When contaminated...The Niger Delta has experienced tons of crude oil spill within their environment over the years and its impact on the environment is quite lethal. The soil is a major recipient of this spilled crude. When contaminated with crude oil, the load bearing capacity is consequently affected. This study aimed at providing a statistical evidence to prove that the impact of crude oil contamination on the soil＇s bearing capacity is significant. Four samples of uncontaminated soil of Kwale were collected and analyzed for their load bearing properties： cohesion （c）, angle of internal friction （θ°） and bulk density （γ）. These soil samples were polluted with crude oil in levels of 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% and compared with intact soil. A consistent reduction was observed in the bearing capacity as the crude oil level increased. Using the SPSS （statistically package for social sciences）, the significance was tested at the various contamination levels at a 5% confidence level and the result showed significance at 15% and 20% levels with calculated P-values of 0.038 and 0.035 respectively for both the square and strip foundation footings.展开更多
The small and medium enterprise firms are renowned for improving the nation’s economy through the provision of job opportunities for its populace,improving the financial and investment status of the countries a...The small and medium enterprise firms are renowned for improving the nation’s economy through the provision of job opportunities for its populace,improving the financial and investment status of the countries and provision of innovative products that meets the need of the people.SMEs are key players in the economy,through sustainable development goals(SDGs)enabling them to thrive in the open business environment and actively applying the digital transformation,promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization should be the core of any country government.This research is designed to explore the influence of government intervention and support on enterprise performance and growth in five business sectors-Hospitality,Education,Health care,Bottled Water Production and Transport and Logistics organizations.The research paper had a descriptive research design with a randomly selected sample size of one hundred and ninety-seven respondents.The research hypotheses were tested using(Factor Analysis and Ordinal Logistic Regression Analysis)with Statistical Packages for Social Science(SPSS)version 25.The results of the study reveal that government intervention policies and intervention programmes when instituted will promote the growth of business firms in Nigeria.Also identified are relevant recommendations that serve as motivation for policy administrators,entrepreneurs,and business managers to ensure that relevant intervention programme is adopted to boost performance and growth of the SME sector in Nigeria.展开更多
To meet the needs of today’s library users,institutions are developing library mobile apps(LMAs),as their libraries are increasingly intelligent and rely on deep learning.This paper explores the influencing factors a...To meet the needs of today’s library users,institutions are developing library mobile apps(LMAs),as their libraries are increasingly intelligent and rely on deep learning.This paper explores the influencing factors and differences in the perception of LMAs at different time points after a user has downloaded an LMA.A research model was constructed based on the technology acceptance model.A questionnaire was designed and distributed twice to LMA users with an interval of three months to collect dynamic data.The analysis was based on structural equation modeling.The empirical results show that the perceived ease of use,the perceived usefulness,the social influence,and the facilitating conditions affected the users’behavioral intention,but their impacts were different at different times.As the usage time increases,the technology acceptance model is still universal for understanding the user perception of LMA.In addition,two extended variables(social impact and convenience)also affect the user’s behavior intention.User behavior is dynamic and changed over time.This study is important both theoretically and practically,as the results could be used to improve the service quality of LMAs and reduce the loss rate of users.Its findings may help the designers and developers of LMAs to optimize them from the perspective of a user and improve the service experience by providing a deeper understanding of the adoption behavior of information systems by LMA users.展开更多
