Peanut allergy is majorly related to severe food induced allergic reactions.Several food including cow's milk,hen's eggs,soy,wheat,peanuts,tree nuts(walnuts,hazelnuts,almonds,cashews,pecans and pistachios),fish and shellfish are responsible for more than 90%of food allergies.Here,we provide promising insights using a large-scale data-driven analysis,comparing the mechanistic feature and biological relevance of different ingredients presents in peanuts,tree nuts(walnuts,almonds,cashews,pecans and pistachios)and soybean.Additionally,we have analysed the chemical compositions of peanuts in different processed form raw,boiled and dry-roasted.Using the data-driven approach we are able to generate new hypotheses to explain why nuclear receptors like the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors(PPARs)and its isoform and their interaction with dietary lipids may have significant effect on allergic response.The results obtained from this study will direct future experimeantal and clinical studies to understand the role of dietary lipids and PPARisoforms to exert pro-inflammatory or anti-inflammatory functions on cells of the innate immunity and influence antigen presentation to the cells of the adaptive immunity. 展开更多

Extensive research in recent years into the use of various fiber sources in poultry nutrition has led to the perception that dietary fiber is more than a simple diet diluent.Several studies showed that the feeding of insoluble fiber sources such as oat hulls,sunflower hulls or wood shavings may affect digestive physiology and function improving chickens health and growth performance.In this context,the effect of lignocellulose as an insoluble dietary fiber source is increasingly being investigated.Lignocellulose is a component of plant cell walls and consists mainly of the insoluble carbohydrate polymers cellulose and hemicelluloses as well as the phenolic polymer lignin.Lignocellulose is chemically and physicochemically different from other insoluble fiber sources and thus possibly has different effects on poultry compared to traditional fiber sources.Several studies investigated the effect of dietary lignocellulose on growth performance,nutrient digestibility,gastrointestinal tract development and intestinal microbiota in broilers and laying hens.Studies differed in terms of feed formulation and lignocellulose inclusion level as well as products of different suppliers were used.The results obtained are inconsistent;beneficial,indifferent or detrimental effects of feeding lignocellulose were observed,so that a final assessment of lignocellulose as a“novel”insoluble fiber source is difficult.This review article summarizes the results of studies in connection with the feeding of lignocellulose to poultry,compares them with those that have used other insoluble fiber sources and illuminates the possible mechanisms of action. 展开更多

Since the first case of acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS)was detected in the United States in 1981,this disease has spread to every corner of the world.Despite the annual incidence of AIDS showing a slight decline since 1997,it remains a major cause of infectious disease-related death worldwide.Unlike global epidemiological trends,the number of notified AIDS cases has increased in recent years in China[1].Moreover,among the class B notifiable infectious diseases,AIDS was responsible for the highest mortality rate from 2008 to 2019,still failing to be identified as a vaccine-preventable disease[1].Thus,to provide more unambiguous and quantitative direction for the effective formulation of preventive planning strategies and for the reasonable allocation of limited resources,a forecasting model with high precision and accuracy to understand the future epidemic behaviors of AIDS is required.During the model-building process,accurate statistics are vital to ensure the forecasting accuracy of the model. 展开更多

Pulmonary hypertension due to left heart disease(PH-LHD) is regarded as the most prevalent form of pulmonary hypertension(PH). Indeed, PH is an independent risk factor and predicts adverse prognosis for patients with left heart disease(LHD). Clinically, there are no drugs or treatments that directly address PH-LHD, and treatment of LHD alone will not also ameliorate PH. To target the underlying physiopathological alterations of PH-LHD and to develop novel therapeutic approaches for this population, animal models that simulate the pathophysiology of PH-LHD are required. There are several available models for PH-LHD that have been successfully employed in rodents or large animals by artificially provoking an elevated pressure load on the left heart, which by transduction elicits an escalated pressure in pulmonary artery. In addition, metabolic derangement combined with aortic banding or vascular endothelial growth factor receptor antagonist is also currently applied to reproduce the phenotype of PH-LHD. As of today, none of the animal models exactly recapitulates the condition of patients with PH-LHD. Nevertheless, the selection of an appropriate animal model is essential in basic and translational studies of PH-LHD. Therefore, this review will summarize the characteristics of each PH-LHD animal model and discuss the advantages and limitations of the different models. 展开更多

Creating a single surfactant that is open to manipulation,while maintaining its surface activity,robustness,and compatibility,to expand the landscape of surfactant-dependent assays is extremely challenging.We report an oxidation-responsive precursor with thioethers and multiple 1,2-diols for creating a variety of functional surfactants from one parent surfactant.Using these multifunctional surfactants,we stabilize microfluidics-generated aqueous droplets.The droplets encapsulate different components and immerse in a bioinert oil with distinct interfaces where an azide-bearing surfactant allow fishing of biomolecules from the droplets,aldehyde-bearing surfactant allow fabrication of microcapsules,and hydroxyl-bearing surfactants,with/without oxidized thioethers,allow monitoring of single-cell gene expression.Creating multifunctional surfactants poses opportunities for broad applications,including adsorption,bioanalytics,catalysis,formulations,coatings,and programmable subset of emulsions. 展开更多

Determination of surface structure and the depth profile of silica glass by infrared spectroscopy

The surface structure and properties are different from those of the bulk, depending on the substrate materials and deposition condition, and playing an important role in precise optical components. The conventional spectroscopic methods to monitor the surface structure are restricted only in several layers of molecules. It is known that the penetration depth of the incident light increases with its wavelength and decreases with the angle of incidence. Thus infrared spectroscopy provides a powerful means for determination of surface structure and the depth profile up to micrometers. By recording the reflection spectra at different angles of incidence, the surface structure and its depth profile can be monitored successively. Further, the incident field has the subcomponents parallel and perpendicular to the surface, which excite the transverse and longitudinal optic modes, respectively. Change of the polarization direction of the incident light provides a practical function to study anisotropic property of the surface and the interaction between the transverse and longitudinal optic modes. In this work, infrared spectrophotometer was applied to investigate the depth profile in microstructure of silica glass. Combining with the glass fiber system, this technique can be used for in-situ control of the deposition process. In comparing with ellipsometry, this method reveals both structural and constitutional information. 展开更多

Psychiatric comorbidities in cancer survivors across tumor subtypes:A systematic review

BACKGROUND Psychiatric disorders are common but underdiagnosed in cancer survivors.Research suggests that tumor type has an effect on the prevalence of clinically relevant depression,anxiety,comorbid anxiety-depression and posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD).AIM To identify studies that examined the prevalence of clinically relevant levels of depression,anxiety,comorbid anxiety-depression and PTSD for patients with one or more tumor sites and compare those prevalences between cancer subtypes.METHODS Four databases(PubMed,PsycInfo,PubPsych and the Cochrane Database)were searched and resulted in a total of 2387 articles to be screened.To be included,a study must have investigated cancer-free and posttreatment survivors using tools to assess clinically relevant levels of the listed psychiatric comorbidities.All articles were screened by two authors with a third author reviewing debated articles.RESULTS Twenty-six studies on ten different tumor types fulfilled all inclusion criteria and were included in the review.The studies showed heterogeneity regarding the study characteristics,number of participants,time since diagnosis,and assessment tools.Generally,all four comorbidities show higher prevalences in cancer survivors than the general population.Brain tumor survivors were reported to have a relatively high prevalence of both depression and anxiety.Studies with melanoma survivors reported high prevalences of all four psychiatric comorbidities.Regarding comorbidities,a wide range in prevalence existed across the tumor types.Within one cancer site,the prevalence also varied considerably among the studies.CONCLUSION Psychiatric comorbidities are more frequent in cancer survivors than in the general population,as reflected by the prevalence of depression,anxiety,comorbid anxiety-depression and PTSD across all tumor subtypes.Developing generalized screening tools that examine psychological distress in cancer survivors up to at least ten years after diagnosis could help to understand and address the psychological burden of cancer survivors. 展开更多

Performance evaluation of operational atmospheric correction algorithms over the East China Seas

To acquire high-quality operational data products for Chinese in-orbit and scheduled ocean color sensors, the performances of two operational atmospheric correction(AC) algorithms(ESA MEGS 7.4.1 and NASA Sea DAS 6.1) were evaluated over the East China Seas(ECS) using MERIS data. The spectral remote sensing reflectance R_(rs)(λ), aerosol optical thickness(AOT), and ?ngstr?m exponent(α) retrieved using the two algorithms were validated using in situ measurements obtained between May 2002 and October 2009. Match-ups of R_(rs), AOT, and α between the in situ and MERIS data were obtained through strict exclusion criteria. Statistical analysis of R_(rs)(λ) showed a mean percentage difference(MPD) of 9%–13% in the 490–560 nm spectral range, and significant overestimation was observed at 413 nm(MPD>72%). The AOTs were overestimated(MPD>32%), and although the ESA algorithm outperformed the NASA algorithm in the blue-green bands, the situation was reversed in the red-near-infrared bands. The value of α was obviously underestimated by the ESA algorithm(MPD=41%) but not by the NASA algorithm(MPD=35%). To clarify why the NASA algorithm performed better in the retrieval of α, scatter plots of the α single scattering albedo(SSA) density were prepared. These α-SSA density scatter plots showed that the applicability of the aerosol models used by the NASA algorithm over the ECS is better than that used by the ESA algorithm, although neither aerosol model is suitable for the ECS region. The results of this study provide a reference to both data users and data agencies regarding the use of operational data products and the investigation into the improvement of current AC schemes over the ECS. 展开更多

Electronic charge of molecules can move on time scales when the nuclei stand practically still,from few hundreds of attoseconds to few femtoseconds.This ultrafast process is called“charge migration”.A typical consequence is rapid change of electronic dipole,which points to the center of charge.Corresponding linear(one-dimensional,1D)and planar(2D)dipolar motions have already been well documented.Here we construct the first case of charge migration which causes chiral 3D dipolar motion,specifically along a helix about oriented iodo-acetylene(HCCI).Quantum dynamics simulations show that this can be induced by well-designed laser pulses. 展开更多

压力和温度是利用岩石学研究地质过程的核心参数。传统的计算岩石温压条件的方法常要求矿物间达到化学平衡,如相平衡和矿物化学温压计。但是,自然界一些岩石中的矿物组合不一定能达到平衡。基于矿物弹性开发的地质压力计则不受这一条件... 压力和温度是利用岩石学研究地质过程的核心参数。传统的计算岩石温压条件的方法常要求矿物间达到化学平衡,如相平衡和矿物化学温压计。但是,自然界一些岩石中的矿物组合不一定能达到平衡。基于矿物弹性开发的地质压力计则不受这一条件的影响,它的原理是利用矿物包裹体中保存的残余应力来恢复其被捕获时的压力条件。这种方法能简单快速地获取数据,以实现对温度压力的限定。目前,最常使用石榴子石中的石英包裹体及其弹性地质压力计来确定包裹体的压力。弹性地质压力计的应用与其它常规方法不同之处,在于如何选择包裹体和弹性模型用以计算捕获时的压力条件。准确应用弹性地质压力计的重点在于样品制备、拉曼光谱测量、拉曼光谱处理和弹性模型的建立与选择。同时,本文编制了计算与应用更为便捷的Excel计算表格,将测量石英包裹体的特征拉曼峰峰位直接输入Excel计算表格中即可计算出被捕获时的压力条件。以大别-苏鲁造山带中烟台郭城地区榴辉岩为例,使用弹性地质压力计获得了石榴子石生长的压力史,且与传统地质温压计的结果相对一致。本文提供的方法将为进一步限定相关地质过程中岩石压力记录和变化过程提供新的路径。 展开更多
