Magnesia(MgO) nanoparticles were produced from magnesite ore(MgCO3) using ball mill. The crystalline size, morphology and specific SSA were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis, transmission electron microscopy and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method, respectively. MgO nanoparticle-incorporated nylon6 solutions were electrospun to produce nanofiber mats. Surface morphology and internal structure of the prepared hybrid nanofiber mats were examined by scanning electron microscopy and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, respectively. The fire retardancy and antibacterial activity(Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli) of coated fabrics made from MgO/nylon 6 hybrid nanofiber are better than those from nylon6 nanofiber. 展开更多

In this paper, a simple and facile surfactant assisted combustion synthesis is reported for the ZnO nanoparticles. The synthesis of ZnO-NPs has been done with the assistance of non-ionic surfactant TWEEN 80. The effect of fuel variations and comparative study of fuel urea and glycine have been studied by using characterization techniques like X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and particle size analyzer. From XRD, it indicates the presence of hexagonal wurtzite structure for ZnO-NPs. Using X-ray broadening, crystallite sizes and lattice strain on the peak broadening of ZnO-NPs were studied by using Williamson-Hall (W-H) analysis and size-strain plot. Strain, stress and energy density parameters were calculated for the XRD peaks of all the samples using (UDM), uniform stress deformation model (USDM), uniform deformation energy density model (UDEDM) and by the size-strain plot method (SSP). The results of mean particle size showed an inter correlation with W-H analysis, SSP, particle analyzer and TEM results. 展开更多

The X-Ray diffraction (XRD) analysis revealed that the synthesized ZnO nanopowder has the pure wurtzite structure. The ZnO powder shows polycrystalline nature having the crystallite size 21.25 nm. Crystallite size is calculated using Debye-Scherrer’s and Williamson-Hall equations. Porosity, Cell Volume, Micro strain, Morphology Index, Lorentz factor and Lorentz Polarization factor are also studied. From differential thermal analysis (DTA) & thermo gravimetric (TGA) it has been confirmed that nano powder has the phase purity. The weight loss percentage of the sample is 2.8385%. The particle size obtained 29 nm is in good agreement with the crystallite size calculated from X-Ray Diffraction pattern with the Particle Size Analyzer. The morphology of as prepared Zinc oxide nanopowders are characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM). From specific area electron diffraction (SAED) pattern has specified the d-spacing and corresponding planes which coincide with the XRD d-spacing and planes. 展开更多

Series of bulk and nanostructured La0.7SrxCa0.3-xMnO3(x = 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20) manganites were synthesized and characterized using different techniques. Series of bulk and nanostructured La0.7SrxCa0.3-xMnO3(x = 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20) manganites were synthesized and characterized using different techniques. In the series, both the bulk and nanostructured La0.7Sr0.10Ca0.20MnO3 and La0.7Sr0.20Ca0.10MnO3 manganites have orthorhombic and rhombohedral structures, whereas La0.7Sr0.15Ca0.15MnO3 manganite has rhombohedral and orthorhombic structures, respectively. Online ultrasonic velocity and attenuation measurements were taken through an indigenously designed ultrasonic setup, and the analysis was done from 300 to 400 K during the aging of the samples to explore the structural/phase transitions. The bulk and nanocrystalline La0.7SrxCa0.3-xMnO3 perovskite samples show the particle size distribution in the range of 197-943 and 24-93 nm, respectively. The addition of Sr^2+ alters the size of particles, which decrease in size. The observed anomaly in ultrasonic velocities, attenuations, and elastic moduli is correlated with the ferromagnetic-paramagnetic(FM-PM) transition temperature(TC) in both bulk and nanocrystalline perovskites. In addition, the shift in TC and the magnitude and width of observed anomaly are correlated with the value of x to study the behavior of TC. 展开更多

Apoptosis is an important process for maintaining tissue homeostasis and eliminating abnormal cells in multicellular organisms.Abnormality in apoptosis often leads to severe diseases such as cancers. Better understanding of its mechanisms and processes is therefore important. Accompanying molecular biology events of apoptosis is a series of cellular morphology changes: nucleus condensation, cell shrinkage and rounding, cell surface blebbing, dynamic blebbing, apoptotic membrane protrusions and nucleus fragmentations and finally, the formation and release of apoptotic bodies. It is difficult to detect cellular changes in the early phase of apoptosis due to the subtle changes at this phase. In the current study, we induced apoptosis in He La cells with H2 O2 and used nuclear dye Hoechst 33258, mitochondria, lysosome and cytoplasmic protein specific aggregation-induced emission fluorogens(AIEgens), TPE-Ph-In, 2 M-DABS and BSPOTPE to successfully perform live cell multiplexed imaging to investigate early apoptosis cellular events. We showed the gradual dissipation of mitochondria membrane potential until it is nondetectable by TPE-Ph-In. Increased mitophagy detected by TPE-Ph-In and 2 M-DABS, condensed nucleus detected by Hoechst33258, increased permeability and/or reduced integrity of nuclear membrane, and increased intracellular vesicles detected by2 M-DABS are some of the early events of apoptosis. 展开更多
