The reliability, user friendliness, and usability ar... This paper expresses the importance of the use of strategic energy design tool in building design in China. The features of this kind of tool have been illustrated. The reliability, user friendliness, and usability are the most important characteristic of the early design software. This paper introduces an integrated energy design tool - LT Europe, which is widely used in the UK architectural practice and European. The climate data for Beijing has been produced from Meteonorm and integrated into LT Europe. A case study has been performed and the comparisons have been made by applying the Chinese old and new building energy regulations. It has been demonstrated that LT Europe software can be used for Chinese building energy design at the early stage by creating the local proper climate data. 展开更多

Bio-chemical process for nitrogen and phosphorus removal by draining out anaerobic rich phosphate supernatant in ERP-SBR system

The method of fixed phosphate coming from anaerobic reactor by the auxiliary chemical process is applied in External Recycle Process-SBR (ERP-SBR). This process changes the model of draining out activated sludge in the traditional biological phosphorus removal system to discharge anaerobic poly-phosphate supernatant. This process eliminates the contradiction of control for Solid Removal Time (SRT) in process of biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal. It can obtain high removal efficiency of nitrogen(N) and phosphorus(P) in longer SRT. Experiment results show that: when SRT=50 ~ 80 d, TN=28.6~ 58.3 mg/L, TP=5.5~ 13.5 mg/L in influent, COD≤ 34mg/L, TN≤ 6.02 mg/L, PO4^3-≤0.23 mg/L in effluent. The amount of lime is only 5% of traditional methods. The phosphorus content in the chemical sludge is 12 %~15 % and the recycle of phosphorus can be realized easily. 展开更多

The results of energy efficient residential building design for the different climate zones of China by implementing an integrated energy model have been presented. Optimum measures of building design for typical Chinese residential buildings are introduced, with the objective of minimizingannual energy consumption for those buildings and improving thermal comfort. Problems of and main limiting factors to Chinese western eco-environment are analyzea firstly and principles of integrating water pollution control with water resources planning and management, with ecological construction and with economic development planning and setting control priorities according to local conditions are proposed. Following strategies for water pollution control are suggested: 1) a master plan for western area need to be established as soon as possible; 2) total emission control should be regarded as the basic policy and measures such as clean production, charging and subsidy need to be implemented; 3) point sources pollution control should be considered the main task in short term and centralized wasteweter treatment plants by using sustainable processes should be constructed primarily for large and medium-size cities with heavier pollution; 4) sound institutional and regulation systems need to be established to create an enabling environment; 5) multiple investment system should be established; and 6) studies of pragmatic theories and methodologies for water pollution control and cost-effective technologies appropriate to western area, and training of local technicians need to be enhanced as well. 展开更多
