Reviewing the empirical and theoretical parameter relationships between various parameters is a good way to understand more about contact binary systems.In this investigation,two-dimensional(2D)relationships for P–MV(system),P–L1,2,M1,2–L1,2,and q–Lratiowere revisited.The sample used is related to 118 contact binary systems with an orbital period shorter than 0.6 days whose absolute parameters were estimated based on the Gaia Data Release 3 parallax.We reviewed previous studies on 2D relationships and updated six parameter relationships.Therefore,Markov chain Monte Carlo and Machine Learning methods were used,and the outcomes were compared.We selected 22 contact binary systems from eight previous studies for comparison,which had light curve solutions using spectroscopic data.The results show that the systems are in good agreement with the results of this study. 展开更多

In backlighting systems for liquid crystal displays,conventional red,green,and blue(RGB)light sources that lack polarization properties can result in a significant optical loss of up to 50%when passing through a polarizer.To address this inefficiency and optimize energy utilization,this study presents a high-performance device designed for RGB polarized emissions.The device employs an array of semipolar blueμLEDs with inherent polarization capabilities,coupled with mechanically stretched films of green-emitting CsPbBr3 nanorods and red-emitting CsPbI3-Cs4PbI6 hybrid nanocrystals.The CsPbBr3 nanorods in the polymer film offer intrinsic polarization emission,while the aligned-wire structures formed by the stable CsPbI3-Cs4PbI6 hybrid nanocrystals contribute to substantial anisotropic emissions,due to their high dielectric constant.The resulting device achieved RGB polarization degrees of 0.26,0.48,and 0.38,respectively,and exhibited a broad color gamut,reaching 137.2%of the NTSC standard and 102.5%of the Rec.2020 standard.When compared to a device utilizing c-plane LEDs for excitation,the current approach increased the intensity of light transmitted through the polarizer by 73.6%.This novel fabrication approach for polarized devices containing RGB components holds considerable promise for advancing next-generation display technologies. 展开更多

The Gaia DR3 parallax approach was used to estimate the absolute parameters of 2375δScuti stars from the ASAS catalog.The selected stars have a variety of observational characteristics,with a higher than 80%probability of beingδScuti stars.We have displayed all the stars in the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram along with theδScuti instability strip,the Zero Age Main Sequence and the Terminal Age Main Sequence.Then,we determined which fundamental and overtone modes each star belongs to using pulsation constant(Q)calculations.In addition,we evaluated the parameters in the Q calculation equation using three machine learning methods,which showed that surface gravity and temperature have the greatest effect on its calculation.The Period-Luminosity(P-L)relationship of theδScuti stars was also revisited.Eventually,using least squares linear regression,we made four linear fits for fundamental and overtone modes and updated their relationships. 展开更多

Noninvasive gluoose monitoring development is critical for diabetic patient continuous moni-toring.However,almost all the available devices are invasive and painful.Noninvasive methods such as using spectroscopy have shown some good results.Unfortunately,the drawback was that the tungsten halogen lamps 1usage that is impractical if applied on human skin.This paper compared the light emitting diode(LED)to traditional tungsten halogen lamps as light source for glucose detection where the type of light source plays an important role in achieving a good spectrum quality.Glucose concentration measurement has been developed as part of noninvasive technique using optical spectroscopy.Small change and overlapping in tungsten halogen results need to replace it with a more convenient light source such as LED.Based on the result obtained,the performance of LED for absorbance spectrum gives a signifcantly different and is directly proportional to the glucose concentration.The result shows a linear trend and scucssully detects lowest at 60 to 160 mg/dL glucose concentration. 展开更多

With regard to micro-light-emitting diodes(micro-LEDs),their excellent brightness,low energy consumption,and ultrahigh resolution are significant advantages.However,the large size of traditional inorganic phosphors and the number of side defects have restricted the practical applications of small sized micro-LEDs.Recently,quantum dot(QD)and nonradiative energy transfer(NRET)have been proposed to solve existing problems.QDs possess nanoscale dimensions and high luminous efficiency,and they are suitable for NRET because they are able to nearly contact the micro-LED chip.The NRET between QDs and micro-LED chip further improves the color conversion efficiency(CCE)and effective quantum yield(EQY)of full-color micro-LED devices.In this review,we discuss the NRET mechanism for QD micro-LED devices,and then nano-pillar LED,nano-hole LED,and nano-ring LED are introduced in detail.These structures are beneficial to the NRET between QD and micro-LED,especially nano-ring LED.Finally,the challenges and future envisions have also been described. 展开更多

A transversal mode with zero group velocity and non-zero phase velocity that can exist in chains of silver nano- spheres in the optical frequency range was theoretically studied. It is shown that the external source radiating a narrow-band non-monochromatic signal can excite in the chain a mixture of standing and slowly travelling waves. The standing wave com- ponent (named as resonator mode) is strongly dominating. The physical reason of such a regime is a sign-varying distribution of power flux over the cross section of the chain. This situation is similar to the scenario of the propagation of a wave along the boundary between the right-handed and left-handed media where the spatial distribution of the light intensity is vortex. However, in the present case there is no boundary between media and the boundary between the positive and negative power fluxes is a cylindric tube in free space whose axis is the axis of the chain. 展开更多

It allows users with sensing devices to obtain medical data for healthcare, such as physiological signals, voice, and video streams from telemedicine systems, and to send the healthcare data to back-end database systems, creating a ubiquitous healthcare environment. However, this environment requires a widespread and suitable network. IPv6 (Internet protocol version 6) is the next-generation Internet protocol that will be the protocol of future networks; it improves many shortcomings of IPv4. In this paper, we propose an IPv6/IPv4 U-home-care test system and analyze the network's parameters though a series of tests by adjusting network parameters to find the optimal design for applications in the IPv6/IPv4 U-home-care service so as to assure good performance and high quality. 展开更多

Strain tunable band structure of a new 2D carbon allotrope C568

Recently,C568 has emerged as a new carbon allotrope,which shows semiconducting properties with a band gap around 1 eV and has attracted much attention.In this work,the external strain effects on the electronic properties of C568 have been studied theoretically through first-principle calculations.The numerical results show that while in-plane uniaxial and biaxial strains both reduces the band gap of C568 in case of tensile strain,their effects are quite different in the case of compressive strain.With increasing compressive uniaxial strain,the band gap of C568 first increases,and then dramatically decreases.In contrast,the application of compressive biaxial strain up to -10% only leads to a slight increase of band gap.Moreover,an indirect-todirect gap transition can be realized under both types of compressive strain.The results also show that the optical anisotropy of C568 can be induced under uniaxial strain,while biaxial strain does not cause such an effect.These results indicate good strain tunability of the band structure of C568,which could be helpful for the design and optimization of C568-based nanodevices. 展开更多

An outsource database is a database service provided by cloud computing companies.Using the outsource database can reduce the hardware and software's cost and also get more efficient and reliable data processing capacity.However,the outsource database still has some challenges.If the service provider does not have sufficient confidence,there is the possibility of data leakage.The data may has user's privacy,so data leakage may cause data privacy leak.Based on this factor,to protect the privacy of data in the outsource database becomes very important.In the past,scholars have proposed k-anonymity to protect data privacy in the database.It lets data become anonymous to avoid data privacy leak.But k-anonymity has some problems,it is irreversible,and easier to be attacked by homogeneity attack and background knowledge attack.Later on,scholars have proposed some studies to solve homogeneity attack and background knowledge attack.But their studies still cannot recover back to the original data.In this paper,we propose a data anonymity method.It can be reversible and also prevent those two attacks.Our study is based on the proposed r-transform.It can be used on the numeric type of attributes in the outsource database.In the experiment,we discussed the time required to anonymize and recover data.Furthermore,we investigated the defense against homogeneous attack and background knowledge attack.At the end,we summarized the proposed method and future researches. 展开更多

Many services can be executed on the mobile devices with various mobile applications launched to mobile platforms. People can choose what they like to install in their mobile devices and hence make their life more convenient, entertaining, and productive. However, there are too many mobile applications for users to choose. The goal of this research is to propose a methodology which can recommend top-N lists for mobile applications. A comment correlation matrix is proposed. Furthermore, a recommendation algorithm for mobile applications based on user comments and key attributes is built. Room temperature low threshold lasing of green GaNbased vertical cavity surface emitting laser(VCSEL)was demonstrated under continuous wave(CW)operation.By using self-formed InGaN quantum dots(QDs)as the active region,the VCSEL emitting at 524.0 nm has a threshold current density of 51.97 A cm^(-2),the lowest ever reported.The QD epitaxial wafer featured with a high IQE of 69.94%and theδ-function-like density of states plays an important role in achieving low threshold current.Besides,a short cavity of the device(~4.0λ)is vital to enhance the spontaneous emission coupling factor to 0.094,increase the gain coefficient factor,and decrease the optical loss.To improve heat dissipation,AlN layer was used as the current confinement layer and electroplated copper plate was used to replace metal bonding.The results provide important guidance to achieving high performance GaN-based VCSELs. 展开更多

We study cooperative spectrum sensing in cognitive radio (CR) networks using the hidden Markov model (HMM) for opportunistic spectrum access (OSA). We assume that the primary channel operates in a time division multiple address (TDMA) manner. Thus, spectrum sensing is operating in a slot-by-slot basis. In contrast to the conventional Bayesian updating using only one observation, in this work, we propose to perform the update in a concatenated fashion with all the observations available from the secondary users (SUs). In the proposed scheme, a predefined threshold on the belief is used for determining the channel activity. With the threshold, the proposed scheme is more flexible in the system operation than the simple majority vote scheme, in which no such threshold is available. We compare, by simulations, the performance of the proposed concatenated update scheme with that of the majority vote scheme and show that the probabilities of correctly detecting a busy state and an idle state are about 1 as the number of SUs is as large as 15, so the effects of the further increase in the number of SUs are limited. 展开更多

In the recent research results, the path selection, power allocation, and relay protocols on relay networks are the most important factors to improve the system performance. However, the channel quality of the direct transmission path and the relaying path has an influential effect on the performance of relay networks. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a best relaying path selection(BRPS) scheme to obtain the path diversity to improve the system capacity and data rate for cooperative networks(CNs). Simulation results show that the more the relay nodes are selected, the lower the bit error rate(BER) is. The proposed BRPS scheme obtains a high concession between both BER and system capacity for CNs. 展开更多

The invention of the Internet and mobile devices has caused tremendous changes in human lives over the past two decades. Information technology has broken through limitations of geospatial space, enabling extremely high-speed data transmission and new types of data services. In recent years, demands for data processing have shown an increasing trend. Furthermore, data generated from internet-related applications such as cloud services and self-driving technology are likely to grow exponentially over the coming years. Currently, data transmission inside integrated circuits mainly relies on metal wires. However, the substantial resistive–capacitive delay and energy loss that are caused by metal wires limit data transmission speeds. Optical interconnection has been regarded as a major solution to efficiently reduce energy consumption and increase data transmission speeds. The size of conventional semiconductor laser devices, which are the key component in optical interconnection, cannot be smaller than the wavelength of light, which is a fundamental physical obstacle to lasers integrating with current electronic integrated circuits in reasonable volumes. To realize optical interconnection, the volume of the laser device must match the existing electronic components. Recently, the use of diffraction-unlimited plasmonic lasers has been successfully demonstrated, and these have great potential in different applications. In this paper, we discuss the recent progress toward surface plasmon polariton lasers and provide practical insights into the challenges in realizing these novel devices. 展开更多

In this paper, we introduce the fractional generalized Langevin equation (FGLE) in quantum systems with memory effect. For a particular form of memory kernel that characterizes the quantum system, we obtain the analytical solution of the FGLE in terms of the two-parameter Mittag-Leffler function. Based on this solution, we study the time evolution of this system including the qubit excited-state energy, polarization and von Neumann entropy. Memory effect of this system is observed directly through the trapping states of these dynamics. 展开更多

At present, revocation proxy certificate has two kinds of methods, one is using certificate revocation list (CRL) and the other is giving the certificate a short period of validity. However, when a lot of certifications are revoked, CRL will be the burden in the system. If the certificate has a short period of validity, entities should be often updating the certificate. In this paper, we propose a scheme for proxy certificate revocation using hash tree. Our scheme only needs hash value comparisons to achieve the purpose of certificate revocation. Previous two methods have to wait the expiration of the certificate. Therefore, our scheme is more flexible than previous methods. 展开更多
