Study on the optimization of the combined blown converter process in Chongqing Iron and Steel Company

The effects of lance height and bottom blown flowrate on the mixed time, the splashing amount, the penetrating depth, and the level fluctuation of an 85 t combined blown converter have been studied using a water model. The results show that the maximal stirring energy is provided to the bath at the top lance height of about 50-100 mm. When the top lance height is in the range ofg0- 110 mm, the splashing amount caused by the top jet can reach the maximal value. The appropriate operational parameters of Chongqing Iron and Steel Company （CISC） converter have been established that the top lance height is 1600-1760 mm and the bottom blowing flowrate is 240-480 Nm^3/h in the primary phase of a heat, 1100-1300 mm and 160-200 Nm^3/h in the second phase, and 1040-1120 mm and 200-350 Nm^3/h in the end phase. Also, the trial shows that the metallurgical result of the studied blow pattern is better than that of the former pattern. At the starting 3-4 min of a heat, the strong splashing is eliminated. 2008 University of Science and Technology Beijing. All rights reserved.

New Type Regulating Valve Applied in Cooling System of Blast Furnace

A new type regulating valve with the cooling mode of constant temperature difference water supply, temperature difference self operated regulating valve, was introduced into blast furnace cooling system to overcome shortcomings of the cooling mode of constant flow rate water supply. The results show that the temperature difference between inlet and outlet water of cooling wall can be decreased greatly and steadily, and the water supply for blast furnace cooling can be reduced considerably.

Acupuncture for Primary Dysmenorrhea: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Objective： To observe the clinical therapeutic effects of acupuncture treatment for primary dysmenorrhea. Methods： 122 cases of primary dysmenorrhea were randomly divided into three groups. Fifty-two cases in the acupuncture group were treated with acupuncture. Forty cases in the medication group were treated with oral administration of Ibuprofen. Thirty cases in the placebo group were treated with oral administration of vitamin B1. The therapeutic effects were observed after treatments for three menstrual cycles. Results： The total effective rate was 96.2% in the acupuncture group, 80.0% in the medication group and 13.3% in the placebo group. By statistical management, the differences among the acupuncture group, the medication group, and placebo group were statistically significant （P〈0.05）. Conclusion： Both acupuncture and western medication are effective for primary dysmenorrhea and acupuncture treatment is better than Ibuprofen

Study on brain network function of the specific connection between Hégǔ(合谷LI4)and the facial-oral area

Objective:This study was designed to observe the effect of electroacupuncture at Hégǔ(合谷L14),or Hòuxī(后溪SI3) or Wàiguān(外关TE5) acupoints on the function of the brain regions of a healthy human,and to explore the neural information mechanism of a specific connection between LI4 and the facialoral area from the point of view of the brain function connection network.A further objective was to enrich knowledge of the specific connection between the body surface and the meridian route,and the specificity of acupoint effects.Methods:A total of 30 healthy volunteers were randomly assigned to LI4,SI3,and TE5 groups.The members of each group were stimulated with electroacupuncture,and their heads were scanned using fMRI.DPARSFA 2.4 and REST 1.8 software were used for data preprocessing and statistical analysis.The paired t-test was used within group and the double sample t-test was used for two-group comparisons.Results:In healthy people,left LI4 with electroacupuncture mainly caused a decrease of the functional connection of the right orofacial motor area of the brain,which remained decreased after removing the needle.When LI4 was compared with SI3 and TE5,LI4 caused a more significant decline in the functional connection of the right side of the brain during acupuncture.Conclusions:Acupuncture at LI4 has a significant effect on the function of the face-and mouth-related areas in the brain,and there is a continuous effect.It is suggested that LI4 and the face and mouth have a specific relationship in the brain,which is most obvious during acupuncture.

Treatment of 23 Cases of Supraorbital Neuralgia by Acupuncture plus Semi-conductive Laser

23 cases of the patients with supraorbital neuralgia were treated by puncturing Yangbai （GB 14） toward Yuyao （Extra）, Zanzhu （BL 2）, Taiyang （Extra）, Touwei （ST 8）, Zhongzhu （TE 3） and Neiting （ST 44） on the sick side, plus laser radiation on a site about 1 cm apart from the midpoint of the eyebrow of the sick side. After 10 treatments, the results showed cure in 19 cases and remarkable effect in 4 cases.
