Their per-unit cost does not decrease but increase with the growth of such projects product size. Thus this is diseconomies of scale that occur in them. The significance of this phenomenon results from the fact that it is commonly considered to be one of the fundamental objective causes of their low effectiveness. This is of particular significance with regard to Business Software Systems (BSS) D&EP characterized by exceptionally low effectiveness comparing to other software D&EP. Thus the paper aims at answering the following two questions: (1) Do economies of scale really not occur in BSS D&EP? (2) If economies of scale may occur in BSS D&EP, what factors are then promoting them? These issues classify into economics problems of software engineering research and practice.展开更多

Thus for many years now objective and reliable approaches to the cost estimation of such systems have been sought out so that they could provide the possibility to make rational investment decisions concerning those systems. The purpose of this paper is to bring in the approach to cost estimation of dedicated software systems that has been recently growing in global popularity, using it as a background for presenting conclusions resulting from practical verification of author’s own model of dedicated software system cost estimation based on that approach.展开更多

The basis of this revolution also well known as Industry 4.0 builds so called cyber-physical systems. They contain the integrated smart software systems including the internet address to enable the communication with envi- ronment as for product itself as for means of production and employees. All these enable the next level of efficiency and flexibility for both organizing and controlling of the value-creation chain over the whole lifecycle of products. In the first three chapters several Internet references and documents published by German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy were used. Because of multiple cross references in documents, this report is written without detailed references in each paragraph of mentioned chapters. The last three chapters of the research presented undertake the short review of interdependencies between the Industry 4.0 and the well-known approach of computer-supported-cooperative-work established in the late 1980s. Long list of publications can be found in Wikipedia, and in many proceedings of ACM conferences on computer supported cooperative work (CSCW).展开更多

The multimodal processes behind the multi-product production flow executed in an MTN can be seen as processes realized by using various local periodically functioning processes. The considered network of repetitively acting local transportation modes encompassing MTN's structure provides a framework for multimodal processes scheduling treated in terms of optimization of the AGVs fleet scheduling problem subject to fuzzy operation time constraints. In the considered case, both production takt and operation execution time are described by imprecise data. The aim of the paper is to present a constraint propagation(CP) driven approach to multi-robot task allocation providing a prompt service to a set of routine queries stated in both direct and reverse way. Illustrative examples taking into account an uncertain specification of robots and workers operation time are provided.展开更多
