Hemodynamic changes with serial balloon pulmonary angioplasty in chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension

Objective To monitor hemodynamic changes during serial balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH).Methods General clinical data of CTEPH patients diagnosed from October 2017 to January 2022 in Beijing Chaoyang Hospital were collected,and 83 patients who underwent at least 1 BPA treatment were included to analyze their 6 min walking distance,WHO functional class,N-terminal B-type natriuretic peptide precursor(NT-proBNP),troponin I (cTnI) and haemodynamic indices.

Effect of SHP-1 knockout in airway epithelial cells on emphysema phenotype in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in mice

Objective To construct and characterize conditional Src homology region 2 protein tyrosine phosphatase 1(SHP-1)knockout mice in airway epithelial cells and to observe the effect of defective SHP-1 expression in airway epithelial cells on the emphysema phenotype in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods To detect the expression of SHP-1 in the airway epithelium of COPD patients,CRISPR/Cas9 technology was used to construct SHP-1flox/flox transgenic mice,which were mated with airway epithelial Clara protein 10-cyclase recombinase and estrogen receptor fusion transgenic mice(CC10-CreER^(+/+)),and after intraperitoneal injection of tamoxifen,airway epithelial SHP-1 knockout mice were obtained(SHP-1^(max/fox) CC10-CreER^(+/+),SHP-1^(Δ/Δ)).

Objective To investigate the current status of the application of diagnostic and assessment tools for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) by respiratory physicians in China.Methods An on-line questionnaire was designed to address the common questions in COPD diagnosis and evaluation, and this survey was conducted through Wechat.Results A total of 3 204 valid questionnaires were collected. 71.7%of the physicians were from tertiary hospitals.

Protective effect of intervention with cannabinoid type-2 receptor agonist JWH133 on pulmonary fibrosis in mice

Objective JWH133,a cannabinoid type 2 receptor agonist,was tested for its ability to protect mice from bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis.Methods By using a random number generator,24 C57BL/6J male mice were randomly divided into the control group,model group,JWH133 intervention group,and JWH133+a cannabinoid type-2 receptor antagonist(AM630)inhibitor group,with 6 mice in each group.A mouse pulmonary fibrosis model was established by tracheal instillation of bleomycin(5 mg/kg).

Effect of obstructive sleep apnea on the severity of acute pulmonary thromboembolism

Objective To investigate the effect of obstructivesleep apnea (OSA) on the severity of acute pulmonarythromboembolism (PTE). Methods Clinical data of patientswith acute PTE and OSA who were admitted toAnzhen Hospital from January 2015 to December 2017were retrospectively analyzed in this study. The levelsof oxygen desaturation index (ODI),mean pulse oxygensaturation (MSO2),the lowest pulse oxygen saturation( LSaO2), oxygen saturation < 90% time ratio(Ts 90%), hemoglobin, hematocrit ( HCT ), bloodplatelet,mean platelet volume (MPV),platelet distributionwidth ( PDW),hypersensitive C-reactive protein(hsCRP),homocysteine ( HCY),prothrombin time,activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT),fibrinogen(FIB),D-dimer,fibrin degredation product (FDP),Btypenatriuretic peptide,cardiac troponin I ( cTnI),arterialpartial pressure of oxygen (PaO2),arterial partialpressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2) were compared betweenAHI≤15 /h group and AHI > 15 /h group. Differencesin the severity of PTE between the two groups werecompared;binary Logistic regression model was used toanalyze the risk factors of acute PTE severity.

Expression and clinical significance of CCL 18 in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease

Objective To explore the expression and clinical significance of chemokine ligand 18(CCL18)in Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid(BALF)of patients with connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease(CTD-ILD).Methods From January 2016 to June 2017,BALF of patients with rheumatoid arthritis-associated interstitial lung disease(RA-ILD group),patients with dermatomyositis-associated interstitial lung disease(DM-ILD group),and patients with primary Sj?gren syndrome-associated interstitial lung disease(pSS-ILD group)of Peking University People’s Hospital were collected.According to the prognosis of each group of patients during hospitalization,they were divided into the discharged and the died.Besides,30 patients without ILD served as a control group.Levels of CCL18 in BALF of all patients were tested by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Cells in BALF of RA-ILD group,DM-ILD group and pSS-ILD group were collected and analyzed by absolute different cell counts.
