Background The genomes of worldwide poultry breeds divergently selected for performance and other phenotypic traits may also be affected by,and formed due to,past and current admixture events.Adaptation to diverse env...Background The genomes of worldwide poultry breeds divergently selected for performance and other phenotypic traits may also be affected by,and formed due to,past and current admixture events.Adaptation to diverse environments,including acclimation to harsh climatic conditions,has also left selection footprints in breed genomes.Results Using the Chicken 50K_CobbCons SNP chip,we genotyped four divergently selected breeds:two aboriginal,cold tolerant Ushanka and Orloff Mille Fleur,one egg-type Russian White subjected to artificial selection for cold tolerance,and one meat-type White Cornish.Signals of selective sweeps were determined in the studied breeds using three methods:(1)assessment of runs of homozygosity islands,(2)F_(ST) based population differential analysis,and(3)haplotype differentiation analysis.Genomic regions of true selection signatures were identified by two or more methods or in two or more breeds.In these regions,we detected 540 prioritized candidate genes supplemented them with those that occurred in one breed using one statistic and were suggested in other studies.Amongst them,SOX5,ME3,ZNF536,WWP1,RIPK2,OSGIN2,DECR1,TPO,PPARGC1A,BDNF,MSTN,and beta-keratin genes can be especially mentioned as candidates for cold adaptation.Epigenetic factors may be involved in regulating some of these important genes(e.g.,TPO and BDNF).Conclusion Based on a genome-wide scan,our findings can help dissect the genetic architecture underlying various phenotypic traits in chicken breeds.These include genes representing the sine qua non for adaptation to harsh environments.Cold tolerance in acclimated chicken breeds may be developed following one of few specific gene expression mechanisms or more than one overlapping response known in cold-exposed individuals,and this warrants further investigation.展开更多

This article provides a report on the effect of multiaxial deformation(MAD) on the structure, texture, mechanical characteristics, and corrosion resistance of the Mg-0.8(wt.)% Ca alloy. MAD was carried out on the allo...This article provides a report on the effect of multiaxial deformation(MAD) on the structure, texture, mechanical characteristics, and corrosion resistance of the Mg-0.8(wt.)% Ca alloy. MAD was carried out on the alloy in the as-cast and the annealed states in multiple passes, with a stepwise decrease in the deformation temperature from 450 to 250 ℃ in 50 ℃ steps. The cumulative true strain at the end of the process was 22.5. In the case of the as-cast alloy, this resulted in a refined microstructure characterized by an average grain size of 2.7 μm and a fraction of high-angle boundaries(HABs) of 57.6%. The corresponding values for the annealed alloy were 2.1 μm and 68.2%. The predominant mechanism of structure formation was associated with discontinuous and continuous dynamic recrystallization acting in concert. MAD was also shown to lead to the formation of a rather sharp prismatic texture in the as-cast alloy, whilst in the case of the annealed one the texture was weakened. A displacement of the basal poles {00.4} from the periphery to the center of a pole figure was observed. These changes in the microstructure and texture gave rise to a significant improvement of the mechanical characteristics of the alloy. This included an increase of the ultimate tensile strength reaching 308 MPa for annealed material and 264 MPa for the as-cast one in conjunction with a twofold increase in ductility. A further important result of the MAD processing was a reduction of the rate of electrochemical corrosion, as indicated by a significant decrease in the corrosion current density in both microstructural states of the alloy studied.展开更多
Objective:To evaluate the relation between argyrophilic nucleolar organizer region(Ag NOR)-associated proteins and clinicopathological parameters and survival in non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:A total of 20...Objective:To evaluate the relation between argyrophilic nucleolar organizer region(Ag NOR)-associated proteins and clinicopathological parameters and survival in non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:A total of 207 surgical specimens diagnosed as NSCLC were included in this study.Double-staining procedures were performed using antigen Ki-67(clone MIB-1)and silver nitrate by immunohistochemical and Ag NOR-staining methods.Results:The Ag NOR area in MIB-1-positive cells of NSCLC is related to clinicopathological parameters under the TNM(tumor,node,and metastasis)system.The survival of patients with small Ag NOR area in MIB-1-positive cells is better than that of patients with large Ag NOR area.Molecular,biological(Ag NOR area in MIB-1-positive cells),and clinicopathological(greatest tumor dimension,metastases to regional lymph nodes,histology,and differentiation)parameters are independent prognostic factors of NSCLC.Conclusion:The Ag NOR area in MIB-1-positive cells is related to clinicopathological parameters and survival in NSCLC.展开更多

The connection of the plankton community characteristics with a bioluminescent potential (BP) in the euphotic layer and a possibility to evaluate BP according to bioluminescence intensity in the near-surface layer of 0 - 10 m has been demonstrated. It has been shown that with complete correspondence with the vertical structure in the plankton community at the dark time bioluminescence intensity in 0 - 10 m layer exceeds the same in 60 - 70 m layer for one and a half orders and practically determines BP in 0 - 100 m layer. Peculiarities of the plankton organisms light emission, important for the oceanic bioluminescence registration with the space means of observation are under discussion. Equation for calculation of the measured by the space device sea luminescence level and volume of the bioluminescence intensity in the surface layer of theWorldOcean, which can be registered due to modern technical means of the space systems has been corrected. The conclusion has been done that on the base of the space data about spatial and temporal phytoplankton distribution and bioluminescence “in situ” measurements it is possible to create regional algorithms for transition from numerical estimations of the phytoplankton (chlorophyll “a”) to the day time bioluminescent potential and solution of inverse tasks at night time.展开更多

The binary has been evolving after its symbiotic nova outburst in 1977 and now it is in the nebula...A new set of low-resolution spectral and UBVJHKL-photometric observations of the symbi- otic nova PU Vul is presented. The binary has been evolving after its symbiotic nova outburst in 1977 and now it is in the nebular stage. It is found that the third orbital cycle (after 1977) was characterized by great changes in associated light curves. Now, PU Vul exhibits a sine-wave shape in all the light curves (with an amplitude in the U band of about 0.7 mag), which is typical for symbiotic stars in the quiescent state. Brightness variability due to pulsations of the cool component is now clearly visible in the VRI light curves. The amplitude of the pulsations increases from 0.5 mag in the V band to 0.8 mag in the I band. These two types of variability, as well as a very slow change in the physical parameters of the hot component due to evolution after the outburst of 1977, influence the spectral energy distribution (SED) of the system. The variability of emission lines is highly complex. Only hydrogen line fluxes vary with orbital phase. An important feature of the third orbital cycle is the first emergence of the OVI, 6828A Raman scattering line. We determine the temperature of the hot component by means of the Zanstra method applied to the He II, 4686A line. Our estimate is about 150000 K for the spectrum obtained near orbital maximum in 2014. The VO spectral index derived near pulsation minimum corresponds to M6 spectral class for the cool component of PU Vul.展开更多
AIM To investigate the structural and functional characte-ristics of palmar hypodermal tissue vascularization in Dupuytren's contracture patients of different agegroups.METHODS Eighty-seven Dupuytren's contrac...AIM To investigate the structural and functional characte-ristics of palmar hypodermal tissue vascularization in Dupuytren's contracture patients of different agegroups.METHODS Eighty-seven Dupuytren's contracture patients underwent partial fasciectomy. Twenty-two of them were less than 55 years old(Y-group, n = 22); the others were 55 and older(O-group, n = 65). In surgically excised representative tissue samples, a histomorphometric analysis of the perforating arteries of the palmar aponeurosis and stereologic analysis of hypodermis vascularity were performed. The method of laser flowmetry estimated the microcirculation of the skin of the palm.RESULTS Frequency of cases with rapid development of contracture(less than 5 years) was 13.6% in the Y-group and 40% in the O-group, P < 0.05. The external and luminal diameters of perforating arteries in palmar fascia were decreased more severely in Y. The thickness of intima increased three times compared with healthy control, and the intima/media relation also increased, especially in O. Increased numerical and volumetric micro-vessel densities in hypodermis, percentage of large vessels(more than 12 μm in diameter), and percentage of vessels with signs of periadventitial inflammatory infiltration were noted in Y. The percentage of vessels with adventitial fibrosis was greater in O than in Y. Base capillary flow in Y was increased compared to healthy control subjects and to O, and peak capillary flow was increased in comparison with control.CONCLUSION Compared to the O-group, Y-group patients exhibited more severe constrictive remodeling of palmar fascia perforating arteries supplying hypodermis but more expressed compensatory changes of its capillarization.展开更多

The rotation of erythrocyte around its own axis at more than one revolution per second in the non-uniform alternating electric field in the frequency range and the electric field intensity?is the evidence of its nonlinear polarizability. The theoretical analysis of the density of electric charges capable of overcoming the membrane potential was carried out on the basis of statistical mechanics, the thermal equilibrium in which the particle stays. The nonlinear polarizability of the erythrocyte emerges if the voltage on the membrane exceeds?, which was theoretically proved. The alternating electric field from the donor erythrocyte with the amplitude exceeding forms the constant component of the current? in the cytoplasm of the recipient erythrocyte whose energy can be considered as a signal one. Methods: A total of 17 patients with stab...Purpose: To develop a new method of femtosecond laser-assisted refractive autokeratoplasty (FRAK) in advanced keratoconus and to evaluate preliminarily early clinical results. Methods: A total of 17 patients with stable advanced keratoconus and a mean age of 33 ± 8.4 years were included in the study. FRAK was performed in all cases with the IntraLase 60 kHz (Abbott Medical Optics Inc.). A 2-step resection of corneal stroma was performed using the femtosecond laser, with the generation of a circular corneal flap with wedge-shaped profile. After flap removal, the corneal wound was sutured. Results: The surgical procedure and early postoperative period were uneventful in all cases. Mean uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA) improved significantly from 0.07 ± 0.03 preoperatively to 0.26 ± 0.13 at 3 months after surgery. Improvement in corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA) was observed in 94.1% of cases, with 76.5% of eyes showing an improvement of more than 3 lines. Between 3 and 6 months after surgery, an additional improvement was observed in UDVA and CDVA. Corneal cylinder decreased significantly from 9.1 ± 3.8 D preoperatively to 4.4 ± 2.75 D at 6 months postoperatively. Conclusions: FRAK may be an alternative treatment in stable advanced keratoconus, allowing a significant visual improvement and corneal regularization while saving the patient's own corneal tissue. The non-penetrating nature of the surgical technique helps to minimize the risks associated to this type of surgery. Further research is needed to determine the functional long-term outcomes.展开更多
The paper presents the results of the sterlet sturgeon Acipenser ruthenus reintroduction into the Kama Reservoir(Perm Krai,Russia)by sterlet fry from hatcheries into the reservoir since 2001.The effectiveness of hatch...The paper presents the results of the sterlet sturgeon Acipenser ruthenus reintroduction into the Kama Reservoir(Perm Krai,Russia)by sterlet fry from hatcheries into the reservoir since 2001.The effectiveness of hatchery releases was evaluated by monitoring gillnet sampling 2014-2020.The results showed that the species was reported throughout entire Kama Reservoir,which contrasts with 1988-1994 data,when the species was registered only at the upper part of the reservoir near the Kama River mouth.The highest number and biomass values of catch per unit effort(CPUE)of the sterlet were found in submerged river channels-the deepest habitats with flow conditions which are close to the ecological requirements of the species.The distribution of the sterlet within the channel biotopes of the reservoir is defined by reduced variability.The biggest individuals and the widest size range of the sterlet were typical for the upper area of the reservoir and Chusovskoy Bay,which have the greatest flow.The smallest sizes were typical for fish from catches near the dam of the reservoir,which is consistent with the published data on the distribution of sterlet in reservoir conditions.The presented results may indicate the artificial formation of the sterlet stock in the Kama Reservoir maintained by hatchery releases.The revealed distribution of the sterlet in the reservoir determines the direction of further research on natural reproduction and thus formation of an artificially formed population.Also,future studies are required to assess the possibility of hybridization of the sterlet of artificial origin with natural populations of the species,since the low genetic diversity of the sterlet released into the Kama Reservoir which can lead to irreversible loss of genetic individuality of the natural stocks of the species in the catchment of upper course of the Kama River.展开更多
We estimated the proportion of hatchery and natural fall spawning chum salmon returning to the Amur River using chemical markers specific to hatchery-origin fry.We used otolith microchemistry technique to identify fis...We estimated the proportion of hatchery and natural fall spawning chum salmon returning to the Amur River using chemical markers specific to hatchery-origin fry.We used otolith microchemistry technique to identify fish with artificial origin among returning spawners.First,we found that juveniles of artificial origin had higher values of the Sr:Ca molar ratio of the otoliths’edge zone compared with juveniles of natural origin,what can be related to the use of rearing feed produced from raw materials of marine origin rich in strontium.Then we observed that most of the spawners from Anyuisky Hatchery and from the Amur River mouth at the start of the spawning migration has also the higher value of Sr:Ca molar ratio of the juvenile zone of otoliths.Also,adults with higher values of the Sr:Ca molar ratio are characterized by a skewed right in the peak of the age distribution.Both,the age structure and phenological shift in the time of spawning migration of individuals with higher value of the used chemical marker corresponds to results of studies on hatchery-produced chum salmon completed at different parts on Northern Pacific.The results of this study will be used in the management of Amur fall chum salmon fisheries,and also demonstrates the necessity of the development of specific measures for increasing the survival of juvenile anadromous salmonids released at large rivers and exposed to prolonged freshwater migration to the ocean.As a further application of the methodology,we plan to identify the markers specific to each of the hatcheries and main spawning tributaries belonging to Amur River catchments.This will be an important step in the evaluation of the contribution of different stocks in mixed fisheries and also in the estimation of the effect of hatchery releases on naturally spawning stocks of Amur fall chum.Following to,our results may indicate the applicability of this approach for the determination of artificial-origin fish in a mixed sample of the Amur fall chum salmon.展开更多
The research was aimed at studying the efficiency of a nanoscale alloy of copper(Cu) and zinc(Zn) to be used as a mineral additive for feeding broiler chickens,compared to inorganic and organic forms of these elements...The research was aimed at studying the efficiency of a nanoscale alloy of copper(Cu) and zinc(Zn) to be used as a mineral additive for feeding broiler chickens,compared to inorganic and organic forms of these elements.Biochemical studies of the blood serum were performed using an automated analyzer.The mineral composition was determined by atomic emission and mass spectrometry(MS-ISP),The study was performed on broiler chickens of cross Smena 7(n=72) in the conditions of a vivarium.There were3 treatment groups with 24 chickens in each.Replacing the inorganic form of mineral supplements with the nanosized alloy resulted in a positive productive effect,with a tendency to increasing the content of serum protein.The nano scale form of metals improved(P <0.05) the activity of aminotransferases.At the same time,the liver micro structure of experimental groups is similar to that of the control.There was a moderate plethora and poor polymorphoncellular infiltration around the interlobular triads with a clear morphological orga nization of the stromal and parenchymal co mponents of the liver.However,the lack of oxidative stress was confirmed by the dynamics of catalase(CT),total superoxide dismutase(TSOD) and malondialdehyde(MDA) levels,and the concentrations of which did not exceed the reference level Replacing Cu and Zn sulfates with the nanoscale alloy(group 1) and organic form(group 2) of these elements in the diet of broiler chickens was accompanied by the increasing pool of these elements in the organisms at the end of the experiment.Copper was accumulated throughout the experiment in experimental group 1,compared to the reference,with the maximum difference in the liver of 36.5%(P ≤ 0.05),in the feathers 2.5 times(P ≤ 0.01).Assessment of the Zn level dynamics in the feathers revealed a well noticeable tendency to reducing its concentrations during the experiment in all groups.Against the background of feeding a nanoscale alloy,Zn concentration in the liver exceeded the reference by 66.8%(P ≤ 0.01) only at the end of the experiment.Thus,nanoscale forms of Cu and Zn have a cumulative effect,and may become an alternative to inorganic and organic forms of these elements in poultry nutrition.展开更多

Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of the use of a modified Zhukovsky double(vaginal and uterine)balloon to improve the results of treatment in women with obstetric hemorrhage.Methods:We conducted an observationa...Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of the use of a modified Zhukovsky double(vaginal and uterine)balloon to improve the results of treatment in women with obstetric hemorrhage.Methods:We conducted an observational controlled study including 701 puerperas,which were divided into two groups:The main group consisted of 508 women,who underwent a combined management,that is,traditional(transfusion of fresh frozen plasma,erythrocyte mass,uterotonics,hemostatic agents),surgical hemostasis in cases of caesarean section,and insertion of a double Zhukovsky balloon;while the comparison group included 193 patients,who were managed traditionally.The main group and the comparison group were divided into subgroups according to the main etiology of obstetric hemorrhage:ⅠA andⅠB-postpartum;ⅡA andⅡB-placenta accreta;ⅢA andⅢB-postpartum hysterectomy.Results:The most frequent causes of massive obstetric hemorrhage were atony of the uterus(39.2%),placenta previa(29.1%),and placental abruption(11.5%).Of the 508 balloon insertions,345(70.7%)were inserted for hemorrhage during cesarean section and 148(29.3%)for obstetric hemorrhage after spontaneous delivery.Among the obstetric hemorrhage at caesarean section,lower segment bleeding prevailed(78.1%),caused mainly by placenta previa,placenta accreta,placental abruption,polyhydramnios,and uterine scar defects.Combined management,including surgical hemostasis and insertion of vaginal and uterine balloon of Zhukovsky,reduced blood loss by 1.5 times and the number of hysterectomies by 6.72 times compared to controls.Conclusion:The use of a modified Zhukovsky double balloon in the management of obstetric hemorrhage may reduce the number of hysterectomies and the amount of blood loss.展开更多

MAD was carried out on the alloy in the as-cast and the annealed states in multiple passes, with a stepwise decrease in the deformation temperature from 450 to 250 ℃ in 50 ℃ steps. The cumulative true strain at the end of the process was 22.5. In the case of the as-cast alloy, this resulted in a refined microstructure characterized by an average grain size of 2.7 μm and a fraction of high-angle boundaries(HABs) of 57.6%. The corresponding values for the annealed alloy were 2.1 μm and 68.2%. The predominant mechanism of structure formation was associated with discontinuous and continuous dynamic recrystallization acting in concert. MAD was also shown to lead to the formation of a rather sharp prismatic texture in the as-cast alloy, whilst in the case of the annealed one the texture was weakened. A displacement of the basal poles {00.4} from the periphery to the center of a pole figure was observed. These changes in the microstructure and texture gave rise to a significant improvement of the mechanical characteristics of the alloy. This included an increase of the ultimate tensile strength reaching 308 MPa for annealed material and 264 MPa for the as-cast one in conjunction with a twofold increase in ductility. A further important result of the MAD processing was a reduction of the rate of electrochemical corrosion, as indicated by a significant decrease in the corrosion current density in both microstructural states of the alloy studied.
文摘Objective:To evaluate the relation between argyrophilic nucleolar organizer region(Ag NOR)-associated proteins and clinicopathological parameters and survival in non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:A total of 207 surgical specimens diagnosed as NSCLC were included in this study.Double-staining procedures were performed using antigen Ki-67(clone MIB-1)and silver nitrate by immunohistochemical and Ag NOR-staining methods.Results:The Ag NOR area in MIB-1-positive cells of NSCLC is related to clinicopathological parameters under the TNM(tumor,node,and metastasis)system.The survival of patients with small Ag NOR area in MIB-1-positive cells is better than that of patients with large Ag NOR area.Molecular,biological(Ag NOR area in MIB-1-positive cells),and clinicopathological(greatest tumor dimension,metastases to regional lymph nodes,histology,and differentiation)parameters are independent prognostic factors of NSCLC.Conclusion:The Ag NOR area in MIB-1-positive cells is related to clinicopathological parameters and survival in NSCLC.
文摘The analysis of the surface bioluminescence in the World Ocean registration problems for the purposes of its regions ecological express-monitoring and evaluation of the plankton algae spatial distribution at night time by the existing space systems has been proposed. The connection of the plankton community characteristics with a bioluminescent potential (BP) in the euphotic layer and a possibility to evaluate BP according to bioluminescence intensity in the near-surface layer of 0 - 10 m has been demonstrated. It has been shown that with complete correspondence with the vertical structure in the plankton community at the dark time bioluminescence intensity in 0 - 10 m layer exceeds the same in 60 - 70 m layer for one and a half orders and practically determines BP in 0 - 100 m layer. Peculiarities of the plankton organisms light emission, important for the oceanic bioluminescence registration with the space means of observation are under discussion. Equation for calculation of the measured by the space device sea luminescence level and volume of the bioluminescence intensity in the surface layer of theWorldOcean, which can be registered due to modern technical means of the space systems has been corrected. The conclusion has been done that on the base of the space data about spatial and temporal phytoplankton distribution and bioluminescence “in situ” measurements it is possible to create regional algorithms for transition from numerical estimations of the phytoplankton (chlorophyll “a”) to the day time bioluminescent potential and solution of inverse tasks at night time.

文摘A new set of low-resolution spectral and UBVJHKL-photometric observations of the symbi- otic nova PU Vul is presented. The binary has been evolving after its symbiotic nova outburst in 1977 and now it is in the nebular stage. It is found that the third orbital cycle (after 1977) was characterized by great changes in associated light curves. Now, PU Vul exhibits a sine-wave shape in all the light curves (with an amplitude in the U band of about 0.7 mag), which is typical for symbiotic stars in the quiescent state. Brightness variability due to pulsations of the cool component is now clearly visible in the VRI light curves. The amplitude of the pulsations increases from 0.5 mag in the V band to 0.8 mag in the I band. These two types of variability, as well as a very slow change in the physical parameters of the hot component due to evolution after the outburst of 1977, influence the spectral energy distribution (SED) of the system. The variability of emission lines is highly complex. Only hydrogen line fluxes vary with orbital phase. An important feature of the third orbital cycle is the first emergence of the OVI, 6828A Raman scattering line. We determine the temperature of the hot component by means of the Zanstra method applied to the He II, 4686A line. Our estimate is about 150000 K for the spectrum obtained near orbital maximum in 2014. The VO spectral index derived near pulsation minimum corresponds to M6 spectral class for the cool component of PU Vul.

文摘AIM To investigate the structural and functional characte-ristics of palmar hypodermal tissue vascularization in Dupuytren's contracture patients of different agegroups.METHODS Eighty-seven Dupuytren's contracture patients underwent partial fasciectomy. Twenty-two of them were less than 55 years old(Y-group, n = 22); the others were 55 and older(O-group, n = 65). In surgically excised representative tissue samples, a histomorphometric analysis of the perforating arteries of the palmar aponeurosis and stereologic analysis of hypodermis vascularity were performed. The method of laser flowmetry estimated the microcirculation of the skin of the palm.RESULTS Frequency of cases with rapid development of contracture(less than 5 years) was 13.6% in the Y-group and 40% in the O-group, P < 0.05. The external and luminal diameters of perforating arteries in palmar fascia were decreased more severely in Y. The thickness of intima increased three times compared with healthy control, and the intima/media relation also increased, especially in O. Increased numerical and volumetric micro-vessel densities in hypodermis, percentage of large vessels(more than 12 μm in diameter), and percentage of vessels with signs of periadventitial inflammatory infiltration were noted in Y. The percentage of vessels with adventitial fibrosis was greater in O than in Y. Base capillary flow in Y was increased compared to healthy control subjects and to O, and peak capillary flow was increased in comparison with control.CONCLUSION Compared to the O-group, Y-group patients exhibited more severe constrictive remodeling of palmar fascia perforating arteries supplying hypodermis but more expressed compensatory changes of its capillarization.
文摘Nonlinear polarizability of erythrocytes in non-uniform alternating electric field (NUAEF) was proved theoretically and experimentally by dielectrophoresis method. The paper presents experimental evidence of the nonlinear polarizability of erythrocytes in the non-uniform alternating electric field. The rotation of erythrocyte around its own axis at more than one revolution per second in the non-uniform alternating electric field in the frequency range and the electric field intensity?is the evidence of its nonlinear polarizability. The theoretical analysis of the density of electric charges capable of overcoming the membrane potential was carried out on the basis of statistical mechanics, the thermal equilibrium in which the particle stays. The nonlinear polarizability of the erythrocyte emerges if the voltage on the membrane exceeds?, which was theoretically proved. The alternating electric field from the donor erythrocyte with the amplitude exceeding forms the constant component of the current? in the cytoplasm of the recipient erythrocyte whose energy can be considered as a signal one. The nonlinear equivalent electric circuit of the cell was proposed.
文摘Purpose: To develop a new method of femtosecond laser-assisted refractive autokeratoplasty (FRAK) in advanced keratoconus and to evaluate preliminarily early clinical results. Methods: A total of 17 patients with stable advanced keratoconus and a mean age of 33 ± 8.4 years were included in the study. FRAK was performed in all cases with the IntraLase 60 kHz (Abbott Medical Optics Inc.). A 2-step resection of corneal stroma was performed using the femtosecond laser, with the generation of a circular corneal flap with wedge-shaped profile. After flap removal, the corneal wound was sutured. Results: The surgical procedure and early postoperative period were uneventful in all cases. Mean uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA) improved significantly from 0.07 ± 0.03 preoperatively to 0.26 ± 0.13 at 3 months after surgery. Improvement in corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA) was observed in 94.1% of cases, with 76.5% of eyes showing an improvement of more than 3 lines. Between 3 and 6 months after surgery, an additional improvement was observed in UDVA and CDVA. Corneal cylinder decreased significantly from 9.1 ± 3.8 D preoperatively to 4.4 ± 2.75 D at 6 months postoperatively. Conclusions: FRAK may be an alternative treatment in stable advanced keratoconus, allowing a significant visual improvement and corneal regularization while saving the patient's own corneal tissue. The non-penetrating nature of the surgical technique helps to minimize the risks associated to this type of surgery. Further research is needed to determine the functional long-term outcomes.
文摘The paper presents the results of the sterlet sturgeon Acipenser ruthenus reintroduction into the Kama Reservoir(Perm Krai,Russia)by sterlet fry from hatcheries into the reservoir since 2001.The effectiveness of hatchery releases was evaluated by monitoring gillnet sampling 2014-2020.The results showed that the species was reported throughout entire Kama Reservoir,which contrasts with 1988-1994 data,when the species was registered only at the upper part of the reservoir near the Kama River mouth.The highest number and biomass values of catch per unit effort(CPUE)of the sterlet were found in submerged river channels-the deepest habitats with flow conditions which are close to the ecological requirements of the species.The distribution of the sterlet within the channel biotopes of the reservoir is defined by reduced variability.The biggest individuals and the widest size range of the sterlet were typical for the upper area of the reservoir and Chusovskoy Bay,which have the greatest flow.The smallest sizes were typical for fish from catches near the dam of the reservoir,which is consistent with the published data on the distribution of sterlet in reservoir conditions.The presented results may indicate the artificial formation of the sterlet stock in the Kama Reservoir maintained by hatchery releases.The revealed distribution of the sterlet in the reservoir determines the direction of further research on natural reproduction and thus formation of an artificially formed population.Also,future studies are required to assess the possibility of hybridization of the sterlet of artificial origin with natural populations of the species,since the low genetic diversity of the sterlet released into the Kama Reservoir which can lead to irreversible loss of genetic individuality of the natural stocks of the species in the catchment of upper course of the Kama River.

文摘We estimated the proportion of hatchery and natural fall spawning chum salmon returning to the Amur River using chemical markers specific to hatchery-origin fry.We used otolith microchemistry technique to identify fish with artificial origin among returning spawners.First,we found that juveniles of artificial origin had higher values of the Sr:Ca molar ratio of the otoliths’edge zone compared with juveniles of natural origin,what can be related to the use of rearing feed produced from raw materials of marine origin rich in strontium.Then we observed that most of the spawners from Anyuisky Hatchery and from the Amur River mouth at the start of the spawning migration has also the higher value of Sr:Ca molar ratio of the juvenile zone of otoliths.Also,adults with higher values of the Sr:Ca molar ratio are characterized by a skewed right in the peak of the age distribution.Both,the age structure and phenological shift in the time of spawning migration of individuals with higher value of the used chemical marker corresponds to results of studies on hatchery-produced chum salmon completed at different parts on Northern Pacific.The results of this study will be used in the management of Amur fall chum salmon fisheries,and also demonstrates the necessity of the development of specific measures for increasing the survival of juvenile anadromous salmonids released at large rivers and exposed to prolonged freshwater migration to the ocean.As a further application of the methodology,we plan to identify the markers specific to each of the hatcheries and main spawning tributaries belonging to Amur River catchments.This will be an important step in the evaluation of the contribution of different stocks in mixed fisheries and also in the estimation of the effect of hatchery releases on naturally spawning stocks of Amur fall chum.Following to,our results may indicate the applicability of this approach for the determination of artificial-origin fish in a mixed sample of the Amur fall chum salmon.

文摘The research was aimed at studying the efficiency of a nanoscale alloy of copper(Cu) and zinc(Zn) to be used as a mineral additive for feeding broiler chickens,compared to inorganic and organic forms of these elements.Biochemical studies of the blood serum were performed using an automated analyzer.The mineral composition was determined by atomic emission and mass spectrometry(MS-ISP),The study was performed on broiler chickens of cross Smena 7(n=72) in the conditions of a vivarium.There were3 treatment groups with 24 chickens in each.Replacing the inorganic form of mineral supplements with the nanosized alloy resulted in a positive productive effect,with a tendency to increasing the content of serum protein.The nano scale form of metals improved(P <0.05) the activity of aminotransferases.At the same time,the liver micro structure of experimental groups is similar to that of the control.There was a moderate plethora and poor polymorphoncellular infiltration around the interlobular triads with a clear morphological orga nization of the stromal and parenchymal co mponents of the liver.However,the lack of oxidative stress was confirmed by the dynamics of catalase(CT),total superoxide dismutase(TSOD) and malondialdehyde(MDA) levels,and the concentrations of which did not exceed the reference level Replacing Cu and Zn sulfates with the nanoscale alloy(group 1) and organic form(group 2) of these elements in the diet of broiler chickens was accompanied by the increasing pool of these elements in the organisms at the end of the experiment.Copper was accumulated throughout the experiment in experimental group 1,compared to the reference,with the maximum difference in the liver of 36.5%(P ≤ 0.05),in the feathers 2.5 times(P ≤ 0.01).Assessment of the Zn level dynamics in the feathers revealed a well noticeable tendency to reducing its concentrations during the experiment in all groups.Against the background of feeding a nanoscale alloy,Zn concentration in the liver exceeded the reference by 66.8%(P ≤ 0.01) only at the end of the experiment.Thus,nanoscale forms of Cu and Zn have a cumulative effect,and may become an alternative to inorganic and organic forms of these elements in poultry nutrition.

文摘Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of the use of a modified Zhukovsky double(vaginal and uterine)balloon to improve the results of treatment in women with obstetric hemorrhage.Methods:We conducted an observational controlled study including 701 puerperas,which were divided into two groups:The main group consisted of 508 women,who underwent a combined management,that is,traditional(transfusion of fresh frozen plasma,erythrocyte mass,uterotonics,hemostatic agents),surgical hemostasis in cases of caesarean section,and insertion of a double Zhukovsky balloon;while the comparison group included 193 patients,who were managed traditionally.The main group and the comparison group were divided into subgroups according to the main etiology of obstetric hemorrhage:ⅠA andⅠB-postpartum;ⅡA andⅡB-placenta accreta;ⅢA andⅢB-postpartum hysterectomy.Results:The most frequent causes of massive obstetric hemorrhage were atony of the uterus(39.2%),placenta previa(29.1%),and placental abruption(11.5%).Of the 508 balloon insertions,345(70.7%)were inserted for hemorrhage during cesarean section and 148(29.3%)for obstetric hemorrhage after spontaneous delivery.Among the obstetric hemorrhage at caesarean section,lower segment bleeding prevailed(78.1%),caused mainly by placenta previa,placenta accreta,placental abruption,polyhydramnios,and uterine scar defects.Combined management,including surgical hemostasis and insertion of vaginal and uterine balloon of Zhukovsky,reduced blood loss by 1.5 times and the number of hysterectomies by 6.72 times compared to controls.Conclusion:The use of a modified Zhukovsky double balloon in the management of obstetric hemorrhage may reduce the number of hysterectomies and the amount of blood loss.
