NRS 2002 and MNA protocols were applied to short-term institutionalized patients in Rio Verde (Brazil). Older adults and people with special needs of all ages, both sexes, regardless of possible pathology they may have, except if it causes contagion, were included, patients duly authorized by the person responsible for the institution and who were able to undergo evaluation. Thirty-eight patients from the institution were evaluated, of which ten were excluded from the research according to pre-established criteria. More than 50% of participants were male, with an overall average age of 63.43 years. The characteristics related to nutritional status by NRS 2002 and MNA showed that the risk of malnutrition and its absence are associated with a wide age range. The MNA presents a more nuanced nutritional risk classification, showing that even 61% of the 96% of participants who would be out of nutrition risk, according to the NRS 2002, are “at risk of malnutrition”. Applying the MNA can demonstrate more conservative results than the NRS 2002.展开更多

Meanwhile, as educational psychologists, De Corte et al advocate four theories in teaching and learning process, which include a theory of expertise, namely, (1) A well-organized and flexibly accessible domain specific knowledge base; (2) Heuristic methods; (3) Meta-knowledge; (4) Self-regulatory skills; (5) Beliefs. Not coincidently, the New Standards is in line with the theory of educational psychology. This gives the way to the author to argue, from the view of educational psychology, by analyzing culture awareness as being functional in meta-cognition and self-regulation aspects in expertise development, the importance of emphasizing culture awareness in English language teaching and learning.展开更多

The aim of this study was to valorize (OMWW) by anaerobic fermentation in the presence of cow manure in order to produce biogas and reduce their toxic load. Many tests were carried out by fermenting (OMWW) with polyphenols in the presence of cow manure in thermophile temperatures. The performance of this treatment was valuated through measurements of biogas production and by the determination of different parameters of fermented media (pH, volume of the biogas and polyphenols).展开更多

Methods: Data on the prescribed or infused volume, calories, and protein, as well as their respective needs for each individual, were collected. Anthropometric parameters and age data were also collected from the medical records of 41 patients admitted to the intensive care unit. Results: Prescribed versus infused enteral diet volume was presented in 5 weeks which corresponds to the maximum duration of ICU treatment. Regarding sampling, the majority corresponded to elderly people (>64 years old) and males (63.4%). The total average prescribed was 719.2 mL of enteral diet on an average of 649.7 mL delivered. In addition, there was no significant difference between the prescribed and delivered volume, caloric value, and protein content of the diet only in the last week of hospitalization, which corresponded to the range of 29 - 36 days. Several factors make it difficult to reach the patient’s caloric and protein recommendations. Most of the reasons are not recorded, corresponding to 57.1%, indicating the difficulty of assessing the inadequacy of the prescribed and delivered volume. Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the first time that a prescription vs. delivery assessment has been carried out for patients in the Brazilian Midwest. In addition, although our research is a difficulty reported worldwide (in most hospitals), we also provide opportunities for how the problem was solved in our case, which may contribute to other cases.展开更多

文摘Research motivation:Through the 12 weeks dance therapy intervention for children with autism, the purpose is to explore the intervention model of dance therapy for children with autism and the changes in motor ability, social ability, and communication ability of children with autism after dance therapy intervention. The results of the research are expected to expand the intervention mode of dance therapy in my country and provide practical reference for rehabilitation intervention of children with autism.Research methods:24 autistic boys aged 6 to 12 with mild to moderate symptoms were recruited and screened through the Internet as the subjects of this study. We randomly divided them into experimental group(N=12)and control group(N=12).All children with autism have an autism diagnosis certificate issued by Children’s Hospital or a tertiary hospital, excluding other mental diseases(such as epilepsy, major physical disability, mental illness,no history of drugs and other interventions,etc.).We used the paired sample t-test to compare the score difference between the dance treatment group and the control group before and after the two groups, and used the observation method to record the basic communication behavior and the number of active communication behaviors in the experimental group during the intervention process. All data analysis is used in SPSS 20.0.Research results:After 12 weeks of dance therapy intervention, there were statistically significant differences in the gross movement, balance, and coordination abilities of the children in the experimental group compared with those before the intervention(p<0.01).There was no significant difference between the children in the control group(p>0.05).After 12 weeks of dance therapy intervention, there were statistically significant differences in the scores of the social response scale for children with autism in the experimental group(p<0.05).There was no significant change in the scores of each item of the SRS scale before and after intervention in the control group and the dance treatment group(p>0.05).
文摘The experiment was conducted at the smallholder crocodile farm at Pouk district,Siem reap province, and lasted 12 months, commenced from January 1st to December 31st,2023.The CRBD(Completely Randomized Block Design),was used in 3 treatments, such as T1(fed chicken intestine only),T2(fed chicken intestine+trash fish)and T3(fed trash fish only),with 4 replications in each treatment. The block was set by gender of crocodile, male and female. The 36 of local breed crocodiles 4 months old were allocated into each replication randomly. The result found that the length of crocodile gradually increased in the first semester, then it greatly increased from or for second semester for all treatments. In addition, the final body length of crocodile was significant different among treatments(p<0.001),the treatment of T2(fed chicken intestine+trash fish)had the longest one.Body length was also affected by gender, and male crocodile had longer body length(p<0.001).However,there were no significant differences for the interaction between types of feed with gender(p>0.05)(Table 1).The body weight of crocodile had gradually increased in the first semester, then it greatly increased from or for second semester for all treatments, while the final body weight of crocodile was also significant different among treatments(p<0.001)and the gender of crocodile(p<0.001).The average ADG(Daily Weight Gain)was significant different among treatments(p<0.001).Treatment of T2(fed chicken intestine+trash fish)had highest ADG,11.05 g,followed by T3(fed trash fish only),while the T1 had the lowest one.The gender of crocodile affected the ADG of crocodile, and male crocodile had higher ADG than female crocodile(p<0.001).However,there were no significant differences for the interaction between type of feed with gender(p>0.05).Feed intake was calculated based on amount of feed offer and measured in fresh basis. The amount of intake feed in all treatments was the same.FCR(Feed Conversion Ratio)was significant different among treatments(p<0.001)and also gender of crocodile(p<0.001).However,there were no significant differences for the interaction between types of feed with gender(p>0.05).In conclusion, the uses of trash fish and chicken intestine are an alternative feed source for crocodile to result in higher growth performance of crocodile.
文摘Nutritional status expresses the physiological and nutritional needs to maintain the composition and adequate functioning of the organism. Applying the MNA can demonstrate more conservative results than the NRS 2002.
文摘In pig production, the selection of parent stock with high capacity and quality is a very important factor in order to obtain high-yield offspring. Therefore,a“study on the quality of boar semen in Kandal province”was conducted for the purpose of comparing and evaluating the quality of boar semen(VAC:Volume Activity Concentration)between Duroc breeds,Yorkshire breeds and Landrace breeds. The study was carried out according to an observation study by selecting three breeds of boars around 3 years old, including two Duroc, two Yorkshire and two Landrace. Each boar was observed in three months, three times a month, and the interval was three to four days. The study took place in Takhmao City,Kandal Province,Cambodia. The results showed that the semen volume per ejaculate per head obtained from Yorkshire boar was an average of 250±76.16 mL,which was higher than the semen volume of Landrace with an average of 173.33±59.73 mL.And the semen volume of Duroc was an average of 149.44±72.70 mL.This value indicates that the semen volume per ejaculate per head was significantly different(p<0.01).The activity or mobility of spermatozoa in the semen between the three breeds differed with slightly significant difference(p<0.05),with the spermatozoa scored from the Yorkshire being 0.76±0.06,Landrace being 0.79±0.05 and Duroc being 0.83±0.03.The semen concentration showed that the Yorkshire had an average spermatozoa concentration of 568.89×10^(6) sperm cells/mL,and the Landrace had an average spermatozoa concentration of 321.11×10^(6) sperm cells/mL and the Duroc an average spermatozoa concentration of 568.86×10^(6) sperm cells/mL,which further confirmed that there was a significant difference in the statistical meaning(p<0.001).The semen quality(VAC)per one ejaculate between the three breeds showed significant difference(p<0.05),in which the VAC of the Yorkshire was 39.31×10^(9) sperms per ejaculate,Landrace was 44.54×10^(9) sperm cells per ejaculate and Duroc was 70.28×10^(9) sperm cells per ejaculate.Based on the above results,we can conclude that the semen quality(VAC)values of the three breeds of pigs are good, which can save the breeding because it shows the excellent quality of each breed.

文摘Zinc metal is a promising anode material for next-generation aqueous batteries, but its practical application is limited by the formation of zinc dendrite. To prevent zinc dendrite growth, various Zn^(2+)-conducting but water-isolating solid-electrolyte interphase(SEI)films have been developed, however, the required high-purity chemical materials are extremely expensive. In this work, phosphogypsum(PG),an industrial byproduct produced from the phosphoric acid industry,is employed as a multifunctional protective layer to navigate uniform zinc deposition.Theoretical and experimental results demonstrate that PG-derived CaSO_(4)2H_(2)O can act as an artificial SEI layer to provide fast channels for Zn^(2+)transport.Moreover,CaSO_(4)2H_(2)O could release calcium ions(Ca^(2+))due to its relatively high Kspvalue, which have a higher binding energy than that of Zn^(2+)on the Zn surface, thus preferentially adsorbing to the tips of the protuberances to force zinc ions to nucleate at inert region. As a result, the Zn@PG anode achieves a high Coulombic efficiency of 99.5%during 500 cycles and long-time stability over 1000 hours at 1 m A cm^(-2).Our findings will not only construct a low-cost artificial SEI film for practical metal batteries, but also achieve a high-value utilization of phosphogypsum waste.

文摘Mimosa tenuiflora and Piptadenia stipulacea are commonly accepted as drought-tolerant species but little is known about their response to drought followed by rehydration. Therefore, the interplay between leaf water potential and osmotic adjustment on photo synthetic and growth parameters of these species was examined.A greenhouse study was conducted in a split-plot design with two water conditions in the main plots(control;drought followed by rehydration),and eight sampling times in the subplots(1,4and 7 days of drought, and 1,3,6,12,and 17 days of rehydration).Plant water status and biochemical changes were assessed as well as leaf gas exchange and subsequent growth.Under drought stress, both species maintained a low leaf water potential throughout the day by accumulating compatible solutes, thus allowing a rapid and full recovery of water status when rehydrated.Although these plants minimized water loss by closing their stomata, neither showed stomatal limitations to photosynthesis. The inhibition of this process during drought was possibly related to mesophyll limitations as well as to a reversible downregulation of photo systems, along with adjustments of their stoichiometry.Water deficits also triggered morphological adaptations at the whole plant level, leading to reduced growth, mainly of the shoots in M.tenuiflora and the roots in P.stipulacea.

文摘At present, China's local engineering universities have basically formed five modes of collaborative education between Engineering Universities and Enterprises, namely the mode relied on university-enterprise alliance, the mode centered on the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program", the mode rooted in key disciplines, the mode based on the innovation and entrepreneurship education activities and the mode of carrying out international joint training, etc. However, in the process of university -enterprise collaborative education, there are still some shortcomings such as long-term deficiency, low fit and insufficient system. Therefore, three main ways to deepen the university-enterprise collaborative education are proposed: The first is to improve and implement the local government's policy guarantee system and incentive measures, fully mobilize and stimulate the enthusiasm and initiative of enterprises to participate in university -enterprise collaborative education; The second is to innovate the long-tenn operation mechanism of university-enterprise collaborative education, and to open up the last mile of educating and employing people; The third is to innovate the university-enterprise joint university-running mode and build a system of engineering talents that integrates innovation and practical capabilities.
文摘The education of migrant workers' children is not only education but also social issue. Countries and places have introduced a number of policies to address the issue in a timely manner. At first, this paper analyzes the compulsory education policy for migrant workers' children and off-site college entrance policy, then find that there are still many problems in the formulation and implementation of policy. In the future, the relevant departments should be through improving the social status of migrant workers, increasing efforts to support the private school children of migrant workers, increasing investment in adult education, increasing the publicity of city, such the four aspects of policy guidance to coordinate and solve the education of migrant workers' children.
文摘The New Standards for English issued in 2001 defined English learning as to develop "comprehensive competence in language using", which consists of language competence, language knowledge, affective aspects, learning strategy and cultural awareness. This gives the way to the author to argue, from the view of educational psychology, by analyzing culture awareness as being functional in meta-cognition and self-regulation aspects in expertise development, the importance of emphasizing culture awareness in English language teaching and learning.
文摘This paper presents an experimental and analytical investigation of the influence of variables related to soil weathering on the geomechanical performance of sand-silt mixtures containing lateritic soils,i.e.intensely weathered tropical soils with the influence of interparticle bonding. The sand-silt mixtures containing different relative proportions between uniform sand and lateritic soil were produced, and geomechanical soil characterization tests were performed.Based on the results,a transition from a primarily coarse-to a fine-grained prevailing soil structure was found to cause considerable impact on the geomechanical performance of these soils,as evidenced by design variables related to soil mineralogy and size distribution characteristics.Specifically, fines contents of both individual soil particles and soil aggregations were found to correlate with experimental results, while the relative proportion between sesquioxides(aluminum, and iron oxides),and silica,i.e.sesquioxide-silica ratios(SSR^(-1)),facilitated estimates concerning changes in geomechanical performance. Finally, the application of the sandsilt mixtures containing lateritic soil on soil walls reinforced with polymeric strips was also evaluated, further emphasizing the potential advantages of adopting variables related to soil weathering on design guidelines concerning tropical soils.
文摘The Caatinga biome is an important ecosystem in the semi-arid region of Brazil. It has significantly degraded due to human activities and is currently a region undergoing desertification. Thus, monitoring the variation in the Caatinga biome has become essential for its sustainable development. However, traditional methods for estimating aboveground biomass(AGB)are time-consuming and destructive.Remote sensing, such as optical and radar imaging, can estimate and correlate with vegetation.Nevertheless, radar imaging is still a novelty to be applied in estimating the AGB of this biome, which is an area with little research. Therefore, this study aimed to use Sentinel-1 images to estimate the AGB of the Caatinga biome in Sergipe State(northeastern Brazil)and to verify its influencing factors.Nineteen sample plots(30 m×30 m)were selected, and the stems of individuals with a circumference at breast height(1.3 m above the ground)equal to or greater than 6.0 cm were measured, and the AGB through an allometric equation was estimated. The Sentinel-1 images from 3 different periods(green, intermediate, and dry periods)were used to consider the phenological conditions of the Caatinga biome. All the pre-processing and extraction of attributes(co-polarized VV(vertical transmit and vertical receive),cross-polarized VH(vertical transmit and horizontal receive),and band ratio VH/VV backscatter, radar vegetation index, dual polarization synthetic aperture radar(SAR)vegetation index(DPSVI),entropy(H),and alpha angle(α))were performed with Sentinel’s Application Platform. These attributes were used to estimate the AGB through simple and multiple linear regressions and evaluated by the coefficients of determination(R2),correlation(r),and root mean squared error(RMSE).The results showed that the attributes individually had little ability to estimate the AGB of the Caatinga biome in the three periods.Combined with multiple regression,we found that the intermediate period presented the equation with the best results among the observed and estimated variables(R^(2)=0.73;r=0.85;RMSE=8.33 Mg/hm^(2)),followed by the greenness period(R2=0.72;r=0.85;RMSE=8.40 Mg/hm^(2)).The attributes contributing to these equations were VH/VV,DPSVI,H,α,and co-polarized VV for the green period and cross-polarized VH for the intermediate period. The study showed that the Sentinel-1 images could be used to estimate the AGB of the Caatinga biome in the green and intermediate phenological periods since the SAR attributes highly correlated with the estimated variable(i.e.,AGB)through multiple linear equations.
文摘The olive mill waste waters (OMWW) generated from olive oil extraction is a major environmental concern since they are characterized by their role as a pollutant (high organic and mineral matters) and their pH acid. The aim of this study was to valorize (OMWW) by anaerobic fermentation in the presence of cow manure in order to produce biogas and reduce their toxic load. Many tests were carried out by fermenting (OMWW) with polyphenols in the presence of cow manure in thermophile temperatures. The performance of this treatment was valuated through measurements of biogas production and by the determination of different parameters of fermented media (pH, volume of the biogas and polyphenols).

文摘Ontogenetic aging of tissues and the gradual decrease of adventitious rooting are known challenges for the clonal propagation of woody species, hampering clonal forestry programs. This study examined possible signatures of tissue rejuvenation/reinvigoration in different propagated materials of Eucalyptus microcorys by analyzing the total protein profile, peroxidase activity,macro-and micronutrient contents, and adventitious rooting of mini cuttings. The analyses were performed on E.microcorys shoots which were successfully obtained by seminal and grafting propagation, micropropagation with epicormic shoots, and indirect organogenesis.Among four mature trees used in the propagation, tissues from the one with the best propagation results were investigated for signs of tissue rejuvenation and/or reinvigoration.Five individuals from each technique were randomly selected and transferred to a semi-hydroponic"channel"system.After four weeks in the seedbed, the total protein, peroxidase activity, nutrient content and rooting of the mini cuttings were evaluated.SDS-PAGE enabled the differentiation of leaf samples obtained by grafting from the other propagation techniques,as revealed by two distinct bands.Materials obtained by micropropagation with epicormic shoots showed the highest peroxidase activity, while those obtained by seminal propagation and from the selected mature tree showed the lowest peroxidase activity.A portable X-ray fluorescence spectroscope(pXRF)identified adequate nutrient content in most of the nutrients tested in materials obtained by seminal and grafting propagation, and by indirect organogenesis. The analysis of adventitious rooting showed that the highest rooting percentage was observed in mini cuttings from seminal propagation(75%)followed by indirect organogenesis(35%).Based on principal component analysis,it was concluded that rooting of mini cuttings from both seminal propagation and indirect organogenesis was associated with phosphorous, sulphur, and potassium contents, which suggests a higher level of tissue rejuvenation/reinvigoration in these propagated plants.Further studies are recommended to search for other methods that present similarities with the responses to adventitious rooting in forest species and thus optimize the rescue and propagation of plants with distinct ontogenetic stages.
文摘Background: The objective of the present study was to evaluate during one year the total delivery of volume, calories, and proteins and compare them with the total prescribed to ICU patients using ENT (Enteral Nutrition Therapy) exclusively. In addition, although our research is a difficulty reported worldwide (in most hospitals), we also provide opportunities for how the problem was solved in our case, which may contribute to other cases.
