Asymptotic Solution for Coupled Heat and Mass Transfer During the Solidification of High Water Content Materials

This paper focuses on obtaining an asymptotic solution for coupled heat and mass transfer problem during the solidification of high water content materials. It is found that a complicated function involved in governing equations can be approached by Taylor polynomials unlimitedly, which leads to the simplification of governing equations. The unknown functions involved in governing equations can then be approximated by Chebyshev polynomials. The coefficients of Chebyshev polynomials are determined and an asymptotic solution is obtained. With the asymptotic solution, the dehydration and freezing fronts of materials are evaluated easily, and are consistent with numerical results obtained by using an explicit finite difference method. 展开更多

A noninvasive brain-computer interface is a central task in the comprehensive analysis and understanding of the brain and is an important challenge in international brain-science research.Current implanted brain-computer interfaces are cranial and invasive,which considerably limits their applications.The development of new noninvasive reading and writing technologies will advance substantial innovations and breakthroughs in the field of brain-computer interfaces.Here,we review the theory and development of the ultrasound brain functional imaging and its applications.Furthermore,we introduce latest advancements in ultrasound brain modulation and its applications in rodents,primates,and human;its mechanism and closed-loop ultrasound neuromodulation based on electroencephalograph are also presented.Finally,high-frequency acoustic noninvasive brain-computer interface is prospected based on ultrasound super-resolution imaging and acoustic tweezers. 展开更多

Using the linear response theory and random phase approximation, we develop a general dynamic electron transport theory for multiprobe mesoscopic structures in an arbitrarily time-dependent external field. In this case, the responses of the dynamic current, charge and internal potential to the external fields can be determined self-consistently. Without loss of generality, charge (current) conservation and gauge invariance under a potential shift are satisfied. The optical frequency comb based on microresonators(microcombs)is an integrated coherent light source and has the potential to promise a high-precision frequency standard;self-reference and a long-term stable microcomb are the keys to this realization.Here,we demonstrated a 0.7-octave spectrum Kerr comb via dispersion engineering in a thin-film lithium niobate microresonator,and the single-soliton state can be accessed passively with long-term stability over 3 h.With such a robust broadband coherent comb source using thin-film lithium niobate,a fully stabilized microcomb can be expected for massive practical applications. 展开更多
