Effect of droplet characteristics on liquid-phase distribution in spray zone of internal mixing air-mist nozzle

In continuous casting production,droplet characteristics are important parameters for evaluating the nozzle atomization quality,and have a significant impact on the secondary cooling effect and the slab quality.In order to study the behavior of atomized droplets after reaching the slab surface and to optimize the spray cooling effect,the influence of droplet diameter and droplet velocity on the migration behavior of droplets in the secondary cooling zone was analyzed by FLUENT software.Results show that the droplets in the spray zone and on the slab surface are mainly concentrated in the center,thus,the liquid volume fraction in the center is higher than that of either side.As the droplet diameter increases,the region of high liquid volume fraction on the slab surface becomes wider,and the liquid phase distribution in the slab width direction becomes uneven.Although increasing the droplet velocity at the nozzle exit has little effect on droplet diffusion in the spray zone,the distribution becomes more uneven due to more liquid reaches the slab surface per unit time.A prediction formula of the maximum water flow rate on the slab surface for specific droplet characteristics was proposed based on dimensionless analysis and validated by simulated data.A nozzle spacing of 210 mm was recommended under the working conditions in this study,which ensures effective coverage of the spray water over the slab surface and enhances the distribution uniformity of water flow rate in the transverse direction. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Gastric cancer(GC)is a common malignant tumor of the digestive system.Disulfidptosis is a new programmed cell death mechanism,although its specific mechanism in GC is incompletely understood.AIM In this study,we used bioinformatics analysis to explore a disulfidptosis-based predictive model related to GC prognosis and to identify potential therapeutic targets and sensitive drugs for GC.METHODS We extracted GC-related data from The Cancer Genome Atlas and Gene Expression Omnibus databases.R software(version 4.2.1)was used for correlation analysis.RESULTS Through the above analysis,we found that the disulfidptosis related gene may be related to the prognosis of GC.Six genes,namely,PLS3,GRP,APOD,SGCE,COL8A1,and VAMP7,were found to constitute a predictive model for GC prognosis.APOD is a potential therapeutic target for treating GC.Bosutinib and other drugs are sensitive for the treatment of GC.CONCLUSION The results of this study indicate that disulfidptosis is related to the prognosis and treatment of GC,while APOD represents a potential therapeutic target for GC. 展开更多

In the context of reactive adsorption desulfurization,the development of an efficient Ni/ZnO desulfurizer has attracted increasing attention.In the work reported here,a novel Ni/Mn-ZnO composite nanowire desulfurizer is designed on the basis of the catalytic theory of semiconductor metal oxides and the characteristics of one-dimensional nanomaterials.X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,N_(2) adsorption-desorption,and X-ray photoemission spectroscopy demonstrate that Mn doping changes the crystal structure and morphology of the Ni/ZnO desulfurizer,increases the number of quasi-free electrons in the ZnO,and promotes H_(2)S adsorption.The Ni/Mn-ZnO composite nanowire desulfurizer exhibits good desulfurization performance when used with gasoline as the raw material. 展开更多

This paper reviews recent developments in ADP along with RL and ... Reinforcement learning(RL) has roots in dynamic programming and it is called adaptive/approximate dynamic programming(ADP) within the control community. This paper reviews recent developments in ADP along with RL and its applications to various advanced control fields. First, the background of the development of ADP is described, emphasizing the significance of regulation and tracking control problems. Some effective offline and online algorithms for ADP/adaptive critic control are displayed, where the main results towards discrete-time systems and continuous-time systems are surveyed, respectively.Then, the research progress on adaptive critic control based on the event-triggered framework and under uncertain environment is discussed, respectively, where event-based design, robust stabilization, and game design are reviewed. Moreover, the extensions of ADP for addressing control problems under complex environment attract enormous attention. The ADP architecture is revisited under the perspective of data-driven and RL frameworks,showing how they promote ADP formulation significantly.Finally, several typical control applications with respect to RL and ADP are summarized, particularly in the fields of wastewater treatment processes and power systems, followed by some general prospects for future research. Overall, the comprehensive survey on ADP and RL for advanced control applications has d emonstrated its remarkable potential within the artificial intelligence era. Ethane chemical looping oxidative dehydrogenation(CL-ODH)to ethylene is a new technology for ethylene preparation.Fe_(2)O_(3)/MgO oxygen carrier was prepared using the co-precipitation method.The influence of added NiO and its different loadings on Fe_(2)O_(3)/MgO were investigated.Then,a series of oxygen carriers were applied in the CL-ODH of the ethane cycle system.Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET),X-ray diffractometry(XRD),X-ray photoelection spectroscopy(XPS),and H2-temperature programmed reduction(TPR)were used to characterize the physicochemical properties of these oxygen carriers.It was confirmed that an interaction between NiO and Fe_(2)O_(3) occurred based on the XPS and H2-TPR results.Based on the CL-ODH activity performance tests conducted in a fixed-bed reactor,it was revealed that ethylene selectivity was significantly improved after NiO addition.Fe_(2)O_(3)-10%NiO/MgO showed the best activity performance with 93%ethane conversion and 50%ethylene selectivity at a reaction temperature of 650℃,atmospheric pressure,and space velocity of 7500 mL/(g·h). 展开更多

A series of Lewis-acid deep eutectic solvents (DESs) were synthesized by stirring phosphoric acid and zincchloride as raw materials at 80℃ to form H_(3)PO_(4)/nZnCl_(2) (n = 0.1, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1). The DESs were characterized byFourier transform infrared spectrophotometry (FT-IR), thermogravimetry/differential thermogravimetry (TG/DTG), andelectron spray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). The DESs were used as both extractants and catalysts to removedibenzothiophene from fuels via oxidative desulfurization (ODS). Experiments were performed to investigated the influenceof factors such as composition of DES, temperature, oxidant dosage (molar ratio of O:S), DES dosage (volume ratio ofDES:oil), and number of cycles on desulfurization rate. The results indicated that the removal rate of dibenzothiophene (DBT)was affected by the Lewis acidic DESs, with that of H_(3)PO_(4)/0.25∙ZnCl_(2) reaching 96.4% under optimal conditions (Voil=5 mL,VDES=1 mL, an oxidant dosage of 6, T=50 ℃). After six cycles, the desulfurization rate of H_(3)PO_(4)/0.25∙ZnCl_(2) remained above94.1%. The apparent activation energy of dibenzothiophene (DBT) removal reaction was determined by a pseudo-first orderkinetic equation according to the Arrhenius equation to be 32.34 kJ/mol, as estimated. Magnetic field and microorganisms are important factors influencing the stress corrosion cracking(SCC)of buried oil and gas pipelines. Once SCC occurs in buried pipelines, it will cause serious hazards to the soil environment. The SCC behavior of X80 pipeline steel under the magnetic field and sulfate-reducing bacteria(SRB) environment was investigated by immersion tests, electrochemical tests, and slow strain rate tensile(SSRT) tests. The results showed that the corrosion and SCC sensitivity of X80 steel decreased with increasing the magnetic field strength in the sterile environment. The SCC sensitivity was higher in the biotic environment inoculated with SRB, but it also decreased with increasing magnetic field strength, which was due to the magnetic field reduces microbial activity and promotes the formation of dense film layer. This work provided theoretical guidance on the prevention of SCC in pipeline steel under magnetic field and SRB coexistence. 展开更多

The charge distribution on Ni-Mo-S active sites can affect hydrodenitrogenation(HDN)activity.In this study,a series of model Ni-Mo-S were developed with various charge distributions.For comparison,the charge distribution effects on quinoline HDN were studied.The results show that a lack of electrons and extra protons can both lower the orbital eigenvalue of the Ni-Mo-S,leading to stronger adsorption of nitrogen-containing compounds and inhibition of ammonia desorption.Electron deficiency will improve the generation of active hydrogen on the active sites but inhibit hydrogen transfer to the nitrogen compounds;extra protons can provide H^(+)to the nitrogen compounds,which will flexibly transfer between the nitrogen compound and active sites,thus improving the cleavage of the C-N bond. 展开更多

A side-chain liquid crystalline ionomer(SLCI) was synthesized by grafting copolymerization of 4-(4-ethoxybenzoyloxy)-4'-allyloxybiphenyl and N-allyl-pyridium bromide on polymethylhydrosiloxane. The SLCI was blended with polypropylene(PP) and polybutylene terephthalate(PBT) by melt mixing. The thermal behavior, liquid crystalline properties, morphological structure, and mechanical properties of the blends were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), polarizing optical microscopy(POM), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and tensile measurement. When a proper amount of SLCI was added, fine configurations were formed in the PBT/PP/SLCI blend system, and the mechanical properties were improved due to improved adhesion at the interface. When excess SLCI was added, an inhomogeneous structure resulted, which caused the mechanical properties to deteriorate. 展开更多

The Ni/ZnO desulfurization catalyst has been highly valued for its high desulfurization rate and low octane value loss. However, during the process of desulfurization, ZnO is prone to deactivation and the active component Ni is susceptible to agglomeration, which can affect the performance of the catalyst. In order to solve these problems, the modification of ZnO support has been extensively studied. The granular, short rod-shaped and nanowire-structured ZnO were synthesized by controlling the concentration of NaOH, and the desulfurization catalyst was prepared with ZnO serving as the support after loading of metallic Ni. The catalyst was characterized by X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption-desorption, SEM, TEM and other analytical methods. The desulfurization performance of the catalyst was investigated with n-heptane - thiophene used as model compounds. Test results showed that the morphology and size of ZnO support has great influence on the desulfurization performance of the catalyst. Desulfurization catalyst prepared with nanowire-structured ZnO support has the best desulfurization performance, with its desulfurization rate reaching 98.2%. The result was achieved mainly due to the nanowire structure of ZnO support which could effectively restrain the agglomeration of metallic Ni on the surface and reduce the particle size of the active component of metallic Ni so as to improve its dispersion on the surface of the support. In addition, the nanowire structure can reduce the diffusion resistance of thiophene in the reaction process and provide a channel conducive to sulfur transfer and diffusion, which makes it perform well in the desulphurization reaction process and regeneration process. 展开更多

AIM:To estimate the prevalence of diabetic macular edema(DME) and clinically significant macular edema(CSME),and to assess their risk factors in a population with type 2 diabetic mellitus(T2DM) located in northeast China.METHODS:Patients were included from the Fushun Diabetic Retinopathy Cohort Study(FS-DIRECT),a community-based study conducted in northeast China.The presence of DME and CSME was determined by the Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study(ETDRS) retinopathy scale of fundus photographs.The age-standardized prevalence of DME and CSME was estimated.The association between DME/CSME and risk factors was analyzed in a multivariate Logistical analysis.RESULTS:A total of 292(15.4%) and 166(8.8%) patients were diagnosed as DME and CSME,yielding the age and sex standardized prevalence of 13.5%(95%CI:11.9%-15.0%),and 7.1%(95%CI:5.9%-8.3%),respectively.Female patients had a higher prevalence of DME compared to their male counterparts(15.7% vs 10.4%,P=0.03).Multivariable Logistic regression analysis showed that younger age,insulin use,proteinuria,longer duration of diabetes,and higher glycosylated hemoglobin A1c,were associated with the prevalence of DME and CSME.Patients with higher fasting plasma glucose,systolic blood pressure,and blood urea nitrogen were also found to be associated with DME.CONCLUSION:Early fundus screening in diabetic patients is invaluable and given the relatively high prevalence of DME and CSME in this study cohort,those with a high risk of sight threatening maculopathy would invariably benefit from earlier detection. 展开更多

The compact implicit integration factor (cIIF) method is an efficient time discretization scheme for stiff nonlinear diffusion equations in two and three spatial dimensions. In the current work, we apply the cIIF method to some complex-valued nonlinear evolutionary equations such as the nonlinear SchrSdinger (NLS) equation and the complex Ginzburg-Landau (GL) equation. Detailed algorithm formulation and practical implementation of cIIF method are performed. The numerical results indicate that this method is very accurate and efficient. 展开更多

Phosphorus is a promising anode with high capacity (2596 mAh g^(-1)and 6075~6924 mAh cm^(-3)),low lithium-ion diffusion barrier (0.08 e V),and appropriate lithiation potential (~0.7 V vs Li+/Li).However,it faces the problems of huge volume expansion (~300%),low electronic conductivity (10^(-14)~10^(2)S cm^(-1)),soluble intermediates (lithium polyphosphides,Li_(x)Ps),degradation in air,and low thermal stability.In this work,phosphorus/carbon nanotube composites were coated with a polyimide layer,which plays the roles of a buffer layer to relieve the volume expansion of phosphorus,an obstruct layer to confine LixPs,an inert layer to prevent the degradation of phosphorus in air,a heat resistant layer to improve the thermal stability of the anode.The resulting composites (P/CNT@PI) display high capacity retention of798.1 m Ah g^(-1)after 150 cycles at 1 A g^(-1),achieving 17 times as much as the control sample (P/CNT). 展开更多

Because of its high density and low cetane number, the light cycle oil(LCO) containing heavy aromatics(60%—80%) can hardly be transformed through the conventional hydro-upgrading technology. In this report, a novel LCO hydrocracking technology(FD2G) was proposed for the utilization of LCO to manufacture high value-added products. Through the ingenious combination of hydroprocessing catalyst and the hydrocracking process, the high octane gasoline and the ultra-low sulfur diesel(ULSD) blendstocks were produced simultaneously. The influence of catalyst type, reaction temperature, pressure, respectively, on the research octane number(RON) of produced gasoline was studied in a fixed bed hydrogenation reactor. It indicated that high reaction temperature and medium pressure would favor the production of highoctane gasoline through the conversion of bi-aromatic and tri-aromatic hydrocarbons. The typical results of FD2 G technology on commercial units showed that it could produce clean diesel with a sulfur content of less than 10 μg/g and clean gasoline with a research octane number(RON) of up to 92. It would be contributed to the achievement of the maximum profit of a refinery, the FD2 G technology could provide a higher economic efficiency than the other diesel quality upgrading technology under the current gasoline and diesel price system. 展开更多

With the shortage of energy and the rise of crude oil in the world, the development of oil shale is gaining more attention globally. To solve the problem of traditional heat conduction with low efficiency and high cost for oil shale, a new technology called radio frequency (RF) heating (microwave heating) is introduced in this paper. Radio frequency electromagnetic (microwave) can do work directly on medium molecule of oil shale and change into heat energy, the transmission of which allows both inner and outer molecules heating simultaneously without heat conduction. Meanwhile, oil shale is a poor microwave absorbing material and microwave absorbents must be added to reach pyrolysis temperature. By this means, shale oil could be heated at a higher speed and kerogen will gradually be cracked into gas and oil. Then shale oil and gas will flow into the production wells through fractures generated by heating and be pumped up to the surface. 展开更多
