As a consequence, for any h > 0, a gain matrix K can be chosen so that the magnitude of the transition matrix e (A+BK)t can be reduced by 1/2 (or by any given portion) over [0, h]. Based on the BISQ (Biot-Squirt) model where the two mechanisms are treated simultaneously, dispersion and attenuation of elastic waves in the porous medium are widely investigated in recent years. However, we have not read any reports on numerical simulation based on the BISQ equation. In this paper, following the BISQ equation, elastic wave propagation in the transversely isotropic porous medium filled with fluids is simulated by the stag-gered grid method for different frequency and phase boundary cases and the two-layer medium. And propagating characteristics of seismic and acoustic waves and various phenomena occured in the propagating process are in-vestigated when the two mechanisms are considered simultaneously.展开更多

We include all the contributions to the Hart...Ground-state properties of C, O, and Ne isotopes are described in the framework of Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory with density-dependent finite-range Gogny interaction D1S. We include all the contributions to the Hartree-Fock and pairing feld arising from Gogny and Coulomb interaction as well as the center of mass correction in the numerical calcu/ations. These ground-state properties of C, O, and Ne isotopes are compared with available experimental results, Hartree-Fock plus BCS, shell model and relativistic Hartree--Bogoliubov calculations. The agreement between experiments and our theoretical results is pretty well. The predicted drip-line is dependent strongly on the model and effective interaction due to their sensitivity to various theoretical details. The calculations predict no evidence for halo structure predicted for C,O, and Ne isotopes in a previous RHB study.展开更多

Consequently, we prove that a function in such a class is continuous. The proposed algorithm has to solve onlyone linear system of equations and performs only one line search per iteration. Without requiringany strict complementarity assumption at the P_0–NCP solution, we show that the proposed algorithmconverges globally and superlinearly under mild conditions. Furthermore, the algorithm has localquadratic convergence under suitable conditions. The main feature of our global convergence resultsis that we do not assume a priori the existence of an accumulation point. Compared to the previousliteratures, our algorithm has stronger convergence results under weaker conditions.展开更多

The aim of the paper is to investigate under which conditions the disease becomes endemic or not and to find the difference between the model with stage structure and the corresponding model without stage structure. It is shown that either there exists a unique endemic equilibrium point which is globally asymptotically stable or the disease dies out by using an iterative scheme. The effect of the time delay on the populations at equilibria is considered.展开更多
