In recent years, silicon(Si)and germanium(Ge)materials have been considered as promising highperformance anode materials for lithium-ion batteries due to their high theoretical capacities. It is of great importance to design and synthesize micro/nanostructured Si and Ge materials. In this work,we demonstrated that Si,Ge and SiGe micro/nanowires can be continuously synthesized from their oxides precursors through molten salt electrodeposition. The electrochemical synthesis processes have been investigated systematically, and the deposited Si,Ge and SiGe micro/nanowires have been characterized and compared. The results show that the micro/nanostructured Si and Ge materials with tunable morphology can be facilely and continuously produced via molten salt electrodeposition. The electrodeposition process generally includes calcium oxide-assisted dissolution and electrodeposition processes, and the morphologies of the deposited Si and Ge products can be controlled by varying conditions.Si micro/nanowires,Si films,Ge micro/nanowires,and Ge particles can be continuously synthesized in a controlled manner. 展开更多

Titanium germanium intermetallics (TixGey)were directly prepared from titanium oxide (TiO2) and germanium oxide(GeO2) powders mixture by using an electrodeoxidation process. The electrochemical experiment was carried out in a molten fluxCaCl2-NaCl at 800℃ with a potential of 3.0 V. The results show that monolithic germanide Ti5Ge3 intermetallic can be directlyproduced from TiO2-GeO2 or CaTiO3-GeO2 precursors (both molar ratios are 5:3), and the obtained Ti5Ge3 powders exhibithomogenous particle structure. In addition, the phase composition of the final product can be dramatically affected by the initialmolar ratio of TiO2 to GeO2. The reaction mechanism of the electrodeoxidation process was discussed based on the experimentalresults. It is suggested that the electrodeoxidation process is an environmentally friendly method for the preparation of Ti-Geintermetallics. 展开更多

Supercapacitors(SCs) are high-power energy storage devices with ultra-fast charge/discharge properties.SCs using concentrated aqueous-based electrolytes can work at low temperatures due to their intrinsic properties, such as higher freezing point depression(FPD) and robustness. Besides the traditional organic-and aqueous-based(salt-in-water) electrolytes used in SCs, water-in-salt(WISE) sodium perchlorate electrolytes offer high FPD, non-flammability, and low-toxicity conditions, allowing the fabrication of safer, environmentally friendly, and more robust devices. For the first time, this work reports a comprehensive study regarding WISE system’s charge-storage capabilities and physicochemical properties under low-temperature conditions(T < 0 ℃) using mesoporous carbon-based electrodes. The effect of temperature reduction on the electrolyte viscosity and electrical properties was investigated using different techniques and the in-situ(or operando) Raman spectroscopy under dynamic polarization conditions. The cell voltage, equivalent series resistance, and specific capacitance were investigated as a function of the temperature. The cell voltage(U) increased ~ 50%, while the specific capacitance decreased ~20%when the temperature was reduced from 25 ℃ to -10 ℃. As a result, the maximum specific energy(E = CU^(2)/2) increased ~ 100%. Therefore, low-temperature WISEs are promising candidates to improve the energy-storage characteristics in SCs. 展开更多

It has been accomplished comparative survey of the structure, substructure and submicro porosity of coatings of fine metals with face-centered cubic lattice Au and Ag being condensed in both conditions of space flights of orbital stations and earth-based conditions. Urgency of such surveys are concerned with the necessity of settling the issues of creation of the advanced technologies for developing and recovery of different coatings-thermostatic, protective, optical etc. in space-based conditions. 展开更多
