Complex adaptive system theory,agent-based modeling,and simulation in dominant technology formation

Dominant technology formation is the key for the hightech industry to“cross the chasm”and gain an established foothold in the market(and hence disrupt the regime).Therefore,a stimulus-response model is proposed to investigate the dominant technology by exploring its formation process and mechanism.Specifically,based on complex adaptive system theory and the basic stimulus-response model,we use a combination of agent-based modeling and system dynamics modeling to capture the interactions between dominant technology and the socio-technical landscape.The results indicate the following:(i)The dynamic interaction is“stimulus-reaction-selection”,which promotes the dominant technology’s formation.(ii)The dominant technology’s formation can be described as a dynamic process in which the adaptation intensity of technology standards increases continuously until it becomes the leading technology under the dual action of internal and external mechanisms.(iii)The dominant technology’s formation in the high-tech industry is influenced by learning ability,the number of adopting users and adaptability.Therein,a“critical scale”of learning ability exists to promote the formation of leading technology:a large number of adopting users can promote the dominant technology’s formation by influencing the adaptive response of technology standards to the socio-technical landscape and the choice of technology standards by the socio-technical landscape.There is a minimum threshold and a maximum threshold for the role of adaptability in the dominant technology’s formation.(iv)The socio-technical landscape can promote the leading technology’s shaping in the high-tech industry,and different elements have different effects.This study promotes research on the formation mechanism of dominant technology in the high-tech industry,presents new perspectives and methods for researchers,and provides essential enlightenment for managers to formulate technology strategies.

Research and Realization of the Role-Based System Access Control Management

The systematical structure of the role-based access control was analyzed,giving a full description of the definitions of user,user access,and the relation between post role and access. It puts forward a role-based access control management which is relatively independent in the applied system. This management achieves the control on user's access by distribution and cancel of role-play,which is a better solution to the problems of the access control management for the applied system. Besides,a complete scheme for the realization of this access control was provided.

Existence and Stability of Solutions to Highly Nonlinear Stochastic Differential Delay Equations Driven by G-Brownian Motion

Under linear expectation (or classical probability), the stability for stochastic differential delay equations (SDDEs), where their coefficients are either linear or nonlinear but bounded by linear functions, has been investigated intensively. Recently, the stability of highly nonlinear hybrid stochastic differential equations is studied by some researchers. In this paper, by using Peng’s G-expectation theory, we first prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions to SDDEs driven by G-Brownian motion (G-SDDEs) under local Lipschitz and linear growth conditions. Then the second kind of stability and the dependence of the solutions to G-SDDEs are studied. Finally, we explore the stability and boundedness of highly nonlinear G-SDDEs.

Implementation of Generic AHP Evaluation System and Its Application to Impact Factors of On-Line Consumption Behavior

To implement the computation of AHP （Analytic Hierarchy Process） automatically, make the implementation independence on the platform, and to convenient the service composition and service computation, this study implemented AHP model as a Web service and stored the evaluation information as XML form. This paper introduces the overall demands of AHP evaluation system firstly, and then presents some key technologies to implement AHP evaluation system, including mainly AHP evaluation index architecture based on XML, the class of AHP model, the Web service encapsulation of AHP, the publication and invocation of AHP and the client application. At last, the system is used to analyze the impact factors of online consumption behavior.

Research on the Mechanism of Retail Strategy Influencing Consumer Behavior Intention——Based on Empirical Analysis of Domestic Luxury Cosmetics Brands

This is a research on the mechanism of retail strategy mix and consumer behavior intention,and psychological impact on consumer attitude, consumer purchase decision-making model and its components are conducted firstly. Next, retail strategy, merchandise strategy, and store strategy, contained in the retail management theory, are adopted as other important variables to measure the impact on consumer attitudes. And then, the key factors of retail strategy mix are identified by means of Focus Group (FG). In addition, the hypothetical model of retail strategy mix and consumer behavior intention for domestic luxury cosmetic brands is established to understand the relationship between the two factors. Finally, empirical researches are conducted on consumers and retailers of luxury cosmetics brands. And some advice are given on retail strategy mix's influence on the consumer behavior intentions, aiming to enlighten domestic luxury cosmetic enterprises to improve performance by the integrated use of retail strategy mix.

Study of the Influence of Parent-brand Similarity,Association,and Complimentary Fit on Co-brand Attributes

In this paper,it investigates the factors affecting successive brand alliance in which two brands from different product categories are featured together to introduce a co-brand.Based on the brand alliance theories,the degree of association,similarity,and complimentary fit between parents brands are important factors in determining successive brand alliance.By using the 5P's,which are premium price,perceived quality,product features,performance,and perceived image,as the measuring scale in brand attributes for each brand,it has reflected the change of brand attributes of the brands before and after brand alliance.400 subjects participate in the research,and 360 of which are valid.From this study,we conclude that when association between parents turns from "-" to "+" and similarity from "-" to "0",there is a trend of descending of co-brand attributes.When fit between parents turns from "-" to "0",there is also a trend of descending of co-brand attributes.While fit between parents turns from "+" to "0",there is a trend of increasing of co-brand attributes.The results show an interesting pattern of interactions among factors,which has important implications for managers in co-brand marketing.These also provide researchers with promising avenues for further study in brand alliance.

Types and Models of Product-Service System in Design Agencies

Product-service system design(PSSD)plays a significant role in both design theory and practice with increasing importance.Although scholars have made significant efforts to delineate its definition,methods,and applications,misunderstandings about PSSD persist widely across design agencies and academia.This study aims to outline the various types and models of product-service systems(PSSs)based on inputs from product design agencies.To achieve this purpose,this study applies a two-step research method,comprising a Q-sorting procedure followed by hypothesis testing.This allows us to study the business scope and design model of each design agency from a field research perspective.We propose a design framework with four basic types of PSSs,11 extended types of PSSs,and 4P-8D PSSD models.The current study has theoretical and practical implications.For academics,our models are clearly classified and validated.For practitioners,our models of PSSs can support design agencies in clearly recognizing their position within the design industry,allowing them to select the appropriate types and models to facilitate their future development.Our study also provides helpful guidances for college graduates,cutting-edge designers,and new design studios.

Decision-Making of a Single Supplier and Multiple Loss-Averse Retailers under Partial Trade Credit

Under partial trade credit,suppliers usually require retailers to pay a fraction of the purchase cost immediately when ordering and the remaining payment is deferred at the end of the sales period.Considering a supply chain consisting of a risk-neutral supplier and multiple loss-averse retailers,we develop models under partial trade credit.We analyze the optimal decisions of a supplier and retailers under decentralized decision-making.The study shows that there is a unique Nash equilibrium among the retailers,and the optimal total order quantity of retailers increases as the delayed payment ratio increases and as the degree of retailers'competition increases,but decreases with an increase in the loss aversion.Numerical studies are conducted to demonstrate the solution procedures and the effects of the parameters on decisions and profits.

Corporate Litigation,Reputation and Top Executive Turnover-Considering the Moderating Roles of Political and Legal Conditions

With the rapid development of China's economy,more and more listed companies have to face frequent corporate litigation.As corporate lawsuits are on the rise,it is necessary to study the measures taken by the company when a corporate litigation occurs.Some scholars'research indicates that top executive turnover may be one of the countermeasures,but few scholars have discussed this issue in the Chinese market.Our research uses 13435 samples of Chinese market,takes the company's reputation as an observing point,and studies the relationship between corporate litigation and top executive turnover.In addition,due to the special political environment and the large differences in the legal environment between different provinces in China,we have further explored the moderating role of political conditions and legal conditions.It is worth mentioning that our empirical research method is the propensity score matching(PSM),and by this way we can easily avoid sample selectivity bias.Finally,a robust experimental conclusion is obtained:corporate litigation and top executive turnover are significantly positively correlated,and this correlation will be adjusted by political and legal conditions.Our research enriches the field of corporate litigation and also have certain guiding significance for the social construction of the rule of law in China.

Model of Risk Forewarn and Investment Decision in Stock Markets and Its Realization

Then, on probing into the structure and function of the realization of the model, the paper presents the method of data interface.

Market Demand,Technological Innovation and Development of China's Strategic Emerging Industries

Strategic emerging industries have become an important engine of economic growth and main power to boost improvement.We gather panel data of 31 provinces and cities in China from 2003 to 2013,and empirically analyze the impact of market demand,R&D investment,technology innovation and new products output on the development of China's strategic emerging industries. The results suggest the growing domestic and international market demands are main factors to the development of strategic emerging industries.R&D investment,technology innovation and new products output also play important roles in promoting the development of strategic emerging industries. The objective conclusions are obtained through theoretical and empirical analyses.

Stock-Selection Strategies Optimization of Fund Management Companies by Analytic Hierarchy Process

Securities investment fund is one of the most important institutional investors in the securities market. The quality of the management of the securities investment fund by the fund management company not only directly affects its survival and development,but also plays a decisive role in the stable operation of securities market and even the macroeconomy. As China is in rapid development of funds,scientific and effective investment strategies will be the only road for the long-term development of wellestablished fund management companies. We attempt to combine the value investment strategies with quantitative investment strategies to build a system of optimized investment strategies with the use of analytic hierarchy process so as to improve business performance of fund management companies and to foster the concept of value investment. Moreover,it possesses certain significance in enriching investment strategies for securities investment fund and promoting the healthy growth of the Chinese securities investment fund.

Research on Cooperation Mechanism of China's Financial Regulation and Supervision System

Financial regulation and supervision is an important subject in finance research. After the U. S. subprime mortgage crisis,the weakness in this field becomes the research focus. Every country attaches importance to strengthen the financial supervision and management. But the financial regulatory system is a large system,and the process of model building and index selection is very complicated. A model for China's financial regulation and supervision system was proposed and a system evaluation method was improved. A more exact result was drawn by choosing 2003- 2009 index data.

The Impacts of Human Resource Management Practices on the Performance of Enterprises in Abidjan(Cte d'Ivoire)

In this paper,we theorize about the impacts of human resource management（HRM） practices on enterprises＇ performance in Abidjan（Cote d＇Ivoire）.Specifically,we emphasize the correlation between HRM practices and the perceived enterprise performance.A factor analysis of different HRM practices was utilized.The exploratory factor analysis on the HRM practices for managerial employees revealed three HRM dimensions：employee development,feedback systems,and pay/organization.A separate factor analysis for HRM practices for non-managerial employees led to the same conclusions.These three factors resemble those obtained in previous empirical study and discussed in the theoretical HRM literature.Therefore,the relationship among these three HRM dimensions and their relationship with enterprise performance was examined in the present study to facilitate comparison between managerial and non-managerial employees in the Ivorian context.

Robust Synchronization in an E/I Network with Medium Synaptic Delay and High Level of Heterogeneity

It is known that both excitatory and inhibitory neuronal networks can achieve robust synchronization only under certain conditions, such as long synaptic delay or low level of heterogeneity. In this work, robust synchronization can be found in an excitatory/inhibitory （E/I） neuronal network with medium synaptie delay and high level of heterogeneity, which often occurs in real neuronal networks. Two effects of post-synaptic potentials （PSP） to network synchronization are presented, and the synaptic contribution of excitatory and inhibitory neurons to robust synchronization in this E/I network is investigated. It is found that both excitatory and inhibitory neurons may contribute to robust synchronization in E/I networks, especially the excitatory PSP has a more positive effect on synchronization in E/I networks than that in excitatory networks. This may explain the strong robustness of synchronization in Eli neuronal networks.

Decent Work and Industrial Upgrading in Global Production Network: a Case of China Apparel Industry

China apparel industry, which is deeply embedded in the global production network (GPN), faces two urgent issues, social upgrading and economic upgrading. The study of GPN places great emphasis on the two issues. Based on the survey of Ningbo apparel industry, four key components of decent work in China apparel industry are discussed. The role of buyers in promoting decent work in suppliers can't be neglected. There are significant correlations between business type and some indicators of decent work. Though the majority of the apparel firms are engaging in processing, more and more firms are involved in marketing and branding. The upgrading trajectory of China apparel industry leads to the economic and social performances.

Comparison of Earnings Power between State Commercial Banks and Stock Banks

As earnings power is one of the primary capacities for commercial banks, by analyzing several indexes on banks' operation performance, this article compared the earnings power between the state banks and the stock banks in China. Through the analysis, some problems of domestic banks may be found and pointed out that the commercial bank should stress on the target of profit maximum to avoid the financial risks. With enough earnings power, the domestic banks can take the challenge with those foreign banks entering domestic money market.

The Constitution and Working Mechanism of the Fast Fashion Enterprise Financial Competitiveness

With the Pearson Correlation Coefficient measurement method, this paper studies the correlation between the various elements influencing the financial competitiveness of the fast fashion enterprieses and the long-term financial stability, which shows that the financial resilience has the biggest correlation with the long-term financial stability, which is followed in sequence by financial management capacity, financial resources capacity, financial performance capacity, and financial activity capacity. This is due to the fact that such factors as financial solvency, financial operations, profitability, growth capacity and the ability to generate cash exert effect upon the long-term stability of the financial competitiveness.
