Methods: A total of 116 patients with acute suppurative appendicitis were enrolled in this study. The collection period was from December 2021 to December 2023. The patients were randomly grouped into a control group (surgical treatment) and an observation group (surgical treatment and postoperative anti-infection treatment), of 58 patients each. At the end of the treatment, the results of each index of the two groups were compared. Results: The length of hospitalization time, exhaust time, and incidence of complications in the observation group were shorter than those of the control group (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: It is crucial to perform anti-infective treatment promptly after surgical treatment in patients with acute suppurative appendicitis. It can effectively prevent the occurrence of complications and improve the clinical efficacy. Hence, it is worthy of research and promotion.展开更多
Background and objective Low-density computed tomography(LDCT)improved early lung cancer diagnosis but introduces an excess of false-positive pulmonary nodules data.Hence,accurate diagnosis of early-stage lung cancer ...Background and objective Low-density computed tomography(LDCT)improved early lung cancer diagnosis but introduces an excess of false-positive pulmonary nodules data.Hence,accurate diagnosis of early-stage lung cancer remains challenging.The purpose of the study was to assess the feasibility of using circulating tumour cells(CTCs)to differentiate malignant from benign pulmonary nodules.Materials and methods 122 patients with suspected malignant pulmonary nodules detected on chest CT in preparation for surgery were prospectively recruited.Peripheral blood samples were collected before surgery,and CTCs were identified upon isolation by size of epithelial tumour cells and morphological analysis.Laser capture microdissection,MALBAC amplification,and whole-exome sequencing were performed on 8 samples.The diagnostic efficacy of CTCs counting,and the genomic variation profile of benign and malignant CTCs samples were analysed.Results Using 2.5 cells/5 m L as the cut-off value,the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was of 0.651(95%confidence interval:0.538-0.764),with a sensitivity and specificity of 0.526 and 0.800,respectively,and positive and negative predictive values of 91.1%and 30.3%,respectively.Distinct sequence variations differences in DNA damage repair-related and driver genes were observed in benign and malignant samples.TP53 mutations were identified in CTCs of four malignant cases;in particular,g.7578115T>C,g.7578645C>T,and g.7579472G>C were exclusively detected in all four malignant samples.Conclusion CTCs play an ancillary role in the diagnosis of pulmonary nodules.TP53 mutations in CTCs might be used to identify benign and malignant pulmonary nodules.展开更多
Objective:This study aimed to survey the characteristics and treatments of cancer pain in Beijing hospitals,China.Methods:At 20:00 on December 22,2009,there conducted a questionnaire survey in 2238 patients with malig...Objective:This study aimed to survey the characteristics and treatments of cancer pain in Beijing hospitals,China.Methods:At 20:00 on December 22,2009,there conducted a questionnaire survey in 2238 patients with malignant tumors of 26 hospitals in Beijing,and the survey results were statistically analyzed.Results:The 531 cases in 2238 patients had pained and 121 cases (22.79%) had outbreak pain with one week.At 20:00 on December 22,2009,199 cases (38%) in the above-mentioned 531 pain patients suffered the moderate to severe pain (pain scores ≥ 4).The number of pain (pain scores ≥ 4) patients in the consecutive three days from December 20 to December 22 were 150.Conclusion:In the 531 cancer pain patients of the surveyed hospitals,38% of the patients were not satisfied with the pain control.Doctors believed that the main reason for pain not controlled was the non-standard treatment,but patients considered to be afraid of addiction.展开更多
Background:Overexpression of G-protein coupled receptor 34 (GPR34) affects the progression and prognosis of human gastric adenocarcinoma,however,the role of GPR34 in gastric cancer development and progression has n...Background:Overexpression of G-protein coupled receptor 34 (GPR34) affects the progression and prognosis of human gastric adenocarcinoma,however,the role of GPR34 in gastric cancer development and progression has not been well-determined.The current study aimed to investigate the effect of GPR34 knockdown on the proliferation,migration,and apoptosis of HGC-27 gastric cancer cells and the underlying mechanisms.Methods:The expression of GPR34 in gastric cancer cell line HGC-27 was detected by quantitative real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blotting.HGC-27 cells were employed to construct the stable GPR34 knockdown cell model in this study.Real-time RT-PCR and Western blotting were applied to validate the effect of short hairpin RNA (ShRNA) on the expression of GPR34 in HGC-27 gastric cells.The proliferation,migration of these cells were examined by Cell Counting Kit-8 and transwell.We also measured expression profile of PI3K/PDK1/AKT and ERK using Western blotting.Results:The ShRNA directed against GPR34 effectively inhibited both endogenous mRNA and protein expression levels of GPR34,and significantly down-regulated the expression of PIK3CB (P < 0.01),PIK3CD (P < 0.01),PDK1 (P < 0.01),phosphorylation of PDK1 (P < 0.01),Akt (P < 0.01),and ERK (P < 0.01).Furthermore,GPR34 knockdown resulted in an obvious reduction in HGC-27 cancer cell proliferation and migration activity (P < 0.01).Conclusions:GPR34 knockdown impairs the proliferation and migration of HGC-27 gastric cancer cells in vitro and provides a potential implication for therapy of gastric cancer.展开更多

A new nerve guidance conduits(NGCs)named MC@Col containing Type I collagen(Col)and mineralized collagen(MC)was developed,enhancing mechanical and degradation behavior.The physicochemical properties,the mechanical prop...A new nerve guidance conduits(NGCs)named MC@Col containing Type I collagen(Col)and mineralized collagen(MC)was developed,enhancing mechanical and degradation behavior.The physicochemical properties,the mechanical properties and in vitro degradation behavior were all evaluated.The adhesion and proliferation of Schwann cells(SCs)were observed.In the in vivo experiment,MC@Col NGC and other conduits including Col,chitosan(CST)and polycaprolactone(PCL)conduit were implanted to repair a 10-mm-long Sprague-Dawley rat’s sciatic nerve defect.Histological analyses,morphological analyses,electrophysiological analyses and further gait analyses were all evaluated after implantation in 12 weeks.The strength and degradation performance of the MC@Col NGC were improved by the addition of MC in comparison with pure Col NGC.In vitro cytocompatibility evaluation revealed that the SCs had good viability,attachment and proliferation in the MC@Col.In in vivo results,the regenerative outcomes of MC@Col NGC were close to those by an autologous nerve graft in some respects,but superior to those by Col,CST and PCL conduits.The MC@Col NGC exhibited good mechanical performance as well as biocompatibility to bridge nerve gap and guide nerve regeneration,thus showing great promising potential as a new type of conduit in clinical applications.展开更多
OBJECTIVE:To summarize the evidence from Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)practice in the treatment of acute primary headache and provide clinical practice guidance.METHODS:The guidelines were developed in accordance ...OBJECTIVE:To summarize the evidence from Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)practice in the treatment of acute primary headache and provide clinical practice guidance.METHODS:The guidelines were developed in accordance with the World Health Organization guideline development manual.After the establishment of steering committee,panel and the registration and protocol formulation,the evidence on TCM for acute primary headache from published guidelines,clinical evidence,and expert experience and consensus were collected.The grading of recommendations assessment,development and evaluation method was used to grade the evidence and make the recommendations.RESULTS:Based on the available evidence,the guidelines recommended three TCM herbal decoctions,six Chinese patent medicines,and two kinds of external application of Chinese herbal medicines.Diagnostic recommendations based on the expert experience and consensus were also included in the guidelines.CONCLUSION:TCM diagnosis and treatment of decoction,Chinese patent medicine and external application for treating acute primary headache were recommended.We hope these guidelines will be helpful in standardize the TCM acute treatment of primary headache.展开更多
