The Memorial Service and Cremation Dharma Assembly of Master Chuanyin,Honorary President of the BAC,Held at Jingtu Yuan of Donglin Monastery in Mount Lu,Jiangxi Province

On March 10,2023,Master Chuanyin(传印)passed away at Donglin Monastery(东林寺)in Mount Lu(庐山),Jiangxi Province,aged 96.He was the former President and Honorary President of the Buddhist Association of China(BAC).As a well-known patriotic Buddhist leader and a close friend of the Communist Party of China(CPC),he was elected the member of the 11th National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC),the member of the Standing Committee and Deputy Director of the Commission for Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

Chinese Buddhist Delegation Attends the Celebration of the 18th United Nations Vesak Day in Thailand

On June 1-2,2023,28 members of the Chinese Buddhist delegation headed by Venerable Yanjue(演觉),President of the Buddhist Association of China(BAC),and Venerable Puzheng(普正),Deputy Secretary General of the BAC,as Secretary General of the delegation,attended the celebration of the 18th United Nations Vesak Day in Bangkok,Thailand.More than 800 Buddhist representatives.

The BAC and Related Chinese Monasteries Participated in the Launching Ceremony of the“Faxian Charity Project”

On the afternoon of December 27,2022,the launching ceremony of the“Faxian Charity Project(法显大愿慈善计划)”initiated by the Buddhist Association of China(BAC)was held at the Abhayagiri Monastery of Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka,in which the first batch of food packages would be donated to 50,000 impoverished families in Sri Lanka before the New Year.Attending were Abeywardena,Sri Lankan Speaker of Parliament.

President Yanjue and His Delegation Attend the 17th United Nations Day of Vesak Celebration 2022

On May 13,2022,at the invitation of the International Council for the Day of Vesak(ICDV)and the International Association of Buddhist Universities(IABU),a 14-member Chinese Buddhist delegation attended the 17th UN Day of Vesak Celebration held at the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok,Thailand via electronic media in Beijing and Yunnan Province.Members of the delegation included Venerable Yanjue(演觉).

The BAC Holds the 2022 Symposium on the Construction of the Humanistic Buddhism Thought On December 28,2022,the Buddhist Association of China(BAC)held the 2022 Symposium on the Construction of the Humanistic Buddhism(人间佛教)Thought.Organized by the Research Institute of Buddhist Culture of China and the BAC’s Research Base for Humanistic Buddhism,the symposium took place both online and offline,focusing on the theme of“Building the Theoretical Framework of Humanistic Buddhism in the New Era.”

“Huangbo Culture Benefiting China and Japan:The Exhibition of Chan Calligraphy and Painting Works by Master Yinyuan,His Teachers,Fellows and Disciples” Opened at the National Art Museum of China

Four hundred years have brought great changes to the world,but they have not altered the spirit of Master Yinyuan(隐元).Enormous contributions he made by spreading the Dharma and founding Huangbo(黄檗)Sect overseas;for countless years to come his spirit will continue to be carried forward.
