Every year during monsoon season heavy rain fall and lack of disaster management skills potentially increase the transmission of waterborne diseases, vector borne diseases and viral outbreaks. Due to severe flooding, thousands of people lose their lives and millions are displaced each year. In most of the cases the children who lose their family members are forced into illegal professions of begging, child labor and prostitution which make them prone to sexually transmitted infections. Up to date, no scientific study has been conducted nationwide to illustrate epidemiological patterns of waterborne diseases, vector borne diseases and viral epidemics during flash flood. Mosquito sprays would not be a sufficient approach for dengue eradication; mass awareness, larvicide and biological control by Guppy fishes are also effective strategies to overcome dengue problem. International health bodies and non-governmental organizations must take note of this alerting situation and take adequate steps such as financial/medical aid in order to defeat the after-effects of flood.展开更多
Fruit classification utilizing a deep convolutional neural network(CNN)is the most promising application in personal computer vision(CV).Profound learning-related characterization made it possible to recognize fruits ...Fruit classification utilizing a deep convolutional neural network(CNN)is the most promising application in personal computer vision(CV).Profound learning-related characterization made it possible to recognize fruits from pictures.But,due to the similarity and complexity,fruit recognition becomes an issue for the stacked fruits on a weighing scale.Recently,Machine Learning(ML)methods have been used in fruit farming and agriculture and brought great convenience to human life.An automated system related to ML could perform the fruit classifier and sorting tasks previously managed by human experts.CNN’s(convolutional neural networks)have attained incredible outcomes in image classifiers in several domains.Considering the success of transfer learning and CNNs in other image classifier issues,this study introduces an Artificial Humming Bird Optimization with Siamese Convolutional Neural Network based Fruit Classification(AMO-SCNNFC)model.In the presented AMO-SCNNFC technique,image preprocessing is performed to enhance the contrast level of the image.In addition,spiral optimization(SPO)with the VGG-16 model is utilized to derive feature vectors.For fruit classification,AHO with end to end SCNN(ESCNN)model is applied to identify different classes of fruits.The performance validation of the AMO-SCNNFC technique is tested using a dataset comprising diverse classes of fruit images.Extensive comparison studies reported improving the AMOSCNNFC technique over other approaches with higher accuracy of 99.88%.展开更多
Objective:To document the traditional uses of wild plants as medicine by the villagers along the coastal highway from Karachi to Uthal.Methods:Information presented in this research was gathered from the local people ...Objective:To document the traditional uses of wild plants as medicine by the villagers along the coastal highway from Karachi to Uthal.Methods:Information presented in this research was gathered from the local people using an integrated approach of floral collections,discussions with the elderly people and traditional medicinal practitioners using semi-structured questionnaire.Results:27 families in the targeted area.Majority of the plants(54%)from this coastal plant diversity were xerophytes followed by halophytes/xero-halophytes(40%)and glycophytes(6%).The most important uses included gastrointestinal diseases,pain killer,arthritis,skin and sexual disorders,asthma and expectorant.The above-ground parts of plants i.e.leaf,stem and fruit/seed as decoction are used most commonly to cure 23 ailments but root was also used in some cases.Conclusions:Ethno-medicinal surveys indicated the medicinal importance of 54 plant species from phyto-medicinal claim and it is hoped that it will lead to detailed chemical and pharmacological evaluations.This may also lead to a discovery of novel bioactive compounds for food and pharmaceutical industries.This study helps in documenting therapeutic uses of herbal remedies with new pevhayltou-amtioendsic.iTnhali sc lmaiamy aanldso i tl iesa hdo tpoe da tdhiastc iot vweirlyl loeaf dn otov edle tbaiioleadc tcihveem ciocmalp aonudn pdhs afromr afcoooldog aicnadl pharmaceutical industries.展开更多
This paper proposes the mathematical model to investigate how to compute and analyze the tsunami wave parameters and the retrieval of its early warning using remote sensing technique to improve the detection rate.The ...This paper proposes the mathematical model to investigate how to compute and analyze the tsunami wave parameters and the retrieval of its early warning using remote sensing technique to improve the detection rate.The different methods available for the evaluation of the tsunami detection systems are also introduced.This research work is to compute and analyze the tsunami wave parameters such as Eigen functions in deep,intermediate and shallow water regions.The computational and algorithmic analysis of tsunami wave parameters are achieved in three steps:the first step is to calculate the earthquake fault parameters such as length,width,area and displacement from the epicenter,which corresponds to the effect of its variation with respect to the earthquake magnitude.The variation of each fault parameters have been measured and recorded out over the certain moment of magnitudes(M).This shows smaller values as compared to the earthquake magnitude M 9.5 at which all the parameters shows very large response.The second step involves the measurements of water wave angular frequency in deep,intermediate and shallower region of ocean.The values of angular frequencies in deep water shows the lesser response as compared to other two water conditions because,in deep water the angular velocity of water particles travels with the lesser speed as compared to the shallower region as per Airy’s wave theory.The simulation results show the angular velocity in Deep Ocean is very less,moderate in the intermediate water and very high on the coastal region.It indicates the higher impact on coastal region.The third step involves the simulation study of measurement of tsunami Eigen functions such as orbital velocity,acceleration,wave potential in deep,intermediate and shallower water regions.The simulation result shows the resultant orbital velocity and accelerations in deep,intermediate and shallow water regions provides the similar response as angular velocity due to same proportion of the water displacement from deep to coastal regions.Hence the dynamic forces are very high approximately 1 km from the beaches.Once the Tsunami waves approaches to the beach,wave height increases whereas particle acceleration decreases because near the coast,due to geological structure of the earth’s surface,inertia and gravity forces increase to the extreme limits,while particle acceleration and velocity values reach close to zero.The wave potential Eigen function has also been plotted and measured with respect to the water depth condition and the similar response is obtained in the simulation result.The validation of each result has also been presented with the standard simulated data,which shows the results as less than 10%of the accuracy.展开更多
The debate on Security Sector Reform(SSR)in Palestine has emerged within the context of the peace process between Israel and Palestinians,in particular following the Oslo agreement in 1993.There are different percepti...The debate on Security Sector Reform(SSR)in Palestine has emerged within the context of the peace process between Israel and Palestinians,in particular following the Oslo agreement in 1993.There are different perceptions of the significance and relevance of SSR in the Palestinian context,and these depend on ideological,political allegiances and interests of domestic,regional and international actors talking about SSR.Some blame the Israeli occupation and military activities and also the governance of the Palestinian security sector for the deterioration of internal security.Others consider that the SSR is an integral element of the process of state-building to allow the Palestinians to establish an effective authority over their territories.However,Israel and external actors like the United States and the European Union still look at Palestinian SSR as a means to confront“terror and violence”and to prevent the emergence of any dangers to Israel.Israeli occupation and internal political divisions described and analyzed in this article as major challenges for Palestinian SSR.In addition,this article argues that this reform is not an end in itself,but is a necessary and a fundamental element to achieve the Palestinian national project in terms of liberation and state-building.展开更多
