Optimal Design of Grid-Connected Microgrid System for Cold Chain Logistics Centre in China

The growing interest in energy conservation has inspired companies to seek alternatives to highly polluting fuel electricity generation. This study designed an optimised solar wind power generation system to fulfil the energy requirement of a cold chain logistics centre. This study first conducted a thorough analysis of the clarity indicators and daily temperature positions of the cold chain logistics centre, determined the average daily electricity demand, and proposed an effective design scheme. The energy simulation software, RETScreen 8.0, was used to determine the scale of solar photovoltaic and wind power projects that meet the expected energy needs of the cold chain logistics centre. The results indicated that the estimated annual total energy demand was 833689.2 kWh. The annual power generation of 6 kW from solar photovoltaic projects and 150 kW from wind power projects was found to be enough to meet the expected electricity demand. Solar photovoltaic power generation and wind power generation account for 2.44% and 97.56%, respectively. The hybrid energy system achieved a 96.6% reduction in carbon emissions and provides a reasonable payback period of 6.1 years and an electricity generation of 904368.674 kWh per year. The feasibility of the project and the calculated period of investment return are very reasonable. Therefore, this hybrid renewable energy system provides reliable power by combining energy sources.

Optimal Portfolio Selection with Delay under the Framework of Uncertainty Theory

This study focuses on investigating the optimal investment strategy for an optimization problem with delay using the uncertainty theory. The financial market is composed of a risk-free asset and a risk asset with an uncertain price process described by an uncertain differential equation. An optimization problem is assumed that its objective is a nonlinear function of decision variable. By deriving the equation of optimality, an analytical solution is obtained for the optimal delay investment strategy, and the optimal delay value function. Finally, an economic analysis and numerical sensitivity analysis are conducted to evaluate the research results.

An Insight Survey on Sensor Errors and Fault Detection Techniques in Smart Spaces

The widespread adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed various sectors globally, making themmore intelligent and connected. However, this advancement comes with challenges related to the effectiveness ofIoT devices. These devices, present in offices, homes, industries, and more, need constant monitoring to ensuretheir proper functionality. The success of smart systems relies on their seamless operation and ability to handlefaults. Sensors, crucial components of these systems, gather data and contribute to their functionality. Therefore,sensor faults can compromise the system’s reliability and undermine the trustworthiness of smart environments.To address these concerns, various techniques and algorithms can be employed to enhance the performance ofIoT devices through effective fault detection. This paper conducted a thorough review of the existing literature andconducted a detailed analysis.This analysis effectively links sensor errors with a prominent fault detection techniquecapable of addressing them. This study is innovative because it paves theway for future researchers to explore errorsthat have not yet been tackled by existing fault detection methods. Significant, the paper, also highlights essentialfactors for selecting and adopting fault detection techniques, as well as the characteristics of datasets and theircorresponding recommended techniques. Additionally, the paper presents amethodical overview of fault detectiontechniques employed in smart devices, including themetrics used for evaluation. Furthermore, the paper examinesthe body of academic work related to sensor faults and fault detection techniques within the domain. This reflectsthe growing inclination and scholarly attention of researchers and academicians toward strategies for fault detectionwithin the realm of the Internet of Things.

Weak optimal inverse problems of interval linear programming based on KKT conditions

In this paper,weak optimal inverse problems of interval linear programming(IvLP)are studied based on KKT conditions.Firstly,the problem is precisely defined.Specifically,by adjusting the minimum change of the current cost coefficient,a given weak solution can become optimal.Then,an equivalent characterization of weak optimal inverse IvLP problems is obtained.Finally,the problem is simplified without adjusting the cost coefficient of null variable.

Analysis on Consumption Behavior of Zhejiang Province's Farmers from the Perspective of Their Income Increase

With rapid development of industrialization in Zhejiang Province, surplus rural labor forces move to the secondary and tertiary industries. Farmers of Zhejiang Province are no exception. They turn to industrial workers and their income source has great changes. Wage income becomes their major source of income. Accordingly, farmers' consumption behavior has great changes. Apart from satisfying basic production and living demands, farmers start to pursue living quality and their life style tends to urbanization. Nevertheless, under the influence of rural physical environment, policies and systems, the existing consumption environment fails to follow farmers' urban lifestyle any more. In line with how to optimize rural consumption environment, improve farmers' consuming capacity, continue to expand farmers' consumption and promote urbanization development of rural areas, this paper presents pertinent countermeasures and recommendations.

Real-Time Multimodal Biometric Authentication of Human Using Face Feature Analysis

As multimedia data sharing increases,data security in mobile devices and its mechanism can be seen as critical.Biometrics combines the physiological and behavioral qualities of an individual to validate their character in real-time.Humans incorporate physiological attributes like a fingerprint,face,iris,palm print,finger knuckle print,Deoxyribonucleic Acid(DNA),and behavioral qualities like walk,voice,mark,or keystroke.The main goal of this paper is to design a robust framework for automatic face recognition.Scale Invariant Feature Transform(SIFT)and Speeded-up Robust Features(SURF)are employed for face recognition.Also,we propose a modified Gabor Wavelet Transform for SIFT/SURF(GWT-SIFT/GWT-SURF)to increase the recognition accuracy of human faces.The proposed scheme is composed of three steps.First,the entropy of the image is removed using Discrete Wavelet Transform(DWT).Second,the computational complexity of the SIFT/SURF is reduced.Third,the accuracy is increased for authentication by the proposed GWT-SIFT/GWT-SURF algorithm.A comparative analysis of the proposed scheme is done on real-time Olivetti Research Laboratory(ORL)and Poznan University of Technology(PUT)databases.When compared to the traditional SIFT/SURF methods,we verify that the GWT-SIFT achieves the better accuracy of 99.32%and the better approach is the GWT-SURF as the run time of the GWT-SURF for 100 images is 3.4 seconds when compared to the GWT-SIFT which has a run time of 4.9 seconds for 100 images.

Impact of petroleum and non-petroleum indices on financial development in Oman

This study analyzes the impact of petroleum and non-petroleum indices on the financial development of the Sultanate of Oman from 1978 to 2017.To this end,it uses the petroleum proxy of oil rents(%of gross domestic product,GDP)and the non-petroleum proxy of industry(including construction)value added(%of GDP);agriculture,forestry,and fishing value added(%of GDP);and services value added(%of GDP)to determine the effect on financial development,measured by the amount of domestic credit extended to the private sector by banks(%of GDP).It applies an autoregressive distributed lag(ARDL)model.The long-term equation illustrates that the agriculture and industry GDPs have a negative and significant relationship with domestic credit in Oman.However,the oil and service sector GDPs promote financial development.The short-term equation illustrates that the oil,agricultural,and service sectors have positive and significant effects on domestic credit.The conclusion is that the economy of Oman is still in the first phase of economic diversification.Accordingly,the government should use oil revenues to develop various non-oil industrial sectors.This would enhance the country’s competitiveness in the global economy and positively contribute to improving the liquidity of the banking sector for stimulating credit at the macroeconomic level.

Predicament and Countermeasures for the Management and Maintenance of Rural Water Conservancy Facilities

The major problem of rural water conservancy facilities during its management and maintenance is in the "been used, under no control" state. And the main reasons of this state are the public belonging property, investment by a single subject, and lack of effective supervision and management mechanism. Since rural water conservancy facilities is used in small scale and has the features of rural "acquaintances community", a balanced long-term interest mechanism for the management and maintenance of rural water conservancy facilities is established for interest-related parties. On short-term view, the most effective measure is to bring the operational status of rural water conservancy facilities into the evaluation indicators of the local government.

Acute toxicity of Cypermethrin, a synthetic pyrethroid to estuarine clam Katelysia opima (Gmelin) and its effect on oxygen consumption

The impact of acute exposure of Cypermethrin on the rate of oxygen consumption of the estuarine clam, Katelysia opima was studied. After 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72 84 and 96 h of exposure to acute concentration, the average oxygen consumption in LC0 group was 0.215, 0.305, 0364, 0.355, 0.362, 0.376, 0.313, 0.305, 0.297 (ml/L/hr/gm) and in LC50 group it was 0.210, 0.299, 0.356, 0.247, 0.217, 0.244, 0.203, 0.186, 0.174 (ml/L/hr/gm). It was observed that the rate of oxygen consumption fluctuated with an increase in the exposure period. The decrease was maximum in LC50 group as compared to LC0 group.

Enhanced Pervaporative Separation of Thiophene/n-Heptane Using Metal Loaded PEBAX/PAN Membranes

The mass transfer of thiophene through pervaporation(PV)membranes could be facilitated by certain transitional metal ions like Ag^+,Mn^2+,and Cr^3+thanks to their p complexation with thiophene.In this study,Ag^+,Mn^2+,and Cr^3+ions were loaded onto the polyether block amide(PEBAX)/PAN composite membranes and were tested on the performance for separation of thiophene/n-heptane mixture.Pervaporation test results showed that the pervaporative separation index increased significantly to 73.1%,75.5%,and 97.2%at 30℃for the Ag^+-,Mn2^+-,Cr3^+-loaded PEBAX membranes,respectively,as compared to the pristine PEBAX/PAN composite membrane.

Comprehensive Evaluation and Analysis of China's Rural Reform and Open Achievements in Thirty Years

In this paper, the practice of the past 30 years of reform and open policy was analyzed. A comprehensive evaluation model based on Analytic Hierarchy Process （AHP） was established and some empirical analyses （data from 1978-2006） on the rural construction were made based on this model. It is concluded that the rural construction has achieved the great success since carring on the reform and open policy. The rural construction during this period could be divided into two stages. At the first stage, achievements were mainly due to the construction of agricultural development and rural harmony-driven. And at the second stage, achievements were mainly due to the improvement of the quality at present. Consequently, the efforts to improve the rural construction must be intensified for a long time. Moreover, it is necessary to grasp the key points to make up the lack of rural construction.

Strengthening Mechanisms to Promote Tourists' Environmental Responsible Behaviors in the Context of All-for-One Tourism

The overall promotion of all-for-one tourism requires tourists' civilized behaviors. This paper focused on tourists' environmental responsible behaviors in the context of all-for-one tourism. On the basis of clarifying the connotation, dimension and driving factors of tourists' environmental responsible behaviors, this paper firstly analyzed the relationship between all-for-one tourism and tourists' environmental responsible behaviors, and proposed that the development of all-for-one tourism was an important path to optimize and upgrade China's tourism industry and a new concept of sustainable development of tourism industry. The emergence of all-for-one tourism has formed a new tourism trend, which will drive tourists to behave more civilly. Tourists' environmental responsible behaviors are a "subject and share" concept, and from tourists' point of view, all-for-one tourism development is the most basic requirement. Secondly, based on the theory of "value-belief-norm", this paper focused on the strengthening mechanism of "interaction effect" between all-for-one tourism and tourists' environmental responsible behaviors, and put forward the idea of "double internalization strengthening" to guide tourists' environmental responsible behaviors from being passive to active, from individuals to groups. Finally, this paper discussed the promotion of environmental responsible behaviors of tourist's specific strategies from two aspects, "external drive" and "internal drive" to enhance the level of all-for-one tourism construction and strengthen the environment responsibility of tourists. "External drives" were as follows:(1) to make a scientific development plan to implement the "host and guest sharing" mechanism;(2) to optimize the landscape, the environment, services, enhance the local attachment of visitors;(3) to improve the infrastructure system, pay attention to the details of visitors' experience;(4) to strengthen environment education and publicity, deepening the quality of tourists' civilization construction, and strengthen the environmental responsible behaviors of tourists. "Internal drives" were as follows:(1) to strengthen the sense of environmental responsibility of tourists;(2) to establish a model of environmental responsible behaviors;(3) to strengthen the supervision of environmental responsible behaviors.

Analysis of Evaluation Data Collected on Likert Type Items: Humanities-Courses

To improve high quality and/or retain achieved high quality of an academic program, time to time evaluation for quality of each covered course is often an integrated aspect considered in reputed institutions, however, there has been little effort regarding humanities courses. This research article deals with analysis of evaluation data collected regarding humanities course from a College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, on Likert type items. Appropriateness of one parametric measure and three non-parametric measures are discussed and used in this regard which could provide useful clues for educational policy planners. Keeping in view of the analytical results using these four measures, regardless of the threshold regarding satisfaction among students, overall performance of almost every subject has been un-satisfactory. There is a need to make a focused approach to take every course at the level of high performance. The inconsistency noticed under every threshold further revealed that under such poorly performing subjects globally, one needs to analyze merely at the global level item. Once the global level analysis reveals high performance of a course, then only item specific analysis may need to be focused to find out the items requiring further improvements.

Scale for Evaluation of Humanities Courses: Development, Reliability and Validity

The present paper deals with development of a course evaluation survey (CES) questionnaire regarding evaluation of humanities courses (e.g., Commerce/Economics/Law) and assessment of its validity and reliability. Taking help from available questionnaires and also incorporating views from the teachers of the related subjects, the relevant Likert type items were selected. The drafted version of the questionnaire was finalized taking into account feedback from the subject experts. The focus was on simple language to ensure clarity to the students to facilitate accuracy of the collected data. The developed questionnaire consists of five domains involving fifteen Likert type items including a global item. For assessment of its reliability and validity, data were collected among two groups of undergraduate students studying two courses namely Accounts (n = 190) and Law (n = 90). For assessing questionnaire, Karl Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient and four factor solutions under factor analysis were used. The analytical results were quite consistent across the data sets (that are, accounts, law and pooled together) that exhibit good psychometric properties. It may thus be concluded that the questionnaire is valid, reliable and may measure what it is intended to measure.
