As a widely used food preservative,methyl paraben was experimentally evidenced with serious hormonelike adverse effects.Herein,a high performance thin-layer chromatography platformed bioluminescent bioautography and i...As a widely used food preservative,methyl paraben was experimentally evidenced with serious hormonelike adverse effects.Herein,a high performance thin-layer chromatography platformed bioluminescent bioautography and image analysis for the selective quantification and confirmation of methyl paraben was proposed and validated in vinegar and coconut juice.First,the detectability of the bioautography to the analyte on different layer materials was estimated,revealing that normal silica gel was the best choice.After that,the liquid of sample extract and working solution were separated to overcome the background noises due to co-extracted matrices.The separation result was then coupled to the optimized bioautography,enabling instant and straightforward screening of the targeted conpound.For accurate quantification,bioluninescent inhibition pattern caused by the analyte was processed by image analysis,giving useful sensitivity(LOD>16 mg/kg),precision(RSD<10.1%)and accuracy(spike-recovery rate 76.9%-112.2%).Finally,the suspected result was confirmed by determining its MS fingerprint,further strengthening the reliability of screening.展开更多

In order to assess the capacity of Aquabacterium parvum sp. strain B6 for nitrate-dependent Fe(Ⅱ) oxidation,batch cultivation was conducted, and its ability to oxidize Fe(Ⅱ) coupled to nitrate reduction in the prese...In order to assess the capacity of Aquabacterium parvum sp. strain B6 for nitrate-dependent Fe(Ⅱ) oxidation,batch cultivation was conducted, and its ability to oxidize Fe(Ⅱ) coupled to nitrate reduction in the presence of diverse organic substrates was studied. Meanwhile, the nitrate-removal rate of B6 with various impact factors was further optimized by the response surface methodology(RSM). The results show that strain B6 is capable of utilizing different organic compounds as substrates for nitrate reduction. Compared with yeast extract, B6 showed a greater potential of chemical oxygen demand(COD)degradation and cell proliferation with acetate and glucose mediums, respectively, while citrate was not beneficial for this process due to its low consumption rate. RSM analysis demonstrated that the maximum nitrate-reduction rate of 30.64% could be achieved with an initial pH of 7.4,incubation temperature of 25.0 °C, and carbon source concentration of 266.10 mg/L.展开更多

The mass elevation effect(MEE)of the Tibetan Plateau(TP)has attracted the attention of geographers because of its significant influence on the Asian climate,snow line,timberline,and other important climate-ecological ...The mass elevation effect(MEE)of the Tibetan Plateau(TP)has attracted the attention of geographers because of its significant influence on the Asian climate,snow line,timberline,and other important climate-ecological boundaries of the plateau and on global ecological patterns.In recent years,much progress has been made in quantifying the MEE of TP.However,factors that affect the size of MEE have not been examined in depth,and the key factors still remain unclear.Based on quantification of MEE for each mountain basal elevation plot,this study identifies the factors that contribute significantly to MEE of the plateau.Seven factors are considered,including mountain basal elevation,distance from the core zone of MEE,thermal continentality,maximum elevation,height difference,area,and difference of underlying surface(with the yearly max"Normalized Difference Vegetation Index"(NDVI)serving as a quantitative indicator).We also used these seven factors as independent variables to develop a multiple linear regression model for MEE of the plateau.Results show that:(1)the determination coefficient(R2)of the model reaches as high as 0.877,and the contributions of mountain basal elevation,distance from the core zone of MEE,thermal continentality,maximum elevation,topographical height difference,area,and NDVI are 39.77%,23.02%,14.48%,5.78%,11.41%,2.92%,and 2.62%,respectively,with mountain basal elevation and the distance from the core of MEE as the most important factors;(2)thermal continentality and MEE are significantly correlated,and maximum elevation only has a coupling relationship with MEE,with height difference and NDVI contributing little to MEE.This study deepens our understanding of MEE and its forming factors in the Tibetan Plateau.展开更多

In this study, we discuss the applications of the support vector machine with mixture of kernel (SVM-MK) to design a text classification system. Differing from the standard SVM, the SVM-MK uses the 1-norm based object function and adopts the convex combinations of single feature basic kernels. Only a linear programming problem needs to be resolved and it greatly reduces the computational costs. More important, it is a transparent model and the optimal feature subset can be obtained automatically. A real Chinese corpus from FudanUniversityis used to demonstrate the good performance of the SVM- MK.展开更多

The increasing trend towards independent fruit packaging demands a high appearance quality of individually packed fruits.In this paper,we propose an improved YOLOv5-based model,YOLO-Banana,to effectively grade banana ...The increasing trend towards independent fruit packaging demands a high appearance quality of individually packed fruits.In this paper,we propose an improved YOLOv5-based model,YOLO-Banana,to effectively grade banana appearance quality based on the number of banana defect points.Due to the minor and dense defects on the surface of bananas,existing detection algorithms have poor detection results and high missing rates.To address this,we propose a densitybased spatial clustering of applications with noise(DBSCAN)and K-means fusion clustering method that utilizes refined anchor points to obtain better initial anchor values,thereby enhancing the network’s recognition accuracy.Moreover,the optimized progressive aggregated network(PANet)enables better multi-level feature fusion.Additionally,the non-maximum suppression function is replaced with a weighted non-maximum suppression(weighted NMS)function based on distance intersection over union(DIoU).Experimental results show that the model’s accuracy is improved by 2.3%compared to the original YOLOv5 network model,thereby effectively grading the banana appearance quality.展开更多
