Influence of the Chemical Composition of Completion Fluids on the Propagation of Electromagnetic Waves within Oil Wells

The propagation of electromagnetic waves in the annular region of oil wells was studied. The present study aims to analyse the propagation attenuation along the well, as well as the input impedance determined by a source placed near the wellhead. A coaxial waveguide model was adopted with heterogeneous dielectrics and losses. First, a wave equation solution for the waveguide is presented, assuming a homogeneous medium with losses, by solving the equation in cylindrical coordinates using the vector potential technique. An uncertainty analysis model is then developed to model the heterogeneous characteristics of the medium. Monte Carlo simulations were performed with the created model using data gathered from the literature. The results of the simulations indicate that propagation in the transverse electromagnetic mode has the smallest attenuation and that for depths of up to 4000 m, there is an attenuation of less than 52 dB. Furthermore, the input impedance ranges from 10 Ω to 10 kΩ because of the uncertainties involved in the problem in question. 展开更多

在近年来提出的彩色图像转灰度图的可逆映射概念中指出,彩色图像被映射成条纹后,接收者可用这些条纹通过小波变换、降低采样彩度宽度和重置高频区域的方法来实现彩色图像再现。主要思路是使用黑白打印机打印出带有彩色的图像,然后扫描... 在近年来提出的彩色图像转灰度图的可逆映射概念中指出,彩色图像被映射成条纹后,接收者可用这些条纹通过小波变换、降低采样彩度宽度和重置高频区域的方法来实现彩色图像再现。主要思路是使用黑白打印机打印出带有彩色的图像,然后扫描文件并再现彩色。本文提出了一个更为有效地抗打印、扫描噪声的方法,即使用冗余再现彩度,将其嵌入总子带区域转换中的多重子带中,即将彩度分散到不同的子带中。从理论角度证实了为了减小由白色噪声引起的误差方差,彩度应该置于许多子带中,而不是形成线性组合。此外,本文还介绍了寻找最佳线性转换的方法,该方法可以在更普遍的彩色噪声下将彩度嵌入子带中。通过对噪声进行分析确定上限,以指导彩度嵌入子带时所需子带的数量。实验结果均在真实打印和扫描条件下进行,并使用了模拟的打印、扫描路径。 展开更多

The solar protection systems avoid direct sunlight shafts incidence contributing to the luminous, thermal and energetic performance of edifications. In some regions, like the south of Brazil, where the variation of temperature is wide, the control of solar radiation incidence is even more required. Besides, the use of the vertical and mobile brise-soleil in facades which radiations affect with larger angles, as east and west facades, is more appropriate. The possibility to make this automatic movement would make its utilization and manipulations easier, adjusting the opening angulation according to the user desire and the environmental criterion of the period as well. In this way, the main goal of this work is the development of a parametrical and automatized brise-soleil prototype, aiming its application in architecture and construction. The relation between elements of solar protection and automation can contribute to a greater environmental efficiency and user convenience. 展开更多

Impact of the Objective Function on the Construction of Internal Grids of Wind Farms Using Genetic Algorithm

The construction of wind farms has been a ... The macro complex of the construction industry is energy intensive. Solutions that enable the supply of this demand while meeting the principles of sustainability are needed. The construction of wind farms has been a strategy employed by many countries to produce clean energy. An increase in the construction of wind farms has also been witnessed in Brazil. This calls for different activities, such as the design and construction of infrastructure. This article focuses on the design of internal medium voltage distribution grids for wind farms. The purpose is to find a radial configuration that connects a set of wind generators to the substation, in an optimum way, minimizing operational and construction costs, reducing loss and therefore contributing to sustainability. In large farms, the project design consists of a large combinatorial optimization problem, given the large number of possible configurations to be deployed. Finding the best solution for the internal grid depends on the criterion adopted for the objectives pursued. This article analyzes the different criteria that can be adopted in the design of the wind farm’s internal grid using a methodology based on genetic algorithm (GA). Its aim is to identify their influence on the solution of the problem and help decision-making by finding the most adequate criterion for the objectives pursued. The results show that the design of the internal grid is sensitive to the criteria adopted for the objective function. In addition, the degree of sensitivity is analyzed, showing that, in some cases, the solutions are not economically attractive and do not contribute to the reduction of losses. 展开更多
