage (Von) remain unchanged. However, the subthreshold current (Ioff), the on-current (Ion) and the field effect mobility (μ) are highly affected with a slight deterioration of subthreshold slope. We observed Arrhenius-like behavior suggesting a thermally activated mobility with an activation energy EA = 68 meV. Moreover the dependence of the charge carrier mobility on the organic semiconductor thickness has also been studied. The mobility decreased as the pentacene thickness increases whereas the threshold voltage and Ioff current remain minimally affected. In order to understand the transport properties and in view to put in light morphology peculiarities of pentacene, AFM images were performed. It turns out that the pentacene grain sizes are smaller and disorganized as the film thickness increases, and charge carriers are more prone to be trapped, leading to decrease the field effect mobility and the Ion current. The devices were also tested under bias stress and the transistors with low thicknesses exhibited a relatively good electrical stability compared to those with high pentacene thicknesses. This work points out the influence of temperature, semiconductor thickness and bias stress effect on the device performance and stability of transistor using top gate configuration.展开更多

文摘Background: The filamentous fungus Talaromyces versatifis is known to improve the metabolizable energy of wheat- based poultry diets thanks to its ability to produce a pool of CAZymes and particularly endo-β(1,4)-xylanases. Conclusions: The amounts of arabinose and xylose into the dialysates and ileal deliveries increased consequently mainly for Caphorn, suggesting that XynD and XynB supplementation in wheat-based diet could alleviate the anti-nutritional effects of arabinoxylans by limiting the physical entrapment of starch and could increase the available metabolizable energy.

文摘This paper presents two comparisons or tests for a Lagrangian model of zooplankton dispersion:numerical schemes and time steps.Firstly,we compared three numerical schemes using idealized circulations. Results show that the precisions of the advanced Adams-Bashfold-Moulton(ABM) method and the Runge-Kutta(RK) method were in the same order and both were much higher than that of the Euler method.Furthermore, the advanced ABM method is more efficient than the RK method in computational memory requirements and time consumption. We therefore chose the advanced ABM method as the Lagrangian particle-tracking algorithm.Secondly,we performed a sensitivity test for time steps, using outputs of the hydrodynamic model,Symphonie. Results show that the time step choices depend on the fluid response time that is related to the spatial resolution of velocity fields. The method introduced by Oliveira et al.in 2002 is suitable for choosing time steps of Lagrangian particle-tracking models,at least when only considering advection.
文摘The advent of sentinel lymph-node technique has led to a shift in lymph-node staging, due to the emergence of new entities namely micrometastases(p N1mi) and isolated tumor cells [p N0(i+)].The prognostic significance of this low positivity in axillary lymph nodes is currently debated,as is,therefore its management. This article provides updates evidence-based medicine data to take into account for treatment decision-making in this setting, discussing the locoregional treatment in p N0(i+) and p N1 mi patients(completion axillary dissection, axillary irradiation with or without regional nodes irradiation,or observation),according to systemic treatment, with the goal to help physicians in their daily practice.
文摘The effects of exercise on decision-making performance have been studied using a wide variety of cognitive tasks and exercise interventions. The adaptive modulation in intracortical inhibition could be implemented through a general increase in reticular activation that would further account for enhanced sensory sensitivity.
文摘Thrombosis plays a crucial role in atherosclerosis or in haemostasis when a blood vessel is injured. This article focuses on using a meshless particle-based Lagrangian numerical technique, the smoothed particles hydrodynamic(SPH)method,to study the flow behaviour of blood and to explore the flow parameters that induce formation of a thrombus in a blood vessel.Due to its simplicity and effectiveness, the SPH method is employed here to simulate the process of thrombogenesis and to study the effect of various blood flow parameters. In the present SPH simulation, blood is modelled by two sets of particles that have the characteristics of plasma and of platelet, respectively. To simulate coagulation of platelets which leads to a thrombus, the so-called adhesion and aggregation mechanisms of the platelets during this process are modelled by an inter-particle force model. The transport of platelets in the flowing blood, platelet adhesion and aggregation processes are coupled with viscous blood flow for various low Reynolds number scenarios. The numerical results are compared with the experimental observations and a good agreement is found between the simulated and experimental results.

文摘Marine magnetotactic bacteria were collected from the intertidal sediments of Yuehu Lake(China), where their abundance reached 103–104 ind./cm3. The results indicate that microbial communities containing previously unidentified magnetotactic bacteria occur in the Yuehu Lake.

文摘In this comment on the article“Locating the source field lines of Jovian decametric radio emissions”by Wang YM et al.,2020,we discuss the assumptions used by the authors to compute the beaming angle of Jupiter’s decametric emissions induced by the moon Io.Their method, relying on multi-point radio observations, was applied to a single event observed on 14th March 2014 by Wind and both STEREO A/B spacecraft from~5 to~16 MHz.They have erroneously identified the emission as a northern(Io-B type)instead of a southern one(Io-D type). We encourage the authors to update their results with the correct hemisphere of origin and to test their method on a larger sample of Jupiter-Io emissions.

文摘Purpose: This study aimed to investigate whether workload intensity modulates exercise-induced effect on reaction time (RT) performances, and more specifically to clarify whether cognitive control that plays a crucial role in rapid decision making is altered. The selective inhibition and the between-trials adjustments are effective from the beginning to the end of exercise, regardless of the workload output.
文摘Nowadays in laboratories and in industries, distribution of solar cells sizes could be very large, hence;for the first time it is rather difficult to compare photovoltaic parameters which are size dependent (current, serial resistance, shunt resistance...) and performances of these cells. Also, it will be useful for scale effect to extrapolate performances calculated on a unit size solar cell to commercial products, especially in the case of heterogeneous wafers used for the device.
文摘Significant advances have been made recently in the area of organic electronics and optoelectronics based on small molecules as a result of an improved chemistry and a better technology. Detailed morphological studies of organic active layers based on such new semiconductors involved in organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) have brought a large knowledge about the impact of chemical and physico-chemical aspects on charge transport efficiency.

文摘In this contribution, we report on the effect of pentacene thickness and temperature on the performance of top gate transistors. This work points out the influence of temperature, semiconductor thickness and bias stress effect on the device performance and stability of transistor using top gate configuration.
