Methods Seventeen children with mediastinal enteric cysts in the last 20 years were studied retrospectively. Results There were one esophageal intramural cyst and 16 enteric cysts. Two of 16 cases had combined esophageal with gastric duplication. Most patients presented with symptoms of respiratory distress. Twelve patients had associated with vertebral anomalies. The cystic nature of these lesions were confirmed by ultrasound in 12 cases and MRI in 4. Eight patients who had 99Tm Tc scan showed hot spots in the posterior mediastinum. Conclusion Most patients present with symptoms of respiratory distress and vertedbral anomalies. Ultrasonography and MRI may be helpful in confirming the cyctic nature of these lesions. 99TmTc scan is the most effective method for differentiating from other mediastinal cysts. 11 refs.展开更多
To study tyrosine-kinase receptor expression in human neuroblastomas.Methods The expression levels of TrkA,TrkB and TrkC receptors were semiquantitatively examined by SABC immunohistochemistry technique in 40 cases of...To study tyrosine-kinase receptor expression in human neuroblastomas.Methods The expression levels of TrkA,TrkB and TrkC receptors were semiquantitatively examined by SABC immunohistochemistry technique in 40 cases of neuroblastomas.Results TrkA expression was only localized to NB cells in the tumor tissue and correlated positively with low tumor stage and favorable outcome (P<0.01).TrkB expression was primarily localized to spindle cells in the fibrovascular stroma of advanced tumor,but the correlation of TrkB expression with tumor stage and outcome wasn’t statistically significant (P>0.05).TrkC expression was mainly localized to NB cells in the tumor tissue and usually accompanied by TrkA expression in NB cells of developed differentiation,but TrkC expression didn’t statistically correlate with tumor stage and outcome (P>0.05).Conclusion The expression of tyrosine-kinase receptor TrkA correlates with the tumor stage and prognosis in neuroblastomas.10 refs,2 figs,1 tab.展开更多
