The severity of traffic accidents is a serious global concern,particularly in developing nations.Knowing the main causes and contributing circumstances may reduce the severity of traffic accidents.There exist many machine learning models and decision support systems to predict road accidents by using datasets from different social media forums such as Twitter,blogs and Facebook.Although such approaches are popular,there exists an issue of data management and low prediction accuracy.This article presented a deep learning-based sentiment analytic model known as Extra-large Network Bi-directional long short term memory(XLNet-Bi-LSTM)to predict traffic collisions based on data collected from social media.Initially,a Tweet dataset has been formed by using an exhaustive keyword-based searching strategy.In the next phase,two different types of features named as individual tokens and pair tokens have been obtained by using POS tagging and association rule mining.The output of this phase has been forwarded to a three-layer deep learning model for final prediction.Numerous experiment has been performed to test the efficiency of the proposed XLNet-Bi-LSTM model.It has been shown that the proposed model achieved 94.2%prediction accuracy. 展开更多

Rapidly increasing cryptocurrency prices have encouraged cryptocurrency miners to participate in cryptocurrency production,increasing network hashrates and electricity consumption.Growth in network hashrates has further crowded out small cryptocurrency investors owing to the heightened costs of mining hardware and electricity.These changes prompt cryptocurrency miners to become new investors,leading to cryptocurrency price increases.The potential bidirectional relationship between cryptocurrency price and electricity consumption remains unidentified.Hence,this research thus utilizes July 312015–July 122019 data from 13 cryptocurrencies to investigate the short-and long-run causal effects between cryptocurrency transaction and electricity consumption.Particularly,we consider structural breaks induced by external shocks through stationary analysis and comovement relationships.Over the examined time period,we found that the series of cryptocurrency transaction and electricity consumption gradually returns to mean convergence after undergoing daily shocks,with prices trending together with hashrates.Transaction fluctuations exert both a temporary effect and permanent influence on electricity consumption.Therefore,owing to the computational power deployed to wherever high profit is found,transactions are vital determinants of electricity consumption. 展开更多

基于95篇文献的96个独立研究(总样本量N=9052),对团队反思与团队资源开发、团队资源利用及团队结果(团队任务绩效、团队创造力、团队创新绩效)的关系进行了元分析,检验了国家文化(权力距离、集体主义、阳刚主义、长期取向)的调节作用,... 基于95篇文献的96个独立研究(总样本量N=9052),对团队反思与团队资源开发、团队资源利用及团队结果(团队任务绩效、团队创造力、团队创新绩效)的关系进行了元分析,检验了国家文化(权力距离、集体主义、阳刚主义、长期取向)的调节作用,探究了团队资源开发、团队资源利用在团队反思与团队结果间的中介效应。结果表明:(1)团队反思与团队资源开发、团队资源利用、团队任务绩效、团队创造力、团队创新绩效存在中等程度以上的正相关关系。(2)权力距离正向调节团队反思与团队资源利用、团队任务绩效的关系,集体主义正向调节团队反思与团队资源利用、团队任务绩效、团队创新绩效的关系,阳刚主义正向调节团队反思与团队资源利用的关系,长期取向正向调节团队反思与团队任务绩效的关系。(3)团队资源开发和团队资源利用中介了团队反思与团队结果的关系。相较团队资源开发,团队资源利用在团队反思与团队任务绩效间的中介作用更强;相较团队资源利用,团队资源开发在团队反思与团队创造力之间的中介作用更强;团队资源开发、团队资源利用在团队反思与团队创新绩效之间的中介作用不存在显著差异。研究结果有助于理解团队反思与团队资源开发、利用和团队结果的关系及跨文化差异,并为实践中的团队反思提供参考。 展开更多

Purpose: Elaboration of an indicator to include the dynamic aspect of citations in bibliometric indexes.Design/methodology/approach: A new bibliometric methodology—the f^2-index—is applied at the career level and at the level of the recent 5 years to analyze the dynamic aspect of bibliometrics. The method is applied, as an illustration, to the field of corporate governance.Findings: The compound F^2-index as an extension of the f^2-index recognizes past achievements but also values new research work with potential. The method is extended to the h-index and the h^2-index. An activity index is defined as the ratio between the recent h'-index to the career h-index.Research limitations: The compound F^2 and H-indexes are PAC, probably approximately correct, and depend on the selection and database.Practical implications: The F^2-and H compound indexes allow identifying the rising stars of a field from a dynamic perspective. The activity ratio highlights the contribution of younger researchers.Originality/value: The new methodology demonstrates the underestimated dynamic capacity of bibliometric research. 展开更多

China and the United States are the two most significant nations in the contemporary global food and agricultural network.In addition,they are two of the most important innovators with respect to the development of new crop varieties,agro-technologies,farm products,markets and consumer issues,such as consumer resistance to genetically modified foods,among others.In the face of an ever-complex web of interactions,technologies and products among producers and consumers in both nations,there are far more structural similarities than differences in the food and agriculture sectors of these two nations.This essay,adopting some of the themes of the Sino-American Symposium on Future Issues Affecting Quality of Life,presents a limited but representative comparative assessment of three of the most important shared challenges impacting the agricultural sectors of China and the United States for the period from 2000 to the present including 1)environmental challenges related to agricultural water supply,2)declines in farm labor and rural population,and 3)growing food-related concerns and challenges.For both nations,excessive and unsustainable groundwater consumption has lowered water tables and limited crop production.Rural populations and farm workforces in both nations are also declining,leading to labor challenges in both nations.Finally,concerns regarding food safety are also very similar with major challenges to the farm sector associated with consumer resistance to genetically modified food crops and sanitation issues linked to lengthening supply chains.All of these issues threaten the development of sustainable agricultural production systems. 展开更多

Purpose: To show for which publication-citation arrays h-type indices are equal and to reconsider rational h-type indices. Results for these research questions fill some gaps in existing basic knowledge about h-type indices.Design/methodology/approach: The results and introduction of new indicators are based on well-known definitions.Findings: The research purpose has been reached: answers to the first questions are obtained and new indicators are defined. Research limitations: h-type indices do not meet the Bouyssou-Marchant independence requirement.Practical implications: On the one hand, more insight has been obtained for well-known indices such as the h-and the g-index and on the other hand, simple extensions of existing indicators have been added to the bibliometric toolbox. Relative rational h-type indices are more useful for individuals than the existing absolute ones.Originality/value: Answers to basic questions such as "when are the values of two h-type indices equal" are provided. Moreover, with the rapid growth of Internet and mobile networks, people can easily access various services provided by mobile platforms. Many services can be executed on the mobile devices with various mobile applications launched to mobile platforms. People can choose what they like to install in their mobile devices and hence make their life more convenient, entertaining, and productive. However, there are too many mobile applications for users to choose. The goal of this research is to propose a methodology which can recommend top-N lists for mobile applications. A comment correlation matrix is proposed. Furthermore, a recommendation algorithm for mobile applications based on user comments and key attributes is built. With the proposed method, it outperforms Google play and is closer to user real feelings. 展开更多

An application to explore the association between customer satisfaction and shareholder value is included in the paper. The Bayesian models allow the flexibility of incorporating industry and firm factors in the context of the application to help explain variations of the regression coefficients. Results from the analysis indicate that the effect of customer satisfaction on shareholder value is not homogeneous over time. The proposed methodology provides a powerful tool to explore the relationship between two important business concepts. 展开更多

Company experts and academicianshave paid significant attention to issues of new product/service development. However, few studies have been carried outtodiscuss innovative product/service development mindful of the competitive positions between competitors. This study introduces a hybrid method of positioning analysis, conjoint analysis and rough set theory to understand the competition positions and facilitate innovative product/service development from the customers’ perspective. The hybrid method is also supported by in-depth interviewing, factor analysis, preference regression, ideas simulation, ideas selection, and specific weight valuation methods. We choose the automobile maintenance industry in Taiwan, whose objective is to improve product/service qualities and enhance customers’ satisfaction and loyalty.This is also the subject of our empirical study. The results show that the proposed hybrid method is effective for innovative product/service development. Moreover, the empirical findings provide useful information for automobile maintenance providers so that they may be better able to pay attention to their competitive positions and their customers’ preferences, and better able to facilitate their innovative automobile maintenance service development, in order to achieve sustainable competitive advantages. 展开更多

A survey research design was adopted. The source of data used in this study was mainly primary data from the issuance of questionnaire and secondary data from the review of relevant literature bothering on both variables which formed the basis for the argument. Out of a total of three hundred and eighty four (384) copies of questionnaire distributed, two hundred and eighty five (285) copies was used for analysis and analyzed using Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation Coefficient with the help of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings of the study reveal amongst others that there is a positive and strong relationship between online advertising and customers’ satisfaction;and online advertising significantly affects customer satisfaction. The study concludes that online advertising influenced satisfaction of the customers to a strong extent. However, online advertising is a key determinant of customer satisfaction as it is considered as a point of interaction between customers and the company from which they buy their products. A heuristic model was proposed to show our contribution to knowledge that the relationship between e-mail marketing and measures of customer satisfaction is very strong and is moderate on all other tested hypotheses. And the study recommends that advertising managers of e-tailing firms must develop and formulate e-mail marketing programs that will satisfy the needs of consumers and advert should be placed on stations and places where consumers can easily identify with them and make a purchase. The study examined the determinant of mobile banking adoption among bank customers in Ghana, with specific emphasis on Access Bank. In line with literature, the study applies theoretical frameworks which have been developed from existing literatures on innovation and adoption to collect responses from one hundred and fifty (150) sampled customers of Access Bank in order to investigate the determinants of mobile banking adoption in the Ghanaian banking industry. The results from the study revealed that, each factor measured had some level of significant effect on consumer intention to adopt and use mobile banking services provided by Access Bank. Additionally, the study unveiled that, perceived credibility and perceived financial cost were the major setback with regards to customers adoption of mobile banking services provided by Access Bank, and as a result of this, Ghanaians have formed a negative behavioural pattern towards mobile banking. In addition, the findings showed that, perceived credibility and perceived financial cost have a stronger effect on consumer intention to adopt and use mobile banking service than perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. It was, therefore, recommended that banks in Ghana should create more awareness through personal interaction with customers, develop quality initiatives in order to build customer’s confidence. Background:The aim of the current study is to investigate how consumer behaviour in a financial cost scenario,assessed by using a cost-discounting paradigm,can be influenced by an emotional state.To our knowledge,this is the first study to analyze the effect of emotional priming on cost discounting behavior.Cost discounting,is a phenomenon whereby a decline of subjective value is observed given a time delay before receiving,or losing,something of value.This raises the question:what traits and skills do these young individuals possess that allow them to inhibit acting to obtain an immediate reward?A common explanation by delayed discounting researchers is that individuals who have a higher subjective value as a function of time(i.e.,discount less),are able to control their emotional response to the reward(Gómez-Miñambres et al.,2017).By delving further into both emotion and discounting research,it becomes more apparent that the two factors interact,and deserve more attention in behavioural science and consumer behaviour research.Methods:Participants(N=144)were recruited from the John Molson School of Business Participant Pool.To induce emotion,images from the international affective picture system were used.Participants were randomly assigned to one of the five emotional priming conditions(neutral valence×neutral arousal,low valence×low arousal,low valence×high arousal,high valence×low arousal,high valence×high arousal).After viewing a series of 20 pictures that were presented sequentially for 5 seconds per image,participants were then tested in either cost scenario($1,000 or$25,000),with a succession of choices between incurring a fixed cost now,or a increased cost over a given time delay(e.g.,PAY$1,000 today,or PAY$1,250 in 1 month).Results:In both the$1,000 and$25,000 cost conditions,it was shown that the null hypothesis was approximately 16 times more likely to explain the variance accounted for(BF01=16.05,error=1.37%)in this experiment.However,it is noteworthy to address that between high arousal×positive valence and high arousal×negative valence conditions,the two conditions at opposing ends of the emotional priming spectrum,a significant difference was observed,t(64)=−2.27,P=0.03,d=0.56,BF10=2.00,error=0.01%,in their respective discounting rates.Conclusions:A significant result between the two previously mentioned subgroups is the comparison between the respective cost discounting behaviour of two most extreme ends of the pictorial emotional priming spectrum.These findings are to be taken anecdotally for a variety reason.The overall effect of difference between the five subgroups’discounting rates was observed to be vastly more probabilistic of the null hypothesis.The data collected for the current study demonstrates an association between visually induce emotional affect and cost-oriented decision making.However,there is in need of further investigation in order to establish any definitive linkages. 展开更多

This paper evaluates accommodation of conflict management strategies and board performances in oil and gas sector.The study details the re­flection of effectiveness,efficiency and productivity as the answer to thorough efficiency in accommodation of conflict management in oil and gas sector,these parameters in the system express their efficacy on con­flict management in these multinationals,this implies that for thorough efficiency,these variables must work simultaneously for effective and efficient in structural organization that can be a leading multinational sector in oil and gas environment.The study observed Linearized result from graphical representation explaining predominant lower efficiency and little higher efficiency in accommodation of conflict management in oil and gas companies.These experiences from the study monitor the system from generated simulation values that describe the growth rates in exponential phase of accommodation conflict strategic management.Despite exponential phase the results experienced lower parameters,when comparing on its variations showing its poor efficiency as observed in the study.Few periods observed higher effective accommodation on conflict strategic management.The developed model stimulation values were subjected to validation and both parameters generated favourable fits correlation,the study expressed the deficiency on accommodation of conflict management strategy thus developed models that can monitor the fluctuation and progressive state of accommodation on conflict manage­ment strategy,it defines the reflection of other parameters that express the behaviour of the system in terms of conceptual approach to monitor these type of strategic management in oil and gas companies. 展开更多
