Experimental studies on the mechanism governing the TCM treatment of psoriasis have been conducted at the cellular level and the molecular level. The studies on proliferation and differentiation of keratinocytes and the inhibitory effect against them, apoptosis, intercellular adhesion molecules, cytokine, and haemorheology indicate that the laboratory studies on the treatment of psoriasis have now entered a very high stage since the eighties. The studies on relationship between typing of psoriasis based on TCM differentiation of symptoms and signs and changes in some laboratory indexes have been carried out by some researchers to explore the inherent pathological changes in typing of psoriasis based on TCM differentiation of symptoms and signs and to provide scientific basis for the differentiation and typing under a unified standard. However, the present studies lack depth and scope in the methods. In future, the laboratory studies should be enhanced to go further into the principles governing the TCM treatment of psoriasis and to seek new drugs that will be even more effective for psoriasis and can bring its relapse under control.展开更多

The pathogenesis of obesity is complicated in which the intestinal flora plays an important role. Intestinal micro ecology is composed of large and complex intestinal flora that participate in important physiological functions such as metabolism, energy conversion, maintaining intestinal mucosal defense function, and promoting immune system development and maturation and other important physiological functions;furthermore, they are influenced by the host’s genetic background, diet, and other factors. Therefore, intestinal microflora has potential as a new field of drug therapy. At present, it is found that traditional Chinese medicine therapy may prevent and treat obesity by interfering with the intestinal flora, which is expected to become one of the main treatment methods for obese patients. However, its mechanism of action remains unclear. The balance of intestinal flora can be adjusted by acupuncture, massage, and acupoint application. By analyzing the mechanism of obesity caused by intestinal micro ecology and the impact of obesity on the host’s intestinal micro ecological environment, this paper discusses the influence of oral Chinese medicine, acupuncture, massage, acupoint sticking, and other traditional Chinese medicine therapies on the intestinal microflora in obese patients and provides a scientific basis for its clinical application.展开更多

However, long period of hormone administration will result in general side effects in the whole body as well as hormone dependence, which has now become a hard problem for physicians. Now a non-hormone medication of immunosuppressant has been chosen in western medicine to treat asthma as a replacement or partial replacement of hormone. Nevertheless, its therapeutic effect is not reliable and its side effects severe, hence hardly acceptable to patients. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) always adheres to the principle of holistic treatment and has a great advantage in the treatment of this disease. TCM doctors have made some trials and researches in this area and obtained some accomplishments. The following is a brief account of general researches on the treatment of asthma with TCM.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND Gastric cancer(GC)is the fifth most commonly diagnosed malignancy worldwide, with over 1 million new cases per year, and the third leading cause of cancer-related death.AIM To determine the optimal perioperative treatment regimen for patients with locally resectable GC.METHODS A comprehensive literature search was conducted, focusing on phase II/III randomized controlled trials(RCTs)assessing perioperative chemotherapy and chemoradiotherapy in treating locally resectable GC.The R0 resection rate, overall survival(OS),disease-free survival(DFS),and incidence of grade 3 or higher nonsurgical severe adverse events(SAEs)associated with various perioperative regimens were analyzed.A Bayesian network meta-analysis was performed to compare treatment regimens and rank their efficacy.RESULTS Thirty RCTs involving 8346 patients were included in this study.Neoadjuvant XELOX plus neoadjuvant radiotherapy and neoadjuvant CF were found to significantly improve the R0 resection rate compared with surgery alone, and the former had the highest probability of being the most effective option in this context.Neoadjuvant plus adjuvant FLOT was associated with the highest probability of being the best regimen for improving OS.Owing to limited data,no definitive ranking could be determined for DFS.Considering nonsurgical SAEs,FLO has emerged as the safest treatment regimen.CONCLUSION This study provides valuable insights for clinicians when selecting perioperative treatment regimens for patients with locally resectable GC.Further studies are required to validate these findings.

文摘MicroRNAs(miRNAs)have received much attention in the past decade as potential key epigenomic regulators of tumors and cancer stem cells(CSCs).The abnormal expression of miRNAs is responsible for different phenotypes of gastric cancer stem cells(GCSCs).Some specific miRNAs could be used as promising biomarkers and therapeutic targets for the identification of GCSCs.This review summarizes the coding process and biological functions of miRNAs and demon-strates their role and efficacy in gastric cancer(GC)metastasis, drug resistance, and apoptosis, especially in the regulatory mechanism of GCSCs.It shows that the overexpression of onco-miRNAs and silencing of tumor-suppressor miRNAs can play a role in promoting or inhibiting tumor metastasis, apart from the initial formation of GC.It also discusses the epigenetic regulation and potential clinical applications of miRNAs as well as the role of CSCs in the pathogenesis of GC.We believe that this review may help in designing novel therapeutic approaches for GC.
文摘The effects of Chinese medicines on micro-circulation and blood flow velocity in arteries of the lower limbs were observed in 33 patients with arteriosclerotic obliteration(ASO).The results showed that the integral values of micro-circulation after treatment were obviously higher than those before treatment (P<0.05 or P<0.01).Blood flow velocity in arteries of the lower limbs determined with the color Doppler ultrasound detecting method after treatment were also obviously higher than those before treatment (P<0.05 or P<0.01).In tbis series of 33 ASO patients, the markedly effective rate was 36.36%,and the total effective rate was 63.64%.The observation indicates that the recipe prescribed according to the principle of supplementing qi and activating blood circulation can effectively improve micro-circulation in ASO patients, and accelerate blood flow in arteries of the lower limbs.

文摘Background:Gastrointestinal dysfunction is one of the common complications of appendectomy, which seriously affects the postoperative recovery and clinical prognosis.Through traditional Chinese medicine acupoint application is suggested for managing postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction, supporting evidence is weak. Here, the prospective randomized placebo-controlled study was designed to provide high-level evidence regarding whether traditional Chinese medicine acupoint application is effective on the gastrointestinal dysfunction after appendectomy. Methods:A total of 60 patients who underwent appendectomy in Dongfang Hospital Beijing University of Chinese Medicine(Beijing,China)from November 2016 to December 2017 were selected as study objects and randomly divided into control group(n=30)and observation group(n=30).Based on routine postoperative care, the acupoints Zusanli(ST36)and Yongquan(KI1)were selected. The control group was given acupoint application of traditional Chinese medicine placebo and the observation group was given acupoint application of clinical empirical Chinese medicine called Wentongliqi prescription. The course of treatment was performed on the 1st,2nd,and 3rd days after appendectomy, once a day and 4 hours each time. The primary outcome includes the time until the recovery time of bowel sounds(h),the first postoperative flatus(h)and first bowel movement time(h)on the 1st,2nd,and 3rd days after appendectomy. The secondary outcome includes clinical symptom score, life ability score and adverse reactions were observed and recorded on the 1st,2nd,and 3rd days after appendectomy. Results:After treatment, the recovery time of intestinal sound in the observation group was earlier than that in the control group(P<0.05).However,there were no significant difference between the two groups in first anal exhaust time and first bowel movement time, clinical symptom scores and life ability scores between the two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion:Acupoint application therapy has limited effect on the recovery of gastrointestinal dysfunction after appendectomy.Further study with large sample size is needed to confirm its therapeutic effects.
文摘Purpose:The aim of the study was to examine the knowledge need toward Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in nurses who worked in Community Health Centers, and to explore the related factors in the current situation of China. Subject and setting: Participants worked in five community health centres across Chaoyang Beijing, and each com- munity health centre includes 4-7 health stations. A questionnaire survey was administered to 218 registered commu- nity nurses using cluster sampling. The investigation was conducted after obtaining informed consent from each par- ticipant. Design: A descriptive cross-sectional design was used to gather data in this study. Instruments: The survey tool was a 5-point Likert-type questionnaire designed by experts in TCM and related fields, which had good face va- lidity and internal consistency. Results: The nursing technology of TCM scored highest score in our research (42.87±5.74). Next came disease prevention in TCM (21.02±2.67). The lowest mean score was for the usage of Chinese herbal medicine (15.03±2.77). The significant related factors for nurses' knowledge need towards TCM were educa- tional background (P 〈 0.05), working unit (P 〈 0.01), "on-the-job training on TCM" (P 〈 0.01) and "have studied lit- erature on Chinese medicine" (P 〈 0.05). Conclusion: This results suggest nurses working in community care would like to learn more about TCM. Improving community nurses' understanding and learning of TCM can promote the application and promotion of TCM nursing technology in the community. Therefore, we could adopt targeted education for community nurses, in order to meet their knowledge needs, and to promote the application of traditional Chinese medicine knowledge to the community.
