The ruthenium dye was immobilized in N, N-methylene bisacrylamide(MBBA) polymer by physically trapping while MBBA was covalently crosslinked on the glass micro-beads by NaHSO3-O2-MnSO4 initiator system. The lock-in amplifyication technology was used for the detection of their sensing properties. The influences of indicator concentration, glass micro-beads diameter, post polymerization time, concentration and reaction time of glutaraldehyde on the properties of sensing materials were studied. To optimize the influencing factors to the sensing materials, the indicator concentration of 0.7 g/L, glass micro-beads diameter of 0.3 mm, post polymerization time of 5 h were achieved. The immobilization stability of ruthenium dye and the performance of the sensing materials were improved by the new polymerization system. An absolute detection limit of 3×10-6 (V/V) and the response time of 10 s were obtained. This kind of sensing materials has good stability and their life time is 2 years.展开更多

Therefore, a new type of optical fiber sensor was developed in the laboratory - optical fiber grating sensor for force measurement of anchor cable (OFBFMAC). No similar report about this kind of sensor has been found up to now in China and other countries. This sensor is proved to be an effective way of monitoring in processes of anchor cable installation, cable cutting, cable force regulation, etc, with the accurate and repeatable measuring results. Its successful application in the tie bar cable force safety monitoring for Wuhan Qingchuan bridge is a new exploration of optical fiber grating sensing technology in bridge tie bar monitoring system.展开更多

Glucose can be oxidized by oxygen when glucose oxidase are used as the catalyst, therefore, the concentration of glucose can be measured by detecting the consumption of oxygen. For the detection of oxygen concentration, the ruthenium(Ⅱ) complex, Ru(bpy)3Cl2, were used as the fluorescence indicator and its fluorescence lifetime were detected by lock-in technology. The detecting range of the sensor is 50 - 500 mg/dl and its response time is 30 seconds, showing that this kind of sensors is possible to be used in clinical diagnosis and detection.展开更多

The assembled films were characterized by UV-vis spectrophotometer, X-ray diffractometry, nano profilometer and scanning electron microscopy. The results demonstrate that the layer-by-layer assembling technique can be used to make the nanoscaled films from polyelectrolytes and thicker composite films from suitable precursor materials. Both organic molecule/colloidal CdS films and PEI/MWCNT films with thickness of hundreds of nanometers were obtained. For the organic molecule/colloidal CdS films, a reasonable explanation for the result is that both the organic molecules and the CdS particles aggregate in the films. For the PEI/MWCNT films, obviously, it is the MWCNT that makes the great contribution to the film thickness.展开更多
