Recently, large-scale research programmes have been conducted on martensite plus ferrite dual-phase steels which are found to exhibit a higher strength level and much better formability in comparison with the commercial high strength low alloy steels. However, it seems to be quite difficult to measure exactly the true strains of the martensite islands and the ferrite grains with respect to the macroscopic straining of bulk specimens. So the existing theories for evaluating strength of dual-phase steels have to be based on the data obtained by using optical metallography with stereological 展开更多
