In response to the momentous changes of a scale unseen in a century, it is necessary to have the multilateral system of global governance based on the Charter of the United Nations while building the human community with a shared future. From this multilateral perspective, the equal and independent sovereign nations shall be obligated to keep peaceful coexistence with non-intervention in domestic affairs, to have the peaceful settlement of international disputes, and the shared universal security by international cooperation. It is particularly important to promote win-win cooperation in regard to economic and trade relations and in favor of the developing and least developed countries on a multilateral basis. The inclusiveness shall be taken for the coexistence of civilizations to holistically protect human rights and to allow each country to decide its domestic implementation. It shall be consolidated under the United Nations’ coordination to protect our earth for sustainable development. Being different from contemporary multilateralism of international law construed by the theory with Chinese characteristics, the division of the so-called’effective’and’selective’multilateralism is not consistent with contemporary international law.展开更多
