By decomposing the variable flexural stiffness and mass per unit length into reference invariant and variant parts, the perturbation theory is introduced to obtain an approximate analytical formula of the natural frequencies of the non-uniform AFG beams with different boundary conditions.Furthermore, assuming polynomial distributions of Young's modulus and the mass density, the numerical results of the AFG beams with various taper ratios are obtained and compared with the published literature results. The discussion results illustrate that the proposed method yields an effective estimate of the first three order natural frequencies for the AFG tapered beams. The non-linear differential equations of the spinning piezoelectric beam governing two transverse vibrations are derived by using two Euler angles transformation and extended Hamilton principle, wherein an additional piezoelectric coupling term and different linear terms are present in contrast to the traditional shaft model. Linear frequencies are obtained by solving the standard eigenvalues of the linearized system directly, and the non-linear frequencies and non-linear complex modes are achieved by using the method of multiple scales. For free vibrations analysis of a spinning piezoelectric beam, the non-linear modal motions are investigated as forward and backward precession with different spinning speeds. The responses to the initial conditions for such a gyroscopic system are studied, and a beat phenomenon is found, which are then validated by numerical simulation. The influences of some parameters such as electrical resistance, rotary inertia and spinning speeds to the non-linear dynamics of a spinning piezoelectric beam are investigated.展开更多

The equation of motion of each sub-beam with piezoelectric patches is established based on Hamilton's principle with an assumed mode method. The velocity feedback control algorithm is used to design the controller. The free and forced vibration behaviors of the two-span beams with the piezoelectric actuators and sensors are analyzed. The vibration properties of the disordered two-span beams caused by misplacing the middle support are also researched. In addition, the effects of the length disorder degree on the vibration performances of the disordered beams are investigated. From the numerical results, it can be concluded that the disorder in the length of the periodic two-span beams will cause vibration localizations of the free and forced vibrations of the structure, and the vibration localization phenomenon will be more and more obvious when the length difference between the two sub-beams increases. Moreover, when the velocity feedback control is used, both the forced and the free vibrations will be suppressed. Meanwhile, the vibration behaviors of the two-span beam are tuned.展开更多

Two-degree of freedom(DOF)nonlinear dynamic models for the time-varying coefficients describing the transverse vibration of the deploying laminate under the combined actions of a first-order aerodynamic force and piezoelectric excitation were obtained by selecting a suitable time-dependent modal function satisfying the displacement boundary conditions and applying second-order discretization using the Galerkin method. Using a numerical method, the time history curves of the deploying laminate were obtained, and its nonlinear dynamic characteristics, including extension speed and different piezoelectric excitations, were studied. The results suggest that the piezoelectric excitation has a clear effect on the change of the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of such piezoelectric laminated composite plates. The nonlinear vibration of the deploying cantilevered laminate can be effectively suppressed by choosing a suitable voltage and polarity.展开更多

A modal impact test was conducted in order to determine the free vibration characteristics. Natural frequencies and vibration mode shapes were obtained via measurement in LMS Test. Lab. The frequency response functions were identified and computed by force and acceleration signals, and then mode shapes of this morphing wing structure were subsequently identified by PolyMAX modal parameter estimation method. FEM modal analysis was also implemented and its numerical results convincingly presented the mode shape and natural frequency characteristics were in good agreement with those obtained from experimental modal analysis. Experimental study in this paper focuses on the transverse response of morphing wing as its moveable part is deploying or retreating. Vibration response to different rotation speeds have been collected, managed and analyzed through the use of comparison methodology with each other. Evident phenomena have been discovered including the resonance on which most analysis is focused because of its potential use to generate large amplitude vibration of specific frequency or to avoid such resonant frequencies from a wide spectrum of response. Manufactured deployable-retractable wings are studied in stage of experimental modal analysis, in which some nonlinear vibration resulted should be particularly noted because such wing structure displays a low resonant frequency which is always optimal to be avoided for structural safety and stability.展开更多

文摘A geometric model of curved blood vessels is established based on some reasonable hypotheses; the nonlinear motion mechanics model of the curved blood vessel is established according to basic mechanics laws. This model includes much more physiological factors. It couples the interaction of blood flow with mechanical factors such as the displacement, deformation, strain and stress etc. of the curved blood vessel. It is of great importance for investigating the circulation rules of the cardiovascular system and the nonlinear pulse wave propagation in curved blood vessels.
文摘In this paper, the nonlinear dynamic behavior of a string-beam coupled system subjected to external, parametric and tuned excitations is presented. The governing equations of motion are obtained for the nonlinear transverse vibrations of the string-beam coupled system which are described by a set of ordinary differential equations with two degrees of freedom. The case of 1:1 internal resonance between the modes of the beam and string, and the primary and combined resonance for the beam is considered. The method of multiple scales is utilized to analyze the nonlinear responses of the string-beam coupled system and obtain approximate solutions up to and including the second-order approximations. All resonance cases are extracted and investigated.Stability of the system is studied using frequency response equations and the phase-plane method.Numerical solutions are carried out and the results are presented graphically and discussed. The effects of the different parameters on both response and stability of the system are investigated. The reported results are compared to the available published work.

文摘The piezoelectric materials are used to investigate the active vibration control of ordered/disordered periodic two-span beams. Meanwhile, the vibration behaviors of the two-span beam are tuned.

文摘Nonlinear energy sink(NES)can passively absorb broadband energy from primary oscillators.Proper multiple NESs connected in parallel exhibit superior performance to single-degree-of-freedom(SDOF)NESs.In this work,a linear coupling spring is installed between two parallel NESs so as to expand the application scope of such vibration absorbers. The vibration absorption of the parallel and parallel-coupled NESs and the system response induced by the coupling spring are studied. The results show that the responses of the system exhibit a significant difference when the heavier cubic oscillators in the NESs have lower stiffness and the lighter cubic oscillators have higher stiffness. Moreover, the efficiency of the parallel-coupled NES is higher for medium shocks but lower for small and large shocks than that of the parallel NESs.The parallel-coupled NES also shows superior performance for medium harmonic excitations until higher response branches are induced. The performance of the parallel-coupled NES and the SDOF NES is compared. It is found that, regardless of the chosen SDOF NES parameters, the performance of the parallel-coupled NES is similar or superior to that of the SDOF NES in the entire force range.

文摘Turbo-machineries,as key components, have wide applications in civil, aerospace, and mechanical engineering.By calculating natural frequencies and dynamical deformations,we have explained the rationality of the series form for the aerodynamic force of the blade under the subsonic flow in our earlier studies. In this paper, the subsonic aerodynamic force obtained numerically is applied to the low pressure compressor blade with a low constant rotating speed. The blade is established as a pre-twist and presetting cantilever plate with a rectangular section under combined excitations, including the centrifugal force and the aerodynamic force. In view of the first-order shear deformation theory and von-K′arm′an nonlinear geometric relationship, the nonlinear partial differential dynamical equations for the warping cantilever blade are derived by Hamilton’s principle. The second-order ordinary differential equations are acquired by the Galerkin approach. With consideration of 1:3 internal resonance and 1/2 sub-harmonic resonance, the averaged equation is derived by the asymptotic perturbation methodology.Bifurcation diagrams, phase portraits, waveforms, and power spectrums are numerically obtained to analyze the effects of the first harmonic of the aerodynamic force on nonlinear dynamical responses of the structure.

文摘Using Reddy’s high-order shear theory for laminated plates and Hamilton’s principle, a nonlinear partial differential equation for the dynamics of a deploying cantilevered piezoelectric laminated composite plate, under the combined action of aerodynamic load and piezoelectric excitation, is introduced. The nonlinear vibration of the deploying cantilevered laminate can be effectively suppressed by choosing a suitable voltage and polarity.
文摘The aim of this paper is to conduct experimental modal analysis and numerical simulation to verify the structural characteristics of a deployable-retractable wing for aircraft and spacecraft. Manufactured deployable-retractable wings are studied in stage of experimental modal analysis, in which some nonlinear vibration resulted should be particularly noted because such wing structure displays a low resonant frequency which is always optimal to be avoided for structural safety and stability.

文摘The concept of local resonance phononic crystals proposed in recent years provides a new chance for theoretical and technical breakthroughs in the structural vibration reduction. In this paper,a novel sandwich-like plate model with local resonator to acquire specific low-frequency bandgaps is proposed. The core layer of the present local resonator is composed by the simply supported overhanging beam, linear spring and mass block, and well connected with the upper and lower surface panels. The simply supported overhanging beam is free at right end,and an additional linear spring is added at the left end.The wave equation is established based on the Hamilton principle, and the bending wave bandgap is further obtained. The theoretical results are verified by the COMSOL finite element software. The bandgaps and vibration characteristics of the local resonance sandwich-like plate are studied in detail. The factors which could have effects on the bandgap characteristics, such as the structural damping, mass of vibrator, position of vibrator, bending stiffness of the beam, and the boundary conditions of the sandwich-like plates, are analyzed. The result shows that the stopband is determined by the natural frequency of the resonator, the mass ratio of the resonator, and the surface panel. It shows that the width of bandgap is greatly affected by the damping ratio of the resonator. Finally,it can also be found that the boundary conditions can affect the isolation efficiency.

文摘An adaptive dynamic vibration absorber(ADVA)is designed for lowfrequency vibration suppression. The leaf springs are applied as the tuning stiffness elements. The principle of variable stiffness is analyzed to obtain the effective range of the first natural frequency variation.A classic simply supported manipulator is selected as the controlled system. The coupled dynamic model of the manipulator-ADVA system is built to obtain the maximum damping efficiency and the vibration absorption capacity of the designed ADVA.An experimental platform is set up to verify the theoretical results. It is revealed that the ADVA can adjust the first natural frequency on a large scale by changing the curvature of the leaf springs. The amplitude of the manipulator is reduced obviously with the installation of the designed ADVA.Finally, based on the short-time Fourier transformation(STFT),a stepwise optimization algorithm is proposed to achieve a quick tuning of the natural frequency of the ADVA so that it can always coincide with the frequency of the prime structure.Through the above steps, the intelligent frequency tuning of the ADVA is realized with high vibration absorption performance in a wide frequency range.
