AI brings gamechanging approaches for soccer analytics where soccer has been a typical benchmark for AI research. The combination has been an emerging topic. In this paper, soccer match analytics are taken as a complete observation-orientation-decision-action(OODA) loop.In addition, as in AI frameworks such as that for reinforcement learning, interacting with a virtual environment enables an evolving model. Therefore, both soccer analytics in the real world and virtual domains are discussed. With the intersection of the OODA loop and the real-virtual domains, available soccer data, including event and tracking data, and diverse orientation and decisionmaking models for both real-world and virtual soccer matches are comprehensively reviewed. Finally, some promising directions in this interdisciplinary area are pointed out. It is claimed that paradigms for both professional sports analytics and AI research could be combined. Moreover, it is quite promising to bridge the gap between the real and virtual domains for soccer match analysis and decision-making.展开更多

It is pressing for a device that can detect the intensity of exercise. Therefore, in order to enable real-time detection of exercise intensity and mitigate the risks of harmfrom excessive exercise, a exercise intensity monitoring system based on the heart rate variability(HRV) from electrocardiogram (ECG) signal and linear features from phonocardiogram (PCG)signal is proposed. The main contributions include: First, accurate analysis of HRV is crucial forsubsequent exercise intensity detection. To enhance HRV analysis, we propose an R-peak detectorbased on encoder-decoder and temporal convolutional network (TCN). Experimental resultsdemonstrate that the proposed R-peak detector achieves an F1 score exceeding 0.99 on real high-intensity exercise ECG datasets. Second, an exercise fatigue monitoring system based on multi-signal feature fusion is proposed. Initially, utilizing the proposed R-peak detector for HRV extractionin exercise intensity detection, which outperforms traditional algorithms, with the system achieving a classification performance of 0.933 sensitivity, 0.802 specificity, and 0.960 accuracy. To further improve the system, we combine HRV with the linear features of PCG. Our exercise intensitydetection system achieves 90.2% specificity, 96.7% recall, and 98.1% accuracy in five-fold cross-validation.展开更多

English rugby,American football, and soccer.Basic science studies have demonstrated that a muscle strain injury occurs due to excessive strain in eccentric contraction instead of force, and that elongation speed and duration of activation before eccentric contraction affect the severity of the injury.Hamstring strain injury is likely to occur during the late swing phase and late stance phase of sprint running.Shortened optimum muscle length, lack of muscle flexibility, strength imbalance, insufficient warm-up,fatigue,lower back injury, poor lumbar posture, and increased muscle neural tension have been identified as modifiable risk factors while muscle compositions, age, race, and previous injuries are non-modifiable risk factors. The theoretical basis of some of these risk factors, however,is lacking, and the results of clinical studies on these risk factors are inconsistent.Future studies are needed to establish the cause-and-effect relationships between those proposed risk factors and the injury.展开更多

This study systematically reviewed scientific evidence regarding the impact of built environment on PA and obesity among children and adolescents in China. Methods: A keyword and reference search was conducted in Active Living Research, Cochrane Library, PubMed, and Web of Science. Studies that met all of the following criteria were included in the review:(1) study designs—experimental studies, observational studies, and qualitative studies;(2) study subjects—Chinese children and/or adolescents aged 17 years;(3) exposures—neighborhood built environment;(4)outcomes—PA and/or body weight status;(5) article type—peer-reviewed publications;(6) time window of search—from the inception of an electronic bibliographic database to May 31, 2018;(7) country—China; and(8) language—articles written in English. Results: A total of 20 studies, including 16 cross-sectional studies, 3 longitudinal studies, and 1 descriptive study, met the predetermined selection criteria and were included in the review. A total of 13 studies adopted subjective built environment measures reported by parents and/or children, 2 adopted objective measures(e.g., geographical information system, field observations), and 5 adopted both objective and subjective measures. PA behaviors included PA, physical inactivity, sedentary behavior, active/passive commuting from/to school, and park visits. Among the 16 studies that provided some quantitative estimates of the influence of built environment on PA and body weight status, all reported a statistically significant relationship in the expected direction. Availability and accessibility in proximity to greenspaces, parks, recreational facilities, and sidewalks were found to be associated with increased PA levels, reduced sedentary behaviors, and/or active commuting among Chinese children and adolescents. In contrast, the absence of bike lanes and living in higher density residential areas were associated with increased likelihood of childhood overweight and obesity. Conclusion: Neighborhood built environment plays an important role in Chinese children's PA engagement and weight outcomes. Building new exercise facilities and enhancing the accessibility of existing facilities hold the potential to enhance PA engagement among Chinese children and adolescents. In addition, urban designs that incorporate sidewalks, bike lanes, walking paths, less motorized traffic, and lower residential density are likely to promote PA and prevent childhood obesity in China.展开更多

文摘Accurate detection of exercise fatigue based on physiological signals is vital for reason-able physical activity. As a non-invasive technology, phonocardiogram(PCG)signals possess arobust capability to reflect cardiovascular information, and their data acquisition devices are quiteconvenient. In this study,a novel hybrid approach of fractional Fourier transform(FRFT)com-bined with linear and discrete wavelet transform(DWT)features extracted from PCG is proposedfor PCG multi-class classification. The proposed system enhances the fatigue detection performanceby combining optimized FRFT features with an effective aggregation of linear features and DWTfeatures. The FRFT technique is employed to convert the 1-D PCG signal into 2-D image which issent to a pre-trained convolutional neural network structure, called VGG-16.The features from theVGG-16 were concatenated with the linear and DWT features to form fused features. The fusedfeatures are sent to support vector machine(SVM)to distinguish six distinct fatigue levels.Experi-mental results demonstrate that the proposed fused features outperform other feature combinationssignificantly.
文摘Benefits of exercise for personal health,as well as preventing and treating chronic diseases, have been well documented during the past several decades.1 Exercise prescription is a specialized field that involves assessing an individual’s health status, fitness level, and specific goals to create a tailored exercise program based often on the FITT-VP principle.
文摘Background:High blood pressure(BP)is a major contributor to mortality and cardiovascular diseases.Despite the known benefits of exercise for reducing BP,it is crucial to identify the most effective physical activity(PA)intervention. This systematic review and network meta-analysis(NMA)aimed to evaluate the available evidence on the effectiveness of various PA interventions for reducing BP and to determine their hierarchy based on their impact on BP.Methods:A search of PubMed,SPORTDiscus,PsycINFO,Web of Science,CINAHL,Cochrane, and Eric databases was conducted up to December 2022 for this systematic review and NMA.Randomized controlled trials and quasi-experimental studies targeting healthy children and adolescents aged 6-12 years old were included in this study.Only studies that compared controlled and intervention groups using PA or exercise as the major influence were included. We followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)guidelines.Three independent investigators performed the literature screening, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment. We used Bayesian arm-based NMA to synthesize the data. The primary outcomes were systolic BP and diastolic BP.We calculated the mean differences(MDs)in systolic BP and diastolic BP before and after treatment.Mean treatment differences were estimated using NMA and random-effect models. Results:We synthesized 27 studies involving 15,220 children and adolescents.PA combined with nutrition and behavior change was the most effective intervention for reducing both systolic BP and diastolic BP(MD=-8.64,95%credible interval(95%CI):-11.44 to-5.84;MD=-6.75,95%CI:-10.44 to-3.11),followed by interventions with multiple components(MD=-1.39,95%CI:-1.94 to-0.84;MD=-2.54,95%CI:-4.89 to-0.29).Conclusion:Our findings suggest that PA interventions incorporating nutrition and behavior change, followed by interventions with multiple components, are most effective for reducing both systolic BP and diastolic BP in children and adolescents.
文摘Background:The ergogenic effects of caffeine intake on exercise performance are well-established,even if differences exist among individuals in response to caffeine intake. The genetic variation of a specific gene, human cytochrome P450 enzyme 1A2(CYP1A2)(rs762551),may be one reason for this difference. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to comprehensively evaluate the influence of CYP1A2 gene types on athletes’exercise performance after caffeine intake. Methods:A literature search through 4 databases(Web of Science,PubMed,Scopus, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure)was conducted until March 2023.The effect size was expressed as the weighted mean difference(WMD)by calculating fixed effects meta-analysis if heterogeneity was not significant(I^(2)≤50%and p≥0.1).Subgroup analyses were performed based on AA and AC/CC genotype of CYP1A2.Results:The final number of studies meeting the inclusion criteria was 12(n=666 participants). The overall analysis showed that the cycling time trial significantly improved after caffeine intake(WMD=-0.48,95%confidence interval(95%CI):-0.83 to-0.13,p=0.007).In subgroup analyses, acute caffeine intake improved cycling time trial only in individuals with the A allele(WMD=-0.90,95%CI:-1.48 to-0.33,p=0.002),but not the C allele(WMD=-0.08,95%CI:-0.32 to 0.17,p=0.53).Caffeine supplementation did not influence the Wingate(WMD=8.07,95%CI:-22.04 to 38.18,p=0.60)or countermovement jump test(CMJ)performance(WMD=1.17,95%CI:-0.02 to 2.36,p=0.05),and these outcomes were not influenced by CYP1A2 genotype. Conclusion:Participants with the CYP1A2 genotype with A allele improved their cycling time trials after caffeine supplementation. However, compared to placebo, acute caffeine supplementation failed to increase the Wingate or CMJ performance, regardless of CYP1A2 genotype.
文摘Cumulative evidence suggests that O-linkedβ-N-acetylglucosaminylation(OGlcNAcylation)plays an important regulatory role in pathophysiological processes.Although the regulatory mechanisms of O-GlcNAcylation in tumors have been gradually elucidated, the potential mechanisms of O-GlcNAcylation in bone metabolism, particularly,in the osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells(BMSCs)remains unexplored. In this study, the literature related to O-GlcNAcylation and BMSC osteogenic differentiation was reviewed, assuming that it could trigger more scholars to focus on research related to OGlcNAcylation and bone metabolism and provide insights into the development of novel therapeutic targets for bone metabolism disorders such as osteoporosis.

文摘BACKGROUND Skeletal muscle handles about 80% of insulin-stimulated glucose uptake and become the major organ occurring insulin resistance(IR).Many studies have confirmed the interactions between macrophages and skeletal muscle regulated the inflammation and regeneration of skeletal muscle. However, despite of the decades of research, whether macrophages infiltration and polarization in skeletal muscle under high glucose(HG)milieus results in the development of IR is yet to be elucidated.C2C12 myoblasts are well-established and excellent model to study myogenic regulation and its responses to stimulation.Further exploration of macrophages'role in myoblasts IR and the dynamics of their infiltration and polarization is warranted.AIM To evaluate interactions between myoblasts and macrophages under HG,and its effects on inflammation and IR in skeletal muscle.METHODS We detected the polarization status of macrophages infiltrated to skeletal muscles of IR mice by hematoxylin and eosin and immunohistochemical staining. Then,we developed an in vitro co-culture system to study the interactions between myoblasts and macrophages under HG milieus. The effects of myoblasts on macrophages were explored through morphological observation,CCK-8 assay,Flow Cytometry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The mediation of macrophages to myogenesis and insulin sensitivity were detected by morphological observation,CCK-8 assay,Immunofluorescence, and 2-NBDG assay.RESULTS The F4/80 and co-localization of F4/80 and CD86 increased, and the myofiber size decreased in IR group(P<0.01,g=6.26).Compared to Mc group,F4/80+CD86+CD206-cells,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNFα),inerleukin-1β(IL-1β)and IL-6 decreased, and IL-10 increased in McM group(P<0.01,g>0.8).In McM+HG group,F4/80+CD86+CD206-cells,monocyte chemoattractant protein 1,TNFα,IL-1βand IL-6 were increased, and F4/80+CD206+CD86-cells and IL-10 were decreased compared with Mc+HG group and McM group(P<0.01,g>0.8).Compered to M group, myotube area, myotube number and E-MHC were increased in MMc group(P<0.01,g>0.8).In MMc+HG group, myotube area, myotube number,E-MHC,GLUT4 and glucose uptake were decreased compared with M+HG group and MMc group(P<0.01,g>0.8).CONCLUSION Interactions between myoblasts and macrophages under HG milieus results in inflammation and IR,which support that the macrophage may serve as a promising therapeutic target for skeletal muscle atrophy and IR.

文摘BACKGROUND Flight cadets need to have good physical fitness to cope with the challenges of flying missions. The continuous development of science and technology has led to the constant upgrading of fighter jets and the improvement of their performance, which has resulted in new and higher requirements for the physical fitness of flight personnel. The traditional physical training mode, method, and assessment have been used for many years and do not meet current fitness needs.AIM To investigate the impact of a 12-wk comprehensive anti-G fitness training program on the aerobic capacity of aviation cadets and to evaluate its effectiveness.METHODS Fifty-five cadets were randomly assigned to control and experimental groups using a randomized,single-blind design. The control group maintained their existing training regimen, while the experimental group participated in a 12-wk comprehensive training intervention. The training program comprised strength training twice per week,high-intensity interval training three times per week, and supplemental nutritional and psychological support.Maximal oxygen uptake(VO2max),lower limb strength, and hemoglobin levels were measured at baseline,at 6 wk and 12 wk post-intervention.RESULTS Repeated measures analysis of variance revealed significant differences of both VO2max and relative VO2 in both groups across time points(P<0.05).However,no significant time-group interaction was observed(P>0.05).Paired t-tests comparing baseline and 12-wk results showed that VO2max and relative VO2 were significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group(P<0.05).This suggests that the training program effectively enhanced the aerobic capacity of the experimental group.Key indicators of aerobic capacity, bilateral lower limb strength and hemoglobin levels, were also significantly different over time and between groups(P<0.05).No significant differences were noted in heart-rate metrics(P>0.05).CONCLUSION A 12-wk comprehensive anti-G fitness training program significantly improved the aerobic capacity of aviation cadets, thereby enhancing their overall capacity and laying a physiological foundation for enduring high-G flights.
文摘Background:Exercise procrastination is prevalent among college students, causing decline in physical fitness. It is imperative to investigate the mechanism affecting college students’physical activity behaviors. This study was aimed at investigating the effect of procrastination on college students’physical exercise behavior, and the chain mediation effects of exercise commitment and action control(AC),to provide a theoretical basis for interventions targeting physical exercise behavior among college students. Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted using convenience sampling. The General Procrastination Scale,Exercise Commitment Scale,Action Control Scale, and Physical Activity Rating Scale-3 questionnaires were used.Participants were 581 college students(age 19.27±0.94 years;243 males and 338 females).Statistical methods of regression analysis and structural equation modeling(SEM)were applied. Results:Procrastination, exercise commitment, and action control were found to be significant predictors of physical exercise behavior.Among these predictors, exercise commitment and action control showed full mediation effects in the relationship between procrastination and physical exercise behavior, and explained 25.48%and 30.77%of the total variance, respectively. The chain mediation effect of exercise commitment-action control was significant, accounting for 22.60%of the total variance, and the total indirect effect was 79.33%.Conclusion:Therefore,higher procrastination was associated with less participation in physical exercise behavior among college students.Improvements in exercise commitment and volitional decision-making ability for physical exercise behavior promoted physical exercise behavior, and increased exercise commitment promoted volitional decision-making ability among the students. The chain reaction effect of exercise commitment and action control also buffered the negative effects of procrastination on physical exercise behavior, thereby increasing physical exercise behavior among college students.
文摘BACKGROUND Regular physical activity during childhood and adolescence is beneficial to bone development,as evidenced by the ability to increase bone density and peak bone mass by promoting bone formation.AIM To investigate the effects of exercise on bone formation in growing mice and to investigate the underlying mechanisms.METHODS 20 growing mice were randomly divided into two groups:Con group(control group,n=10)and Ex group(treadmill exercise group,n=10).Hematoxylin-eosin staining, immunohistochemistry, and micro-CT scanning were used to assess the bone formation-related indexes of the mouse femur.Bioinformatics analysis was used to find potential miRNAs targets of long non-coding RNA H19(lncRNA H19).RT-qPCR and Western Blot were used to confirm potential miRNA target genes of lncRNA H19 and the role of lncRNA H19 in promoting osteogenic differentiation.RESULTS Compared with the Con group, the expression of bone morphogenetic protein 2 was also significantly increased. The micro-CT results showed that 8 wk moderate-intensity treadmill exercise significantly increased bone mineral density, bone volume fraction, and the number of trabeculae, and decreased trabecular segregation in the femur of mice.Inhibition of lncRNA H19 significantly upregulated the expression of miR-149 and suppressed the expression of markers of osteogenic differentiation. In addition, knockdown of lncRNA H19 significantly downregulated the expression of autophagy markers, which is consistent with the results of autophagy-related protein changes detected in mouse femurs by immunofluorescence.CONCLUSION Appropriate treadmill exercise can effectively stimulate bone formation and promote the increase of bone density and bone volume in growing mice, thus enhancing the peak bone mass of mice. The lncRNA H19/miR-149 axis plays an important regulatory role in osteogenic differentiation.

文摘Background:Emerging adulthood is a pivotal life stage, presenting significant psychological and social changes, such as decreased sociability, depression, and other mental health problems.Previous studies have associated these changes with an unhealthy lifestyle. The 24-h movement guidelines for healthy lifestyles have been developed to promote appropriate health behaviors and improve individual wellness. However, the relationship between adherence to the 24-h movement guidelines and different characteristics of Chinese emerging adults is yet to be explored. This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the association between adherence to the 24-h movement guidelines and four characteristics(self-exploration,instability,possibilities,and responsibility)of Chinese emerging adults.Methods:Overall,1,510 Chinese emerging adults aged 18–29 years were included in this study. Each participant completed a self-administered questionnaire that included questions on adherence to the 24-h movement guidelines(physical activity, sedentary behavior, and sleep)and the inventory of dimensions of emerging adulthood.Multivariable logistic regression analysis was employed to investigate the associations between adherence to the 24-h movement guidelines and each of the four characteristics. Results:The proportion of participants who adhered to the 24-h movement guidelines was 31.72%.Multiple regression analysis revealed a significantly negative relationship between adhering to more guidelines and instability(β=−0.51,p<0.001).A statistically significant association was observed between instability and meeting only sedentary behavior(β=−1.27,95%confidence interval[CI]:[−2.32,−0.24],p=0.02),sedentary behavior+sleep(β=−1.30,95%CI:[−2.24,−0.35],p<0.01),and physical activity+sedentary behavior(β=−1.08,95%CI:[1.94,−0.21],p=0.02)guidelines.Further,positive and significant associations were observed between possibilities and meeting the guidelines for only physical activity(β=0.70,95%CI:[0.14,1.27),p=0.01),only sleep(β=0.61,95%CI:[0.01,1.21],p=0.04),physical activity+sedentary behavior(β=0.56,95%CI:[0.04,1.07),p=0.01),and physical activity+sleep(β=0.76,95%CI:[0.23,1.27],p=0.01).Conclusions:These findings suggest that adherence to the 24-h movement guidelines was associated with instability in Chinese emerging adults.Future studies are warranted to verify our findings to highlight the importance of maintaining a heath lifestyle to promote health in emerging adulthood.
文摘Hamstring strains are one of most common sports injuries. The purpose of this literature review is to summarize studies on hamstring strain injury rate, mechanism, and risk factors in the last several decades with a focus on the prevention and rehabilitation of this injury.Hamstring injury commonly occurs in sporting events in which high speed sprinting and kicking are frequently performed, such as Australian football. The theoretical basis of some of these risk factors, however,is lacking, and the results of clinical studies on these risk factors are inconsistent.Future studies are needed to establish the cause-and-effect relationships between those proposed risk factors and the injury.

文摘Objective:To assess the quality of systematic reviews assessing the effects of traditional Chinese exercises on controlling blood indices, anthropometric indices, psychological indices, and quality of life in patients with diabetes. Methods:Systematic studies/meta-analyses of intervention with traditional Chinese exercises on diabetes mellitus were searched in the Pub Med,Web of Science, the China National Knowledge Infrastructure Databases(CNKI),Wan Fang Database, and Chinese Scientific Journal Database(VIP).Two researchers independently screened the studies and extracted the data. The methodology and quality of evidence of the included studies were assessed using A Measurement Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews2(AMSTAR-2)and Grading of Recommendations Assessment,Development and Evaluation(GRADE)criteria, respectively. Results:A total of 32 systematic reviews/meta-analyses were included in the present study.Of them, the methodological quality of 4 studies was graded as low, while that of the other 28 was graded as extremely low.The most common quality flaws in key items included a lack of preliminary proposals for systematic reviews, failure to explain the reasons for the inclusion criteria, failure to provide a list of excluded studies and reasons for exclusion, failure to report potential conflicts of interest, and inadequate assessment of publication bias. The quality of evidence for most of the 18 outcomes was subsequently graded as medium or low.Overall, the results of these studies indicated that Tai Chi,health qigong, and other traditional Chinese exercises lowered fasting blood glucose(FBG),2-h postprandial blood glucose(2hPBG),hemoglobin A_(1c)(HbA_(1c)),and body mass index, and relieved anxiety and depression in patients with diabetes. Conclusion:Our findings indicate that the methodological quality of systematic reviews related to traditional Chinese exercises in the diabetic population is generally low,and the quality of evidence is also relatively poor. Therefore,we suggest that the quality of systematic reviews and meta-analyses on traditional Chinese exercises for controlling diabetes mellitus needs to be improved. In the future, researchers should conduct higher-quality clinical studies with reference to the AMSTAR2 checklist and GRADE system.
文摘Background: Neighborhood built environment may profoundly influence children's physical activity(PA) and body weight. In addition, urban designs that incorporate sidewalks, bike lanes, walking paths, less motorized traffic, and lower residential density are likely to promote PA and prevent childhood obesity in China.
