Ceramic relief mural is a contemporary landscape art that is carefully designed based on human nature,culture,and architectural wall space,combined with social customs,visual sensibility,and art.It may also become the...Ceramic relief mural is a contemporary landscape art that is carefully designed based on human nature,culture,and architectural wall space,combined with social customs,visual sensibility,and art.It may also become the main axis of ceramic art in the future.Taiwan public ceramic relief murals(PCRM)are most distinctive with the PCRM pioneered by Pan-Hsiung Chu of Meinong Kiln in 1987.In addition to breaking through the limitations of traditional public ceramic murals,Chu leveraged local culture and sensibility.The theme of art gives PCRM its unique style and innovative value throughout the Taiwan region.This study mainly analyzes and understands the design image of public ceramic murals,taking Taiwan PCRM’s design and creation as the scope,and applies STEEP analysis,that is,the social,technological,economic,ecological,and political-legal environments are analyzed as core factors;eight main important factors in the artistic design image of ceramic murals are evaluated.Then,interpretive structural modeling(ISM)is used to establish five levels,analyze the four main problems in the main core factor area and the four main target results in the affected factor area;and analyze the problem points and target points as well as their causal relationships.It is expected to sort out the relationship between these factors,obtain the hierarchical relationship of each factor,and provide a reference basis and research methods.展开更多

Classical Chinese characters,presented through calligraphy,seal engraving,or painting,can exhibit different aesthetics and essences of Chinese characters,making them the most important asset of the Chinese people.Call...Classical Chinese characters,presented through calligraphy,seal engraving,or painting,can exhibit different aesthetics and essences of Chinese characters,making them the most important asset of the Chinese people.Calligraphy and seal engraving,as two closely related systems in traditional Chinese art,have developed through the ages.Due to changes in lifestyle and advancements in modern technology,their original functions of daily writing and verification have gradually diminished.Instead,they have increasingly played a significant role in commercial art.This study utilizes the Evaluation Grid Method(EGM)and the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)to research the key preference factors in the application of calligraphy and seal engraving imagery.Different from the traditional 5-point equal interval semantic questionnaire,this study employs a non-equal interval semantic questionnaire with a golden ratio scale,distinguishing the importance ratio of adjacent semantic meanings and highlighting the weighted emphasis on visual aesthetics.Additionally,the study uses Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA)and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution(TOPSIS)to obtain the key preference sequence of calligraphy and seal engraving culture.Plus,the Choquet integral comprehensive evaluation is used as a reference for IPA comparison.It is hoped that this study can provide cultural imagery references and research methods,injecting further creativity into industrial design.展开更多

When the machine is running, the outer spinneret (or the inner one) is fixed, the inner spinneret (or the outer one)is spinning, and a columnar net will be obtained.Then it will be excided with the help of a cutter in transporting it. Competitive sports data analysis tasks increasingly use computer vision and machine-learning models for in...Background Data-driven event analysis has gradually become the backbone of modern competitive sports analysis. Competitive sports data analysis tasks increasingly use computer vision and machine-learning models for intelligent data analysis. Existing sports visualization systems focus on the player–team data visualization, which is not intuitive enough for team season win–loss data and game time-series data visualization and neglects the prediction of all-star players. Methods This study used an interactive visualization system designed with parallel aggregated ordered hypergraph dynamic hypergraphs, Calliope visualization data story technology,and i Storyline narrative visualization technology to visualize the regular statistics and game time data of players and teams. NPIPVis includes dynamic hypergraphs of a team’s wins and losses and game plot narrative visualization components. In addition, an integrated learning-based all-star player prediction model, SRR-voting, which starts from the existing minority and majority samples, was proposed using the synthetic minority oversampling technique and Random Under Sampler methods to generate and eliminate samples of a certain size to balance the number of allstar and average players in the datasets. Next, a random forest algorithm was introduced to extract and construct the features of players and combined with the voting integrated model to predict the all-star players, using GridSearch CV, to optimize the hyperparameters of each model in integrated learning and then combined with five-fold cross-validation to improve the generalization ability of the model. Finally, the SHapley Additive ex Planations(SHAP) model was introduced to enhance the interpretability of the model. Results The experimental results of comparing the SRR-voting model with six common models show that the accuracy, F1-score, and recall metrics are significantly improved, which verifies the effectiveness and practicality of the SRR-voting model. Conclusions This study combines data visualization and machine learning to design a National Basketball Association data visualization system to help the general audience visualize game data and predict all-star players;this can also be extended to other sports events or related fields.展开更多

Urban forest has undergone rapid development in China over the last three decades because of the acceleration of urbanization.Urban forest thus plays an increasingly important role in carbon sequestration at a regiona...Urban forest has undergone rapid development in China over the last three decades because of the acceleration of urbanization.Urban forest thus plays an increasingly important role in carbon sequestration at a regional and national scale.As one of the most urbanized cities in China,Shanghai showed an increase of forest coverage from 3% in the 1990s to 13% in 2009.Based on CITY-green model and the second soil survey of Shanghai,the forest biomass carbon(FBC) was estimated to be 0.48 Tg in the urban area and,forest soil organic carbon(SOC)(0-100 cm soil depth) is 2.48 Tg in the urban and suburban areas,respectively.These values are relatively within the median and lower level compared with other Chinese megacities,with the FBC of 0.02 Tg in Harbin to 47.29 Tg in Chongqing and the forest SOC of 1.74 Tg in Nanjing to 418.67 Tg in Chongqing.For the different land-use types in Shanghai,the SOC density ranges from 13.8(tidal field) to 38.6 t ha-1(agricultural land).On average,the forest SOC density(31.5 t ha-1) in Shanghai is lower than that in agricultural lands(38.6 t ha-1) and higher than that in lawns(26.5 t ha-1) and gardens(21.3 t ha-1).In Shanghai,the SOC density in newly established urban parks is generally lower than that in older parks.In the northern and southeastern suburban areas(e.g.,Baoshan,Yangpu,and Nanhui districts),greenspace SOC density is higher than that in the central commercial areas(Hongkou,Putuo,Changning,and Zhabei districts) and in newly developed district(Pudong District).Uncertainties still exist in the estimation of urban forest carbon in Shanghai,as well as in other Chinese cities.Thus,future research directions are also discussed in this paper.展开更多
Climbing behavior is a superior motion skill that animals have evolved to obtain a more beneficial position in complex natural environments.Compared to animals,current bionic climbing robots are less agile,stable,and ...Climbing behavior is a superior motion skill that animals have evolved to obtain a more beneficial position in complex natural environments.Compared to animals,current bionic climbing robots are less agile,stable,and energy-efficient.Further,they locomote at a low speed and have poor adaptation to the substrate.One of the key elements that can improve their locomotion efficiency is the active and flexible feet or toes observed in climbing animals.Inspired by the active attachment-detachment behavior of geckos,a hybrid pneumatic-electric-driven climbing robot with active attachment-detachment bionic flexible feet(toes)was developed.Although the introduction of bionic flexible toes can effectively improve the robot’s adaptability to the environment,it also poses control challenges,specifically,the realization of attachment-detachment behavior by the mechanics of the feet,the realization of hybrid drive control with different response characteristics,and the interlimb collaboration and limb-foot coordination with a hysteresis effect.Through the analysis of geckos’limbs and foot kinematic behavior during climbing,rhythmic attachment-detachment strategies and coordination behavior between toes and limbs at different inclines were identified.To enable the robot to achieve similar foot attachment-detachment behavior for climbing ability enhancement,we propose a modular neural control framework comprising a central pattern generator module,a post-processing central pattern generation module,a hysteresis delay line module,and an actuator signal conditioning module.Among them,the hysteresis adaptation module helps the bionic flexible toes to achieve variable phase relationships with the motorized joint,thus enabling proper limb-to-foot coordination and interlimb collaboration.The experiments demonstrated that the robot with neural control achieved proper coordination,resulting in a foot with a 285%larger adhesion area than that of a conventional algorithm.In addition,in the plane/arc climbing scenario,the robot with coordination behavior increased by as much as 150%,compared to the incoordinated one owing to its higher adhesion reliability.展开更多

文摘Urban forest has undergone rapid development in China over the last three decades because of the acceleration of urbanization.Urban forest thus plays an increasingly important role in carbon sequestration at a regional and national scale.As one of the most urbanized cities in China,Shanghai showed an increase of forest coverage from 3% in the 1990s to 13% in 2009.Based on CITY-green model and the second soil survey of Shanghai,the forest biomass carbon(FBC) was estimated to be 0.48 Tg in the urban area and,forest soil organic carbon(SOC)(0-100 cm soil depth) is 2.48 Tg in the urban and suburban areas,respectively.These values are relatively within the median and lower level compared with other Chinese megacities,with the FBC of 0.02 Tg in Harbin to 47.29 Tg in Chongqing and the forest SOC of 1.74 Tg in Nanjing to 418.67 Tg in Chongqing.For the different land-use types in Shanghai,the SOC density ranges from 13.8(tidal field) to 38.6 t ha-1(agricultural land).On average,the forest SOC density(31.5 t ha-1) in Shanghai is lower than that in agricultural lands(38.6 t ha-1) and higher than that in lawns(26.5 t ha-1) and gardens(21.3 t ha-1).In Shanghai,the SOC density in newly established urban parks is generally lower than that in older parks.In the northern and southeastern suburban areas(e.g.,Baoshan,Yangpu,and Nanhui districts),greenspace SOC density is higher than that in the central commercial areas(Hongkou,Putuo,Changning,and Zhabei districts) and in newly developed district(Pudong District).Uncertainties still exist in the estimation of urban forest carbon in Shanghai,as well as in other Chinese cities.Thus,future research directions are also discussed in this paper.

文摘Climbing behavior is a superior motion skill that animals have evolved to obtain a more beneficial position in complex natural environments.Compared to animals,current bionic climbing robots are less agile,stable,and energy-efficient.Further,they locomote at a low speed and have poor adaptation to the substrate.One of the key elements that can improve their locomotion efficiency is the active and flexible feet or toes observed in climbing animals.Inspired by the active attachment-detachment behavior of geckos,a hybrid pneumatic-electric-driven climbing robot with active attachment-detachment bionic flexible feet(toes)was developed.Although the introduction of bionic flexible toes can effectively improve the robot’s adaptability to the environment,it also poses control challenges,specifically,the realization of attachment-detachment behavior by the mechanics of the feet,the realization of hybrid drive control with different response characteristics,and the interlimb collaboration and limb-foot coordination with a hysteresis effect.Through the analysis of geckos’limbs and foot kinematic behavior during climbing,rhythmic attachment-detachment strategies and coordination behavior between toes and limbs at different inclines were identified.To enable the robot to achieve similar foot attachment-detachment behavior for climbing ability enhancement,we propose a modular neural control framework comprising a central pattern generator module,a post-processing central pattern generation module,a hysteresis delay line module,and an actuator signal conditioning module.Among them,the hysteresis adaptation module helps the bionic flexible toes to achieve variable phase relationships with the motorized joint,thus enabling proper limb-to-foot coordination and interlimb collaboration.The experiments demonstrated that the robot with neural control achieved proper coordination,resulting in a foot with a 285%larger adhesion area than that of a conventional algorithm.In addition,in the plane/arc climbing scenario,the robot with coordination behavior increased by as much as 150%,compared to the incoordinated one owing to its higher adhesion reliability.
