Application and realization of key technologies in China railway e-ticketing system

Purpose–With the yearly increase of mileage and passenger volume in China’s high-speed railway,the problems of traditional paper railway tickets have become increasingly prominent,including complexity of business handling process,low efficiency of ticket inspection and high cost of usage and management.This paper aims to make extensive references to successful experiences of electronic ticket applications both domestically and internationally.The research on key technologies and system implementation of railway electronic ticket with Chinese characteristics has been carried out.Design/methodology/approach–Research in key technologies is conducted including synchronization technique in distributed heterogeneous database system,the grid-oriented passenger service record(PSR)data storage model,efficient access to massive PSR data under high concurrency condition,the linkage between face recognition service platforms and various terminals in large scenarios,and two-factor authentication of the e-ticket identification code based on the key and the user identity information.Focusing on the key technologies and architecture the of existing ticketing system,multiple service resources are expanded and developed such as electronic ticket clusters,PSR clusters,face recognition clusters and electronic ticket identification code clusters.Findings–The proportion of paper ticket printed has dropped to 20%,saving more than 2 billion tickets annually since the launch of the application of E-ticketing nationwide.The average time for passengers to pass through the automatic ticket gates has decreased from 3 seconds to 1.3 seconds,significantly improving the efficiency of passenger transport organization.Meanwhile,problems of paper ticket counterfeiting,reselling and loss have been generally eliminated.Originality/value–E-ticketing has laid a technical foundation for the further development of railway passenger transport services in the direction of digitalization and intelligence. 展开更多

This research takes China-aided construction projects in Asia since the Belt and Road Initiative as examples to explore the applicability of Chinese architectural design standards in other Asian countries.So far,the standards demonstrated the highest applicability in South Asia is the best followed by Southeast Asia.Chinese architectural design standards for educational buildings showed the highest applicability,followed by office,medical,and sports buildings.This study puts forward some strategies to improve the applicability of Chinese architectural design standards.These strategies include integrating regionalism and local cultural traditions,optimizing energy efficiency,and aligning designs with local usage habits.This study serves as a reference for similar projects in the future. 展开更多

Incompatible thermal deformation of interlayers and corresponding damage mechanism of high-speed railway track structure

In the service period,the instability of ballastless track bed are mostly related to the damage of interlayers which are mainly resulted from the incompatible thermal deformation of interlayers.The temperature field within the ballastless track bed shows significant non-uniformity due to the large difference in the materials of various structure layers,leading to a considerable difference in the force bearing of different structure layers.Unit Ballastless Track Bed(UBTB)is most significantly affected by temperature gradient.The thermal deformation of interlayers within UBTB follows the trend of ellipsoid-shape buckling under the effect of the temperature gradient,resulting in a variation of the contact relationship between structure layers and a significant periodic irregularity on the rail.When the train travels on the periodically irregular rail,the structure layers are locally contacted,and the contact zone moves with the variation of the wheel position.This wheel-followed local contact greatly magnifies the interlayer stress,causes interlayer damage,and leads to a considerable increase in the bending moment of the track slab.Continuous Ballastless Track Bed(CBTB)is most significantly affected by the overall temperature variation,which may cause damage to the joint in CBTB.Under the combined action of the overall temperature rise and the temperature gradient,the interlayer damage continuously expands,resulting in bonding failure between structural layers.The thermal force in the continuous track slabs will cause the up-heave buckling and the sudden large deformation of the track slab,and the loss of constraint boundary of the horizontal stability.For the design of a ballastless track structure,the change of bearing status and structural damage related to the incompatible thermal deformation of interlayers should be considered. 展开更多

Purpose–The type 120 emergency valve is an essential braking component of railway freight trains,butcorresponding diaphragms consisting of natural rubber(NR)and chloroprene rubber(CR)exhibit insufficientaging resistance and low-temperature resistance,respectively.In order to develop type 120 emergency valverubber diaphragms with long-life and high-performance,low-temperatureresistant CR and NR were processed.Design/methodology/approach–The physical properties of the low-temperature-resistant CR and NRwere tested by low-temperature stretching,dynamic mechanical analysis,differential scanning calorimetryand thermogravimetric analysis.Single-valve and single-vehicle tests of type 120 emergency valves werecarried out for emergency diaphragms consisting of NR and CR.Findings–The low-temperature-resistant CR and NR exhibited excellent physical properties.The elasticityand low-temperature resistance of NR were superior to those of CR,whereas the mechanical properties of thetwo rubbers were similar in the temperature range of 0℃–150℃.The NR and CR emergency diaphragms metthe requirements of the single-valve test.In the low-temperature single-vehicle test,only the low-temperaturesensitivity test of the NR emergency diaphragm met the requirements.Originality/value–The innovation of this study is that it provides valuable data and experience for futuredevelopment of type 120 valve rubber diaphragms. 展开更多

The Sustainable Wetland Management adopted for this study depicts that, the identification of drivers and impacts is needed first, in other to get a clearer roadmap, after which the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework would come into play to serve as a pathway for Sustainability. The study evaluates how Sierra Leone might implement the Framework’s proposed strategies in National Wetland Management. As a result, the research tried to thoroughly examine the factors that contribute to wetland degradation as well as the effects they have on the people who live nearby. The purposive sampling method was used to administer 385 structured questionnaires to inhabitants. The data was then processed in an Excel spreadsheet. Microsoft Publisher was used to draw the framework and a descriptive analysis was done. Results indicated that;the majority of the inhabitants of Aberdeen Creek are traders/self-employed, furthermore, the majority chose the place because it’s less expensive and nearer to the workplace, settlement expansion and pollution are the two most common degrading activities, while flooding and health-related issues are some of the consequences, and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework is regarded to be a perfect tool for wetland management. It was concluded that to accomplish the objectives in the framework, it is necessary to have both political and social will. High altitude deadaptation affects the health of population returned to the plain. We examined major physiological functions in 348 healthy control subjects and 626 Qinghai-Tibet railway construction workers who returned to the plain from the Qinghai-Tibet plateau. Blood indices, such as hemoglobin, hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration and platelet larger cell ratio, of the returned group that had stayed at high altitude more than 3 years were significantly higher than those of the control group. Red blood cell distribution width and platelet were significantly lower in the returned group than in the control group. Compared to the control group, five years after returning to the plain, the returned group had higher mean corpuscular hemoglobin and lower red blood cell distribution width. Detection rate of hypotension and low pulse pressure were significantly higher in the returned group than in the control group at 20 months after the return, and cardiothoracic ratio was significantly higher in the returned group than in the control group at 40 months after the return. Short-term memory function was significantly lower in the returned group than in the control group. Total triiodothyronine and thyroid-stimulating hormone were significantly lower, but total thyroxine and free triiodothyronine were significantly higher in the returned group than in the control group. Sex hormones level returned to normal level in the returned group. Superoxide dismutase was significantly higher and malondialdehyde was significantly lower in the returned group than in the control group. Fatty acid binding protein was significantly higher in the returned group than in the control group, and this difference maintained with time after the return. We conclude that physiological functions of most organs in returned population after exposed to high altitude can not be completely restored to the normal level in a short period of time. 展开更多

Effect of Factors on Physiology Acclimatization of Construction Groups Entering Again into Plateau in Early Days

Means: The pre-work physical inspection data of 2528 people,who participated the construction on the Plateau (altitude 3080 m) during 2002-2004, and then returned during 2003-2005, were studied. Before the inspections, these people had been on the Plateau for 7~15 days to get them adaptable to the altitude conditions. These people were divided randomly into Long Break Group (break time≥90 d, n=984) and Short Break Group (break time ≤60 d, n=1544). Then they were divided into sub-Groups based on gender and age. Statistical analysis was then done using SPSS 12.0 software. Results: (1)The means of sBP,dBP,HR, and Hb of the Long Break Group, after 7~15 days of adaptability period, were lower than that of Short Break Group; while SpO2 of Long Break Group was slightly higher than that of Short Break Group.(Mean p≤0.001;The abnormal rates of ALT,BUN, BP of the Long Break Group were also significantly lower than that of Short Break Group (p<0.05, or p<0.001;(2)In the same group, or different groups, the BP,Hb of female sub-Group was better than male sub-Group(p<0.05, or p<0.001. The BP,ECG of <40 y sub-Group is better than ≥40 y sub-Group(p<0.05 or, p<0.001. Conclusion: 3-month, or even longer break in winter has positive impacts on the early physical conditions of the constructors on the Plateau (esp. males over 40 years old) 展开更多

This paper makes an analysis of the impact on the structure of the corridortype train working diagram by increasing the 350 km/h train pairs of Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway(HSR).According to the requirements of operation speed diversity,the multi-station receiving characteristics of cross-line trains and different train stopping schemes,this paper proposes a scheme of adding 350 km/h train pairs via computer analysis of carrying capability mode.The scheme is divided into three stages:(1)Initial stage:It is planned to increase trains running at 350 km/h,with 15~26 pairs of trains put into operation;(2)Rapid increase stage:27~142 pairs of 350 km/h trains are put into operation;(3)Full replacement stage:143~195 pairs of 350 km/h trains are put into operation,during which the number of cross-line trains under operation is controlled,the number of cross-line trains in each section is determined,the operation and connection scheme of cross-line trains is adjusted and the train stopping scheme is optimized.The results of this study were used for the adjustment of the train working diagram in the third quarter of June 25,2021 to increase the number of 350 km/h train pairs from 19 to 30 on Beijing-Shanghai HSR.350 km/h trains are evenly arranged during 7:00—19:00 on the train working diagram and 300 km/h trains are arranged by making full use of every time and space,to improve the travelling speed on Beijing-Shanghai HSR as a whole. 展开更多
