Despite many intervention approaches to MA use disorder, the indicator of addiction severity is mainly limited to subjective craving score to drug-related cues, which is influenced by many factors such as social approval and self-masking. Aim The present study investigates whether self-reported craving for drug use in response to MA cues is a reliable indicator for addiction severity in MA users, and then tests the validity of the cue-induced attention bias test in addiction severity assessment. Methods Fifty-two male MA users completed the cueinduced craving test and attention bias task, and were required to report clinical characteristics of addiction severity. For the attention bias test, subjects were required to discriminate the letter superimposed onto MA userelated or neutral scenes. The reaction time delay during MA-use condition relative to neutral condition was used as an index of the attention bias. Results The results showed that 24 of the 52 MA users rated non-zero in cue-induced craving test, and they showed a significant attention bias to drug-related pictures. However, the other 28 users who rated zero in cue-induced craving evaluation showed a similar attention bias to drug-related cues. In addition, the attention bias to MA use-related cues was significantly and positively correlated with the clinical indexes of addiction severity, but the relationship was absent between subjective craving evaluation and the indexes of addiction severity. Conclusion These results suggest that attention bias to MA cues may be a more reliable indicator than experiential craving report, especially when subjective craving is measured in the compulsory rehabilitation centre.展开更多

However, there is increasing evidence to indicate that arousal may be more relevant at some stages of affective processing. The present study employed a combined priming and cue-target paradigm and examined event-related potentials (ERPs) in order to explore the effects of emotional conflict of arousal on attention allocation. The background context of arousal was manipulated (using photos of facial expressions) while subjects performed a cognitive task in which a central arrow cue indicated the location of a peripheric target square, and a response was made according to the direction of the square. There was no main effect between incongruent emotion and congruent emotion in the response time, which means the resolution of the emotional conflict facilitate the participant behavioral response. There was a main effect of different emotional states on ERP component. In the present study, incongruent arousal also triggered greater positive potential compared with congruent arousal.展开更多

文摘According to studies, neuroinflammation is increasingly being linked to the development of major depressive disorder(MDD).In response to inflammatory stimuli, brain microglia, which are immune cells, can change into reactive states.Because of this, microglia play an essentiall role in the early stages of neuroinflammation.Experiments have shown that microglia are able to detect infected or damaged cells, which then activates a cytotoxic response that further exacerbates the harm to brain cells. It has been proven that microglia are quite good at recognizing infections and damaged cells.Microglia,on the other hand, have been found to respond in a number of ways to injury and may even help regenerate damaged tissues.Chronic activation of microglia has been observed in persons with MDD.Deficits in neuroplasticity have been linked to depression, and recent studies show that this may be related to changes in microglia shape and function brought on by either excessive inflammatory activity or the natural aging process.Changing the phenotype of microglia by regulation of inflammatory pathways may be necessary for harnessing neuroinflammation in MDD.Recent research has linked several microglial phenotypes to individual metabolic pathways, showing that energy metabolism plays a pivotal role in coordinating microglial activity. In this study,we investigate whether or not traditional pro-inflammatory,anti-inflammatory,and metabolic pathways in microglia can be used as novel therapeutic routes for regulating neuroinflammation in brain diseases. The focus of this essay is on MDD,although we will also discuss related mental health issues.
文摘At this stage, with the continuous improvement of the quality of life and education, students at all levels of education are facing great pressure of learning and competition in life.If these pressures are not relieved orsolved in a timely manner, the lighter they affect daily life and learning, the more serious they cause mental health problems such as depression and anxiety, and even the horrible idea of ending their lives prematurely. Therefore, educators must pay great attention to students'learning status and mental health, and if students are found to have bad learning attitudes, they must promptly understand the causes of their balearning attitudes and,on that basis, develop and implement effective psychologicalguidance and mental health education programs to alleviate students'learning stress and mental health problems. In social psychology, students'behavior is the main influencing factor of learning mental health, behavior and mental health have a close relationship, through student behavior patterns and changes in learning attitudes can understand the psychological characteristics and health status of students. Therefore, many educators analyze the causes of students'poor learning attitudes based on socialpsychology, and develop and implement effective mental health education countermeasures to improve and transform poor learning attitudes.

文摘Historically,"big pharma"did most central nervous system drug discovery R&D in-house.Yet,in modern times their"management reductionism"resulted in disappointing pipelines and pharma resided to(late)development, regulatory approval, and marketing(Thong,2015).This had significant consequences for financing and executing research, resulting in a larger role for funding by governments and patient-organizations and a shift of research to academia(Mazzucato,2013).

文摘Communication could be an essential part of couples in their daily life.Based on Monitor and Acceptance Theory(MAT),the present study explored the mediating role of communication in the relationship between mindfulness and relationship quality among college-student couples. The research examined the dynamic relationship of monitoring and acceptance to relationship satisfaction in the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model(APIM),and the mediating effect of positive or negative communications in these relationships.A total of 96 pairs of couples in the universities in Nanjing,China participated in the research.Momentary measurements were used to measure the momentary levels of their monitor,acceptance,positive/negative communication, and relationship satisfaction.A Hierarchical Linear Model(HLM)was used to deal with the APIM.Results showed that the women’s monitor facet of state mindfulness negatively predicted men’s relationship satisfaction through women’s negative communication, and the women’s acceptance facet of state mindfulness positively predicted women’s relationship satisfaction through women’s positive and negative communication at the within-person level. The study highlights the importance of cooperation in monitoring and acceptance for couples to own and hold high levels of relationship satisfaction.
文摘Objectives:Prevalence rates of overweight and obesity are dramatically ever-increasing across the world. Therefore, this study was to evaluate the effect of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy(MBCT)on weight loss, hypertension, and attentional bias towards food cues in a group of women affected with this condition. Methods:A total of 45 participants were selected out of women referring to the Nutrition and Diet Therapy Clinic affiliated to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences,Iran, and then randomized into three groups of 15.The first experimental group was subjected to an energy-restricted diet therapy together with MBCT during 8 sessions, the second group took the diet therapy alone, and the third group received no intervention.Body mass index(BMI),hypertension, and attentional bias towards food cues were correspondingly evaluated before,at the end,and four weeks after the completion of the interventions. Results:The results of this study revealed that MBCT,along with diet therapy, had been significantly more effective in weight loss, decrease in BMI,lower systolic blood pressure(SBP),and attentional bias towards food cues compared with the diet therapy alone(P≤0.01).MBCT had no significant impact on the decline in diastolic blood pressure(DBP)in participants in the follow-up phase. Conclusion:This study demonstrated that MBCT along with the conventional diet therapy was more effective in weight loss, decrease in BMI,hypertension control,as well as attentional bias towards food cues than the diet therapy alone.

文摘Background Methamphetamine (MA) is one of the most commonly abused illicit psychostimulant drugs and MA use disorder constitutes a universal health concern across the world. Conclusion These results suggest that attention bias to MA cues may be a more reliable indicator than experiential craving report, especially when subjective craving is measured in the compulsory rehabilitation centre.

文摘Cognitive rehabilitation is a potential and promising treatment for cognitive impairment in Parkinson's disease (PD) that has shown efficacy in diverse studies. In addition, some few studies have found brain changes after cognitive rehabilitation in PD, which supports the existence of brain plasticity associated to cognitive training in a degen- erative disease.
文摘To explore the impact of teacher training on the professional identity of primary and secondary school mental health teachers, this study conducted a half-month professional development training program to 54 primary and secondary school mental health teachers, and performed measurement on the professional identity of the teachers in the experimental group and the control group with “Teachers’ Professional Identity Questionnaire”. The result shows that after the training there is a significant improvement in the professional identity of the teachers in the experimental group, and the teachers’ scores on the four dimensions of profession identity: the sense of role, the professional behavioral tendency, the occupational values, and the sense of belonging, all increased significantly. This indicates that the curriculum intervention for the primary and secondary school mental health teachers could effectively improve the teachers’ professional identity.
文摘Dear Editor,We have read the article entitled"Improve nursing in evidencebased practice:How Chinese nurses'read and comprehend scientific literature"by Huang et al.[1]published in the International Journal of Nursing Sciences. We would like to appreciate and strongly support the authors'efforts in pointing out the importance of Evidence-Based Practice(EBP)in nursing.Nurses are required to adhere to accepted standards of practice and professional performance. As a professional, nurses need to use evidence-based intervention and the integration of research findings into practice[2,3].EBP is an approach to nursing care that is very important for improving patient outcomes[4],however,the previous studies have been suggested that health professional does not always use the evidence to guide their practice[1,5-7].Huang et al.state that only 3.5%of nurses read literature regularly on a daily,9.8%on a weekly,9.3%on a monthly and 66%only read when needed[1].Further,O'lynn et al.also state that"in terms of actual use of research findings in practice, small range of nurses(27.1%)reported using research"often"or"very often"in the past year;whereas 30.0%reported using research"rarely"or"never"in the past year"[6].
文摘Attention allocation research frequently focuses on the valence of emotion. In the present study, incongruent arousal also triggered greater positive potential compared with congruent arousal.
文摘The study aims to examine the role of mastery and self-esteem as a potential mediator of the relationship of meaning in life and well-being among older Chinese stroke survivors. A cross-sectional study was conducted in 214 community-dwelling older stroke survivors (128 men and 86 women), ranging from 60 years to 88 years old. The meaning in life, mastery, self-esteem and subjective well-being were measured. The results indicated that: 1) The meaning in life and subjective well-being of stroke survivors were significantly positive correlated;2) Mastery and self-esteem played partial mediating roles between existential vacuum and subjective well-being;Self-esteem played full a mediating role between suffer acceptance and subjective well-being;Mastery played a full mediating role between life control and subjective well-being;Mastery played a partial mediating role between death acceptance and subjective well-being;Self-esteem also played a partial mediating role between mastery and subjective well-being.
