The numbers of new cancer cases and cancer deaths in Gansu province with compiled cancer incidence and mortality rates were estimated. Methods: In 2015, data from 7 registries in Gansu province were qualified. The pooled data were stratified by area (urban/rural), gender, age group (0, 1-4, 5-9, 10-14, ..., 85+) and cancer type. New cancer cases and deaths were estimated using age-specific rates and corresponding population of Gansu province in 2012. The Chinese census data in 2000 and Segi's population were applied for age-standardized rates. All the rates were expressed per 100,000 person-years. Results: Qualified 7 cancer registries (3 urban and 4 rural registries) covered 2,956,560 populations of Gansu province in 2012. The percentage of cases morphologically verified (MV%) and death certificate-only cases (DCO%) were 72.41% and 1.65%, respectively, and the mortality to incidence rate ratio (M/I) was 0.63. It was estimated that there were 575,600 new cancer cases and 331,300 cancer deaths in Gansu province in 2012. The incidence rate was 223.29/100,000 (244.14/100,000 in males and 201.50/100,000 in females), the age-standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population (ASIRC) and by world standard population (ASIRVv') were 208.95/100,000 and 206.41/100,000 with the cumulative incidence rate (0-74 years old) of 22.49%. The crude incidence rate in urban areas was equal to that in rural areas. However, after adjusted by age, the cancer incidence rate in urban was the same as that of rural areas. The crude mortality in Gansu province was 128.54/100,000 (135.04/100,000 in males and 124.43/100,000 in females), the age-standardized mortality rates by Chinese standard population (ASMRC) and by world standard population (ASMRW) were 109.54/100,000 and 108.44/100,000, respectively, and the cumulative mortality rate (0-74 years old) was 12.91%. The crude cancer mortality rate in urban areas was higher than that of rural areas. However, the age- standardized rate in urban areas was the same as that of rural areas. Cancers of stomach, liver, lung, esophagus, female breast, colorectum, cervix, brain, pancreas and ovary were the most common cancers, accounting for about 83.56% of all cancer new cases. Stomach cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, female breast cancer, colorectal cancer, brain cancer, lymphoma, pancreatic cancer and cervix cancer were the leading causes of cancer death, accounting for about 85.58% of all cancer deaths. The burden between urban and rural, males and females was different. Conclusions: Registration data of Gansu province were qualified to provide basic information on population-based cancer incidence, mortality for cancer prevention and control. The digestive tract cancer burden in Gansu province, especially for males in rural areas, was higher. The incidence rate of female breast cancer was higher in urban areas. Targeted prevention, early detection and treatment programs should be carried out by health department to control the cancer burden.展开更多

[Method] Based on the preliminary survey of distribution status, the morphological characteristics and environmental conditions of barchan dunes and barchan chains in Hexi desert area of Gansu were investigated in details. The significance of difference between samples and significance of correlation between indicators were examined via variance test. [Result] Barchan dunes and barchan chains in Hexi desert area of Gansu distributed at the leeward direction of desert fringe, generally in patch distribution. The distribution area was gravelly beach or cohesive gravel beach, with broader dune slack; winds in distribution area of barchan dunes and barchan chains blew obviously from one direction, while winds at other directions were light or occasionally strong but with low frequency;the barchan dune in the desert fringe of Hexi desert area of Gansu was relatively tall, while barchan chain was even more taller and larger. Coincidence or separation of the dune peak and the sand ridge might be related to distribution frequency of dominant prevailing wind or wind at opposite direction and the observation seasons.[Conclusion]Studying top stability of barchan dune has an important academic value in revealing blowing sand movement rule at desert fringe, invasion of sand flow, and expansion of desert.展开更多

However, the sedimentary environment of the limestone and philite of the Xihanshui Group within which the lead-zinc deposits occur is littoral and shallow sea. This is different from those in the northern belt such as the Changba-Lijiagou lead-zinc deposits, which were formed in deep sea. The reef and bioclastic limestone are widespread in the southern belt. Particularly they are associated with lead-zinc ores and there are no striae and banding but massive or disseminated structures. It is discovered that the black chimney consists of sphalerite, ankerite, pyrite and galena, in which black, coarse and radial sphalerite occurs as irregularly veins or cylindricality with a width of 10-40 cm in the center, and it is surround by fine ankerite and minor celestite with ribbon structure. The immediate wall rock of the chimney, reef limestone, was unaltered and the outside reef and bioclastic limestone were intensively silicified. Those silicified reef and bioclastic limestone host disseminated lead-zinc ores of the Luoba and Bijiashan type. It is concluded that the exhalative system occurred in a shallow sea in the Givetian of the middle Devonian. Brine is boiled due to low pressure, and a great deal of lead and zinc was dispersed in the interface between the limestone and phyllite and formed a source bed. In the Triassic period, meta-hydrothermal fluids leached and extracted metals from the source bed, and then moved and mineralized in open space such as arches and inverse limbs of anticlines, and formed massive and vein ores such as the Jianyagou and Dengjiashan type deposits.展开更多

Ductile shear zone develops in Beishan area, Gansu of Northwest China, and develops especially well in the south belt. The controls of the ductile shear zone on gold deposits are as follows. (1) The regional distribution of gold deposits (and gold spots) is controlled by the ductile shear zone. (2) The ductile-brittle shear zone is formed in the evolution process of ductile shear zone and both are only ore-bearing structures and control the shape, attitude, scale, and distribution of mineralization zones and ore-bodies. (3) Compresso-shear ductile deformation results in that the main kind of gold mineralization is altered mylonite type and the main alteralization is metasomatic. (4) Ore-bearing fracture systems are mainly P-type ones, some D-type and R-type ones, but only individual R'-type and T-type ones. (5) Dynamic differen- tiation and dynamic metamorphic hydrothermal solution resulting from ductile deformation is one of the sources of ore-forming fluid of gold mineralization, and this is identical with that ore-forming materials are mainly from metamorphic rocks, and ore-forming fluid is mainly composed of metamorphic water, and with the fluid inclusion and geo-chemical characteristics of the deposit. (6) There is a negative correlation between the gold abundance and susceptibility anlsotropy (P) of the altered mylonlte samples from the deposit, which shows that the gold mineralization is slightly later than the structural deformation. All above further expound the ore-forming model of the ductile shear zone type of gold deposits.展开更多

There are a lot of barchan dunes at accumulated sand-belts of the oasis edge of Hexi desert area of Gansu. What is characteristic of the particle size of barchan dunes? How is this particle size characteristic formed? Characteristics of particle size were analyzed in this paper by comprehensive investigation and sampling in Hexi Corridor desert area, and repeated sampling and determination in Minqin desert area. The results showed that:(1) The particle size of 0.25–0.05 mm and particle size of 0.5–0.25 mm were the main ingredients at the surface 0–5 cm depth of barchan dunes and barchan dune chains in desert area in Hexi Corridor of Gansu. Sand in Gulang desert area was relatively finer and the particle size was quite different from that of Jinchang, Linze, Jinta and Minqin desert area;(2) The particle size was changed from coarse to fine from the bottom to the top of the dunes in the main wind direction(NW) process. i.e. there was the most silt at the top of the dunes, followed by the middle of the leeward slope. The bottom of the windward slope had the most coarse sand, followed by the middle of the windward slope. The barchan dunes were changed from coarse to fine, then from fine to coarse from the bottom to the top of the dunes in the reverse wind direction(SE) process, i.e. there was the most silt in the middle of the windward slope, followed by the top of sand dunes. The bottom of the windward slope had the most coarse sand, followed by the middle of the windward slope. The standard deviation and coefficient of variation of sand dune particle size in the main wind direction process was larger, and the standard deviation and coefficient of variation of sand dune particle size in the reverse wind direction process was smaller;(3) The two processes of the main wind direction(NW) and the reverse wind direction(SE) led to alternating changes in particle size in various parts of the dunes. Two different conclusions on particle size distribution of barchan dunes in windward slope were due to the observation season differences.展开更多

The accumulated sand-belt is a byproduct of desertifieation combating through afforestation and barriers-setting. This pa- per analyzed the data ( including wind velocity/direction) of 21 sites on the accumulated sand-belt to evaluate its stability and ecological effects. The results showed that the accumulated sand-belt is in a stable state. It plays a significant role in weakening wind and this effect is enhanced with the increase of wind velocity. The height of accumulated sand-belt is an important factor characterizing its windproof function. When the wind velocity is higher than 2 m/s, the windproof area in the downwind places is 20 times greater than the height of the accumulated sand-beh. When the wind velocity is higher than 8 m/s, the wind velocity on the top of the accumulated sand-belt is less than that in the upwind open areas. When the air flow reaches the windward slope, its energy is released and reduced by uplifting along the slope and diversion towards the two wings. Wind deflector reduces the velocity of the prevailing wind on the windward slope.展开更多

Then, through the establishment of multiple linear stepwise regression equation, daily precipitation forecast with the time interval of 6 h during 0 -72 h in May, 2013 in Gansu Province was obtained. By precipitation forecast verification analysis, it was found that the precipitation forecast in Hexi region and central Gansu Province had best effect; forecast in some places of east Hedong region had relatively good effect; part of the city or state forecast effect in the plateau slope zone was relatively lower. The refined precipitation forecast had certain reference and use value in the post-production Gansu Province highway forecasting during flood season.展开更多

The economy continued to develop, the cities' function promotes fast, and the obviously superiority of policy superimposition all constitute the support condition of speeding up the new urbanization. Simultaneously, there also has the prominent questions on aspects as low quality of urbanization, the weak supporting ability of industries, "the population urbanization" falls into the difficult position, the urbanization and the uncoordinated development of agricultural countryside and so on. To speed up the new urbanization, we should handle the relations between speed and quality, cities and countryside, government guidance and participation of society properly. We should start from the most urgent problem, and make the thinking of long-term development clear. Then plan and prompt for it.展开更多

Data show that under the condition of rapid urbanization. The number and coverage of traditional villages in western China are decreasing. It is impossible to effectively protect a large number of rural settlements at the bottom of China’s traditional settlement system. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the spatial survival status of traditional villages and protect them comprehensively and extensively. Using the digital elevation model (DEM) data of traditional villages in Gansu Province, China, published by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and the attribute data obtained by the Statistics Bureau of Gansu Province, China, the nuclear density, the Mulan indices, the correlations between the heights and the centers are calculated and used to study the spatial different characteristics of the villages, and a number of results have been achieved: 1) In spatial differentiation, the spatial agglomeration of the villages is obvious and different, which can be seen by the distribution of the villages from along the upper reaches of the Yellow River to the southeast, and the distribution of prefecture-level cities is related to the landforms. 2) In vertical spatial distribution, the span of the altitude data is large. Among the villages, the Zagana Village in Diebu County of Gannan City is the highest and the Zhengjiashe Village in Bingkou Town of Longnan City is the lowest. With the increase of altitude, the number of traditional villages generally shows a tendency of decrease. 3) The spatial differentiation of the traditional villages has a clear normal distribution with the elevation, and the spatial differentiation is low, showing a distinct gourd-like structure;the eastern and southern regions are more concentrated, while the northern and western regions are less concentrated. 4) The spatial differences of the traditional villages have the characteristics of regional differences, which are weakly related to the distance between the central cities and occur mainly in the Longnan mountain regions, the Loess Plateau in the middle of Longzhong and the Gannan plateau. The results of this study are a useful support in protection of traditional villages in provincial scale. It helps to enhance the integrity and systematicness of the protection of the spatial distribution of traditionally villages. The Chinese government had put forward the “Poverty alleviation strategy” to help Gansu Province to get out of the villages’ trouble. Viewed from this angle, the research for effective patterns of traditional villages’ protection and exploitation plays a crucial role in the development of China’s “Poverty Alleviation Strategy”.展开更多

文摘Brucellosis remains one of the most common zoonoses spread worldwide, inducing enormous economic losses to the livestock industry and posing serious health threats to humans.Brucellosis re-emerged in China in the mid-1990s and reached a historically high level in 2015.The National Brucellosis Prevention and Control Plan(NBPCP)was initiated from 2016 to 2020.However,the present epidemiological status in livestock has not been elucidated, and whether Brucella variation occurred remains unclear. This study performed an extensive serological investigation in ruminant livestock from 2019 to 2021 in central Gansu Province,China. In total,11,296 samples from 337 farms were collected to detect the specific antibodies of Brucella. The yearly average serological prevalence of Brucella at the flock level and individual level declined from 11.32%to 8.26%and 1.17%to 0.57%,respectively.The apparent individuallevel seroprevalence of small and large ruminants was 0.89%and 0.52%,respectively.The brucellosis distribution has shifted from pastoral areas to agro-pastoral areas.Flock size and gender may be major risks of Brucella infection. Then, the B.melitensis TZ strain was isolated from female Tibetan sheep blood cell lysates.Phonotypical characterization demonstrated that it belongs to B.melitensis.biovar 3,and multilocus sequencing typing results indicated that it belongs to ST8.The whole genome and subsequent phylogenetic analysis demonstrated that the B.melitensis TZ strain is genetically more closely related to the B.melitensis QH61 strain. The B.melitensis TZ strain has similar growth characteristics to the B.melitensis 16 M strain.Overall, our study suggests that after strengthening control and prevention measures based on the NBPCP,there is a very low prevalence or absence of B.melitensis in the central Gansu Province of China, and the genotype of an epidemic strain of Brucella in Northwest China is relatively stable.

文摘A new basal hadrosauriform dinosaur, Xuwulongyueluni gen. et sp. nov., is reported based on an articulated specimen including a complete cranium, almost complete axial skeleton, and complete left pelvic girdle. The specimen is recovered from the Early Cretaceous Yujingzi Basin in the Jiuquan area, Gansu Province of northwestern China. Xuwulong is among the most basal members of hadrosauriform dinosaurs, and distinguished by its unique lower jaw in having a V-shaped rostral end of the dentary in lateral view and a mandibular articular surface which levels with mid-height of the dentary ramus, as well as an enlarged and downturned prepubic process. Including Xuwulong, three basal hadrosauriforms have been discovered from the Early Cretaceous Xinminpu Group in the Mazongshan area, making it an important area to study the origin and early evolution of duck-billed dinosaurs.
文摘Objective: Population-based cancer registration data in 2012 from all available cancer registries in Gansu province were collected by the Central Cancer Registry of Gansu. Targeted prevention, early detection and treatment programs should be carried out by health department to control the cancer burden.

文摘[Objective] The paper was to discuss why the top of tall barchan dunes and barchan chains widespread in single prevailing wind area had not been leveled by wind erosion. Coincidence or separation of the dune peak and the sand ridge might be related to distribution frequency of dominant prevailing wind or wind at opposite direction and the observation seasons.[Conclusion]Studying top stability of barchan dune has an important academic value in revealing blowing sand movement rule at desert fringe, invasion of sand flow, and expansion of desert.
文摘SEDEX-type lead-zinc deposits in the southern belt of the Xicheng Devonian basin, Gansu Province has been already identified. In the Triassic period, meta-hydrothermal fluids leached and extracted metals from the source bed, and then moved and mineralized in open space such as arches and inverse limbs of anticlines, and formed massive and vein ores such as the Jianyagou and Dengjiashan type deposits.

文摘The ductile shear zone-type gold deposit is a kind that both the ore-forming mechanism and ore-controlling factors are closely related to the ductile shear zone and its evolution. All above further expound the ore-forming model of the ductile shear zone type of gold deposits.

文摘Barchan dunes are a common type of dune. Two different conclusions on particle size distribution of barchan dunes in windward slope were due to the observation season differences.

文摘The accumulated sand-belts have formed along the oasis fringe, especially at the upwind areas of the desert area in Gansu Hexi of China during the process of desert control in recent 60 years. Wind deflector reduces the velocity of the prevailing wind on the windward slope.

文摘Gansu is occupying the crucial phase of prompting Gansu' s new urbanization. Then plan and prompt for it.
文摘The study and protection for traditional villages are very important for us to protect Chinese historical and cultural heritage. Viewed from this angle, the research for effective patterns of traditional villages’ protection and exploitation plays a crucial role in the development of China’s “Poverty Alleviation Strategy”.
