In an integrated energy system(IES) composed of multiple subsystems, energy coupling causes an energy supply blockage or shutdown in one subsystem, thereby affecting the energy flow distribution optimization of other subsystems.The energy supply should be globally optimized during the IES energy supply restoration process to produce the highest restoration net income. Mobile emergency sources can be quickly and flexibly connected to supply energy after an energy outage to ensure a reliable supply to the system, which adds complexity to the decision. This study focuses on a powergas IES with mobile emergency sources and analyzes the coupling relationship between the gas distribution system and the power distribution system in terms of sources, networks, and loads, and the influence of mobile emergency source transportation. The influence of the transient process caused by the restoration operation of the gas distribution system on the power distribution system is also discussed. An optimization model for power-gas IES restoration was established with the objective of maximizing the net income. The coordinated restoration optimization decision-making process was also built to realize the decoupling iteration of the power-gas IES, including system status recognition, mobile emergency source dispatching optimization, gas-to-power gas flow optimization, and parallel intra-partition restoration scheme optimization for both the power and gas distribution systems. A simulation test power-gas IES consisting of an 81-node medium-voltage power distribution network, an 89-node medium-pressure gas distribution network, and four mobile emergency sources was constructed. The simulation analysis verified the efficiency of the proposed coordinated restoration optimization method. 展开更多

Calcareous sand is typically known as a problematic marine sediment because of its diverse morphology and complex inner pore structure.However,the coupling effects of morphology and inner pores on the mechanical properties of calcareous sand particles have rarely been investigated and understood.In this study,apparent contours and internal pore distributions of calcareous sand particles were obtained by three-dimensional(3D)scanning imaging and X-ray micro-computed tomography(X-mCT),respectively.It was revealed that calcareous sand particles with different outer morphologies have different porosities and inner pore distributions because of their original sources and particle transport processes.In addition,a total of 120 photo-related compression tests and 4923D discrete element simulations of four specific shaped particles,i.e.bulky,angular,dendritic and flaky,with variations in the inner pore distribution were conducted.The macroscopic particle strength and Weibull modulus obtained from the physical tests are not positively correlated with the porosity or regularity in shape,indicating the existence of coupling effect of particle shape and pore distribution.The shape effect on the particle strength first increases with the porosity and then decreases.The particle crushing of relatively regular particles is governed by the porosity,but that of extremely irregular particles is governed by the particle shape.The particle strength increases with the uniformity of the pore distribution.Particle fragmentation is mainly dependant on tensile bond strength,and the degree of tensile failure is considerably impacted by the particle shape but limited by the pore distribution. 展开更多

The fluctuation of wind power affects the operating safety and power consumption of the electric power grid and restricts the grid connection of wind power on a large scale.Therefore,wind power forecasting plays a key role in improving the safety and economic benefits of the power grid.This paper proposes a wind power predicting method based on a convolutional graph attention deep neural network with multi-wind farm data.Based on the graph attention network and attention mechanism,the method extracts spatial-temporal characteristics from the data of multiple wind farms.Then,combined with a deep neural network,a convolutional graph attention deep neural network model is constructed.Finally,the model is trained with the quantile regression loss function to achieve the wind power deterministic and probabilistic prediction based on multi-wind farm spatial-temporal data.A wind power dataset in the U.S.is taken as an example to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed model.Compared with the selected baseline methods,the proposed model achieves the best prediction performance.The point prediction errors(i.e.,root mean square error(RMSE)and normalized mean absolute percentage error(NMAPE))are 0.304 MW and 1.177%,respectively.And the comprehensive performance of probabilistic prediction(i.e.,con-tinuously ranked probability score(CRPS))is 0.580.Thus,the significance of multi-wind farm data and spatial-temporal feature extraction module is self-evident. 展开更多

As the energy supply problem worsens, the development and utilization of marine renewable energy have become a research hotspot. The development of wave energy is moving from the near shore to the distant sea. The power-generation efficiency of a single two-floating-body wave-energy converter is relatively low. To fully utilize wave energy and improve the wave-energy capture rate of a fixed sea area, arranging a two-floating-body wave-energy converter array is necessary. This paper first introduces the basic theory of multi-floating flow field, time-domain calculation method, and influence factor of the waveenergy converter array. Then, the development of AQWA software in Fortran language considers the effect of power takeoff. A calculation method based on ANSYS–AQWA is proposed to simulate the motion of the oscillating-buoy two-floating-body wave-energy converter. The results are compared with the experimental results from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Finally, the ANSYS–AQWA method is used to study the power characteristics of simple and complex arrays of wave-energy converters. The average power generation of simple arrays is largest at 0°, and the average power generation of complex arrays does not change with the wave direction. Optimal layout spacing exists for the simple and complex arrays. These findings can serve as a valuable reference for the large-scale array layout of wave-energy converters in the future. 展开更多

These techniques belong to the field of networked control systems. Network embedding to Wind Energy Conversion Systems brings many new challenges. Implementing a control system over a communication network causes inevitable time delays that may degrade performance and can even cause instability. This work addresses challenges related to the reliable control of wind energy conversion systems, based on the theoretical framework of networked control systems. A type of WECS with network-induced delay and packet dropout is modeled and adjustable deadbands are explored as a solution to reduce network traffic in WECSs. A method to study the reliable control of WECSs is presented, which takes into account system response as well as the network environment. After detailed theoretical analysis, simulation results are provided, which further demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed scheme. 展开更多

Discharge plasma in and in contact with water can be accompanied with ultraviolet radiation and electron impact, thus can generate hydroxyl radicals, ozone, nitrite nitrogen and hydrogen peroxide. In this paper, a non-equilibrium plasma processing system was established by means of an atmospheric pressure plasma jet immersed in water. The hydroxyl intensities and discharge energy waveforms were tested. The results show that the positive and negative discharge energy peaks were asymmetric, where the positive discharge energy peak was greater than the negative one. Meanwhile, the yield of ozone and nitrite nitrogen was enhanced with the increase of both the treatment time and the discharge energy. Moreover, the pH value of treated water was reduced rapidly and maintained at a lower level. The residual concentration of hydrogen peroxide in APPJ treated water was kept at a low level. Additionally, both the efficiency energy ratio of the yield of ozone and nitrite nitrogen and that of the removal of p-nitrophenol increased as a function of discharge energy and discharge voltage. The experimental results were fully analyzed and the chemical reaction equations and the physical processes of discharges in water were given. 展开更多

The organic compounds of p-nitrophenol (PNP) solution was treated by the active species generated in a stirred reactor by an atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ). The emission intensities of hydroxyl (OH), oxygen (O), nitric oxide (NO), hydrogen (H) and molecular (N2) were measured by optical emission spectroscopy (OES). The relations between the flow rates of the PNP solution and degradation, the degradation effects and initial pH value of the solution were also investigated. Experimental results show that there exist intense emissions of O (777.1 nm), N(337.1 nm), OH (306-310 nm) and NO band (200-290 nm) in the region of plasma. Given the treatment time and gas flow rate, the degradation increased as a function of discharge energy and solution flow rate, respectively. The solution flow rate for the most efficient degradation ranged from 1.414 m/s to 1.702 m/s, and contributed very little when it exceeded 2.199 m/s. This indicates the existence of diffusion-controlled reactions at a low solution flow rate and activation- controlled reactions at a high solution flow rate. Moreover, increasing or decreasing the initial pH value of neutral PNP solution (pH=5.95) could improve the degradation efficiency. Treated by APPJ, the PNP solutions with different initial pH values of 5.95, 7.47 and 2.78 turned more acidic in the end, while the neutral solution had the lowest degradation efficiency. This work clearly demonstrates the close coupling of active species, photolysis of ultraviolet, the organic solution flow rate and the initial pH value, and thus is helpful in the study of the mechanism and application of plasma in wastewater treatment. 展开更多

In order to solve the problems of rotor overvoltage,overcurrent and DC side voltage rise caused by grid voltage drops,a coordinated control strategy based on symmetrical and asymmetrical low voltage ride through of rotor side converter of the doubly-fed generator is proposed.When the power grid voltage drops symmetrically,the generator approximate equation under steady-state conditions is no longer applicable.Considering the dynamic process of stator current excitation,according to the change of stator flux and the depth of voltage drop,the system can dynamically provide reactive power support for parallel nodes and suppress the rise of DC side voltage and rotor over-current.When the grid voltage drops asymmetrically,the positive and negative sequence components are separated in the rotating coordinate system.The doubly fed generator model is established to suppress the rotor positive sequence current and negative sequence current respectively.At the same time,the output voltage limit of the converter is discussed,and the reference value is adjusted within the allowable output voltage range.In order to adapt to the occurrence of different types of power grid faults and complex operating conditions,a fast switching module of fault type detection and rotor control mode is designed to detect the type of power grid faults and voltage drop depth in real time and switch the rotor side control mode dynamically.Finally,the simulation model of the doubly fed wind turbine is constructed in Matlab/Simulink.The simulation results verify that the proposed control strategy can improve the low-voltage ride through performance of the system when dealing with the symmetrical and asymmetric voltage drop of the power grid and identify the power grid fault type and provide the correct control strategy. 展开更多

The lack of reactive power in offshore wind farms will affect the voltage stability and power transmission quality of wind farms.To improve the voltage stability and reactive power economy of wind farms,the improved particle swarmoptimization is used to optimize the reactive power planning in wind farms.First,the power flow of offshore wind farms is modeled,analyzed and calculated.To improve the global search ability and local optimization ability of particle swarm optimization,the improved particle swarm optimization adopts the adaptive inertia weight and asynchronous learning factor.Taking the minimum active power loss of the offshore wind farms as the objective function,the installation location of the reactive power compensation device is compared according to the node voltage amplitude and the actual engineering needs.Finally,a reactive power optimizationmodel based on Static Var Compensator is established inMATLAB to consider the optimal compensation capacity,network loss,convergence speed and voltage amplitude enhancement effect of SVC.Comparing the compensation methods in several different locations,the compensation scheme with the best reactive power optimization effect is determined.Meanwhile,the optimization results of the standard particle swarm optimization and the improved particle swarm optimization are compared to verify the superiority of the proposed improved algorithm. 展开更多

This paper proposes a distributed robust optimal dispatch model to enhance information security and interaction among the operators in the regional integrated energy system(RIES).Our model regards the distribution network and each energy hub(EH)as independent operators and employs robust optimization to improve operational security caused by wind and photovoltaic(PV)power output uncertainties,with only deterministic information exchanged across boundaries.This paper also adopts the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM)algorithm to facilitate secure information interaction among multiple RIES operators,maximizing the benefit for each subject.Furthermore,the traditional ADMM algorithm with fixed step size is modified to be adaptive,addressing issues of redundant interactions caused by suboptimal initial step size settings.A case study validates the effectiveness of the proposed model,demonstrating the superiority of the ADMM algorithm with adaptive step size and the economic benefits of the distributed robust optimal dispatch model over the distributed stochastic optimal dispatch model. 展开更多

A two-stage catalytic membrane reactor(CMR)that couples CO_(2) splitting with methane oxidation reactions was constructed based on an oxygen-permeable perovskite asymmetric membrane.The asymmetric membrane comprises a dense SrFe_(0.9)Ta_(0.1)O_(3-σ)(SFT)separation layer and a porous Sr_(0.9)(Fe_(0.9)Ta_(0.1))_(0.9)Cu_(0.1)O_(3-σ)(SFTC)catalytic layer.In thefirst stage reactor,a CO_(2) splitting reaction(CDS:2CO_(2)→2CO+O_(2))occurs at the SFTC catalytic layer.Subsequently,the O_(2) product is selectively extracted through the SFT separation layer to the permeated side for the methane combustion reaction(MCR),which provides an extremely low oxygen partial pressure to enhance the oxygen extraction.In the second stage,a Sr_(0.9)(Fe_(0.9)Ta_(0.1))_(0.9)Ni_(0.1)O_(3-σ)(SFTN)catalyst is employed to reform the products derived from MCR.The two-stage CMR design results in a remarkable 35.4%CO_(2) conversion for CDS at 900℃.The two-stage CMR was extended to a hollowfiber configuration combining with solar irradiation.The solar-assisted two-stage CMR can operate stably for over 50 h with a high hydrogen yield of 18.1 mL min^(-1) cm^(-2).These results provide a novel strategy for reducing CO_(2) emissions,suggesting potential avenues for the design of the high-performance CMRs and catalysts based on perovskite oxides in the future. 展开更多

The sufficient robust frequency stabilization result for multi-area power system with time delay is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). Pressure fluctuations, which are inevitable in the operation of pumps, have a strong non-stationary characteristic and contain a great deal of important information representing the operation conditions. With an axial-flow pump as an example, a new method for time-frequency analysis based on the ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) method is proposed for research on the characteristics of pressure fluctuations. First, the pressure fluctuation signals are preprocessed with the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method, and intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) are extracted. Second, the EEMD method is used to extract more precise decomposition results, and the number of iterations is determined according to the number of IMFs produced by the EMD method. Third, correlation coefficients between IMFs produced by the EMD and EEMD methods and the original signal are calculated, and the most sensitive IMFs are chosen to analyze the frequency spectrum. Finally, the operation conditions of the pump are identified with the frequency features. Using the PimpleDyMFoam solver in open-source computing software OpenFOAM,based on the SST k-ωturbulence model and PIMPLE algorithm,a numerical simulation method of vertical-axis marine current turbines(VMCTs)is proposed,and the calculated results are compared with the experimental results.The results show that the numerical simulation method is feasible.Compared with other commercial softwares,this method has the advantages of higher solution efficiency and greater flexibility.According to the needs of users,the solver can be built on the basis of original code,and the corresponding discrete method can be optimized.This method can achieve optimization algorithms,save time and cost,etc.Secondly,the effects of different parameters(mesh density,time step,the selection of sidewall boundary conditions and inlet turbulence intensity)on numerical simulation of the VMCT are studied in detail.The findings summarize an effective CFD simulation strategy based on OpenFOAM and provide a valuable reference for future CFD simulations of VMCTs. 展开更多

This paper introduces a novel method for fast calculating the electromagnetic forces in interior permanent magnet synchronous machines(IPMSMs)under pulse width modulation(PWM)voltage source inverter(VSI)supply based on the small-signal time-harmonic finite element analysis(THFEA),which has been successfully utilized for fast calculating the PWMinduced losses in silicon steel sheets and permanent magnets.Based on the small-signal THFEA,the functional relationships between high-frequency harmonic voltages(HFHVs)and corresponding airgap flux densities are established,which are used for calculating the flux density spectra caused by each HFHV in the PWM voltage spectra.Then,the superposition principle is applied for calculating the flux density spectra caused by fundamental currents and all HFHVs,which are converted to the electromagnetic force spectra at last.The relative errors between the force density spectra calculated with the proposed method and those obtained from traditional time-stepping finite element analysis(TSFEA)using PWM voltages as input are within 3.1%,while the proposed method is 24 times faster than the traditional TSFEA. 展开更多

This paper studies the fixed-time output-feedback control for a class of linear systems subject to matched uncertainties.To estimate the uncertainties and system states,we design a composite observer which consists of a high-order sliding mode observer and a Luenberger observer.Then,a robust output-feedback controller with fixed-time convergence guarantee is constructed.Rigorous theoretical proof shows that with the proposed controller,the system states can converge to zero in fixed-time free of the initial conditions.Finally,simulation comparison with existing algorithms is given.Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller in terms of its fixed-time convergence and perfect disturbance rejection. 展开更多

Electric discharge in and in contact with water can accompany ultraviolet(UV)radiation and electron impact, which can generate a large number of active species such as hydroxyl radicals(OH), oxygen radical(O), ozone(O_3) and hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2). In this paper, a nonthermal plasma processing system was established by means of dielectric barrier discharge(DBD)arrays in water mist spray. The relationship between droplet size and water content was examined,and the effects of the concentrations of oxides in both treated water and gas were investigated under different water content and discharge time. The relative intensity of UV spectra from DBD in water mist was a function of water content. The concentrations of both O_3 and nitrogen dioxide(NO_2) in DBD room decreased with increasing water content. Moreover, the concentrations of H_2O_2, O_3 and nitrogen oxides(NOx) in treated water decreased with increasing water content,and all the ones enhanced after discharge. The experimental results were further analyzed by chemical reaction equations and commented by physical principles as much as possible. At last,the water containing phenol was tested in this system for the concentration from 100 mg/L to9.8 mg/L in a period of 35 min. 展开更多

The submerged propeller is an efficient diving mix device,which is applicable for oxidation ditch treatment in industry,city and village wastewater-treatment plant. The impeller structure and reasonable rotating speed are important factors that determine flow field distribution and energy conversion efficiency. So it is necessary to use modern design methods to develop new kinds of high efficiency submerged propellers,and research the flow field characteristics of submerged propellers. On the basis of the existing form drawing,three-dimensional model of submerged propellers and unstructured tetrahedral mesh were generated. Based on Navier- Stokes equations and standard k- ε turbulence model,the flow was simulated by using a simple algorithm. Through changing some design parameters of propellers,the corresponding numerical simulation results reveal that for the same impeller diameter and service area of submerged propellers,the power consumption could be reduced effectively by optimizing blade mounting angle,which can determine the best blade mounting angle and most suitable rotational speed under given conditions. The study can provide theoretical and project guidance for submerged propellers design. 展开更多
