This research work is carried out to study the friction and wear behavior of parts made of newly developed Nylon6-Fe composite material by FDM. This work also involves the comparison of the friction and wear characteristics of the Nylon6-Fe composite with the existing acrylonitrile butadiene styrene(ABS) filament of the FDM machine. This Is carried out on the pin on disk setup by varying the load(5, 10, 15 and 20 N) and speed(200 and 300 r/min). It is concluded that the newly developed composite is highly wear resistant and can be used in industrial applications where wear resistance is of paramount importance. Morphology of the surface in contact with the Nylon6-Fe composite and ABS is also carried out.展开更多

Reflection and transmissio...The present investigation is concerned with the wave propagation at an interface of a micropolar generalized thermoelastic solid half space and a heat conducting micropolar fluid half space. Reflection and transmission phenomena of plane waves are investigated, which impinge obliquely at the plane interface between a micropolar generalized thermoelastic solid half space and a heat conducting micropolar fluid half space. The incident wave is assumed to be striking at the interface after propagating through the micropolar generalized thermoelastic solid. The amplitude ratios of various reflected and transmitted waves are obtained in a closed form. It is found that they are a function of the angle of incidence and frequency and are affected by the elastic properties of the media. Micropolarity and thermal relaxation effects are shown on the amplitude ratios for a specific model. The results of some earlier literatures are also deduced from the present investigation.展开更多

Computer vision is a consistent and advanced technique for image processing,with the propitious outcome,and enormous potential.A computer vision has been strongly adopted in the heterogeneous domain including agricult...Computer vision is a consistent and advanced technique for image processing,with the propitious outcome,and enormous potential.A computer vision has been strongly adopted in the heterogeneous domain including agriculture.During the study of existing research on the role of computer vision in fruits and vegetables among various horticulture products of agriculture fields it is noticed that,the existing survey paper has not focused properly on mathematical framework,feature descriptor,defect detection on multiple datasets of fruits and vegetables elaborately.This has motivated us to undertake an extensive survey.In this paper,we examine the paper broadly related to fruits and vegetables among various horticulture products of agriculture fields,specific model,data pre-processing,data analysis method and overall value of performance accuracy by using a particular performance metric.Moreover,we study the different type of disease present in various fruit and vegetable.We have also focused on the comparison of different machine learning approach with respect to different performance metrics on the same dataset.Thus,we have found that among all existing machine learning techniques SVM give better classification accuracy.A generalized framework to grade the quality and defect detection of multiple fruits and vegetables is also proposed in this survey.This paper covers the survey of ninety-eight papers closely related to computer vision in the agricultural field.By the survey,we have found that computer vision plays an important role and has a large potential to address the challenges related to the agricultural fields.展开更多
This paper proposes a simple and practical approach to model the uncertainty of solar irradiance and determines the optimized day-ahead(DA)schedule of electricity mar-ket.The problem formulation incorporates the power...This paper proposes a simple and practical approach to model the uncertainty of solar irradiance and determines the optimized day-ahead(DA)schedule of electricity mar-ket.The problem formulation incorporates the power output of distributed solar photovoltaic generator(DSPVG)and forecasted load demands with a specified level of certainty.The proposed approach determines the certainty levels of the random variables(solar irradiance and forecasted load demand)from their probability density function curves.In this process of optimization,the energy storage system(ESS)has also been mod-eled based on the fact that the energy stored during low locational marginal price(LMP)periods and dispatched during high LMP periods would strengthen the economy of DA schedule.The objective of the formulated non-linear optimization problem is to maximize the social welfare of market participants,which incorporates the assured generation outputs of DSPVG,subject to real and reactive power balance and transmission capability constraints of the system and charging/dis-charging and energy storage constraints of ESS.The simulation has been performed on the Indian utility 62-bus system.The results are presented with a large number of cases to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach for the efficient,economic and reliable operation of DA electricity markets.展开更多

This work is aimed at powerdelay-produ...In this work, optimization of complementary metal oxide semiconductor(CMOS) repeater driven interconnect resistive-capacitive(RC) line is carried out using genetic algorithm(GA). This work is aimed at powerdelay-product(PDP) minimization of RC interconnect at 180 nm technology node. The algorithm simultaneously optimizes the values of supply voltage, number of repeaters and repeater width for delay and PDP minimization.The accuracy of results obtained is verified by simulations from Cadence virtuoso tool. For delay minimization,comparison of GA results with previous results of the literature shows an improvement of 44.4% in the value of the optimal number of repeaters required. This improvement is obtained by increasing the repeater size, which also increases power dissipation, so a tradeoff has also been achieved in terms of PDP minimization. The comparison of PDP results obtained in this work, with the results at 70, 100, and 130 nm technologies from literature shows improvement in optimal number of repeaters required. The results of algorithm and simulations are in good agreement and demonstrate the validity of proposed algorithm.展开更多

Optical networks act as a backbone for coming generation high speed applications.These applications demand a very high bandwidth which can be exploited with the use of wavelength division multiplexing(WDM)technology.T...Optical networks act as a backbone for coming generation high speed applications.These applications demand a very high bandwidth which can be exploited with the use of wavelength division multiplexing(WDM)technology.The issue of setting light paths for the traffic demands is routing and wavelength assignment(RWA)problem.Based on the type of traffic patterns,it can be categorized as offline or online RWA.In this paper,an effective solution to offline(static)routing and wavelength assignment is presented considering multiple objectives simultaneously.Initially,the flower pollination(FP)technique is utilized.Then the problem is extended with the parallel hybrid technique with flower pollination and intelligent water drop algorithm(FPIWDA).Further,FPIWD is hybrid in parallel with simulated annealing(SA)algorithm to propose a parallel hybrid algorithm FPIWDSA.The results obtained through extensive simulation show the superiority of FPIWD as compared to FP.Moreover,the results in terms of blocking probability with respect to wavelengths and load of FPIWDSA are more propitious than FP and FPIWD.展开更多
