We consider the lepton-flavor violating (LFV) processes li → ljγ in the framework of topcolor-assistedtechnicolor (TC2) models. We find that the new gauge boson Z' predicted by TC2 models can give significantlycontributions to these processes via the flavor-changing couplings Z'lilj. The present experimental bound on the LFVprocess μ→ eγ gives severe constraints on the TC2 models. Using other experimental constraints on the Z' mass Mz,we obtain constraints on the lepton mixing factors KTμ and KTe. The future LFV experiments will probe into TC2models. 展开更多

Ionization of Atoms and the Thomas-Fermi Model for the Electric Field in Crystal Planar Channels

The electric field in the crystal planar channels is studied by the Thomas Fermi method. The Thomas-Fermi equation and the corresponding boundary conditions are derived for the crystal planar channels. The numericalsolution for the electric field in the channels between (110) planes of the single crystal silicon and the critical angles ofchannelling protons in them are shown. Reasonable agreements with the experimental data are obtained. The resultsshow that the Thomas-Fermi method for the crystal works well in this study, and a microscopic research of the channelelectric field with the contribution of all atoms and the atomic ionization being taken into account is practical. 展开更多

On the Mixed Propagator Approach to ρ-ω Mixing

The mixed propagator (MP) approach to ρ-ω mixing is discussed. It is found that under the pole-approximation assumption the results of MP approach is not compatible both with the effective Lagrangian theory andwith the experiment measurement criterion. To overcome these inconsistent, we propose a new MP approach in whichthe physical states of ρ and ω are determined by the requirement of experimental measurement to meson resonance. Interms of this new MP approach, the EM pion form factor Fπ and form factors of ρo →π0γ and of ω→πo γ are derived.The results of Fπ are in good agreement with data. The form factor of ρo →π0γ exhibits a hidden charge-asymmetryenhancement effect which agrees with the prediction of the effective Lagrangian theory. 展开更多

In the framework of topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) theory, we study a flavor changing single top quarkproduction process pp(pp) →Ⅱ0t → tc(tc) at upgraded Tevatron and LHC. The results show that with the flavor changingcoupling of neutral toppion to top and charm quark, toppion provides a large te-channel resonance effect. The signal ofsingle top production could be detected at LHC. Otherwise, the narrow peak in the invariant mass distribution could beclearly detected both at upgraded Tevatron and LHC. Therefore, such single top production process provides a uniqueway to test TC2 model via the detection of tc-channel neutral toppion contribution. 展开更多

Bosonic part of SU(2)L U(1)Y effective chiral Lagrangian for electroweak symmetry breaking is derived from an underlying technicolor theory with no approximation. The underlying theory is assumed to be the most general gauge theory without fundamental scalars. A condensate is required to exist in the theory which breaks SU(2)L U(1)Y dynamically to U(1)em and the anomaly of the theory caused by gauge interaction must be cancelled. The formulation offers general definitions in terms of underlying theory for the low energy constants in effective chiral Lagrangian. 展开更多

Total reaction cross sections σR for some proton-rich isotones (N = 10) near ^(23)Al on a carbon target have been measured at intermediate energies in the experiment performed at the Radioactive Ion Beam Line of the Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou. The Z-dependence of σR shows a remarkable enhancement for ^(23)Al relative to its neighbours. The difference factor d has been deduced from the measured σR by using the Glauber or Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck models. From the above analysis, a possible one-proton halo structure is suggested for ^(23)Al. 展开更多
