We make a number of observations on Conway surreal number theory which may be useful, for further developments, in both mathematics and theoretical physics. In particular, we argue that the concepts of surreal numbers and matroids can be linked. Moreover, we established a relation between the Gonshor approach on surreal numbers and tensors. We also comment about the possibility to connect surreal numbers with supersymmetry. In addition, we comment about possible relation between surreal numbers and fractal theory. Finally, we argue that the surreal structure may provide a different mathematical tool in the understanding of singularities in both high energy physics and gravitation. 展开更多

A nonhomogeneous Markov chain is applied to the study of the air quality classification in Mexico City when the so-called criterion pollutants are used. We consider the indices associated with air quality using two regulations where different ways of classification are taken into account. Parameters of the model are the initial and transition probabilities of the chain. They are estimated under the Bayesian point of view through samples generated directly from the corresponding posterior distributions. Using the estimated parameters, the probability of having an air quality index in a given hour of the day is obtained. 展开更多

The set of these points and components is called the residual Julia set, denoted by , and is defined to be the subset of those points of the Julia set, chaotic set, which do not belong to the boundary of any component of the Fatou set (stable set). The points of are called buried points and the components of are called buried components. In this paper we extend some results related with the residual Julia set of transcendental meromorphic functions to functions which are meromorphic outside a compact countable set of essential singularities. Alpha Centauri System and Meteorites Origin

As a consequence, we a... We propose a mathematical model for determining the probability of meteorite origin, impacting the earth. Our method is based on axioms similar to both the complex networks and emergent gravity. As a consequence, we are able to derive a link between complex networks and Newton’s gravity law, and as a possible application of our model we discuss several aspects of the Bacubirito meteorite. In particular, we analyze the possibility that the origin of this meteorite may be alpha Centauri system. Moreover, we find that in order for the Bacubirito meteorite to come from alpha Cen and be injected into our Solar System, its velocity must be reduced one order of magnitude of its ejected scape velocity from alpha Cen. There are several ways how this could happened, for example through collision with the Oort cloud objects (located outside the boundary of our Solar System), and/or through collisions within the Solar meteorites belt (located between Mars and Jupiter). We also argue that it may be interesting to study the Bacubirito meteorite from the perspective of the recently discovered Oumuamua object. 展开更多

Mathematically, we argue that using the torsion concept one can combine the formalisms of division algebras and Poincaré conjecture. Physically, we show that both formalisms may be the underlying mathematical tools in special relativity and cosmology. Moreover, we explore the possibility that by using the concept of n-qubit system, such conjecture may allow generalization the Hopf maps. 展开更多

In this work, we make a number of proposals to explain how a world of (4 + 4)-dimensions can be useful for a better understanding of both dark matter and quantum gravity. The key idea is to look for some advantage of considering self-dual invariants in (4 + 4)-dimensions rather than in a separate context of (1 + 3)-dimensions or (3 + 1)-dimensions. In fact, we show that by considering the duality concept in (4 + 4)-dimensions we may provide an alternative meaning of a framework for loop quantum gravity. Moreover, considering the Dirac equation in (4 + 4)-dimensions for a particle without electric charge and mass, we show that when it is projected into the (1 + 3) and (3 + 1)-worlds may describe a system with electric charge and mass. We also discuss the relation between the three physical scenarios;(4 + 4)-world, black-holes and dark matter. 展开更多

Our basic mathematical tools are the dyadic rational number which is one of the key mathematical notions in surreal number theory. We argue that from the perspective of such surreal numbers, bosons and fermions, and therefore supersymmetry, are mere particular cases of a very much larger dyadic spin structure which include -spin (semionics), -spin and in general -spin, with m odd integer and n a positive natural number.
