Polybutylene succinate(PBS)fiber is a kind of synthetic fibers with excellent properties and biodegradability,which has been produced on a large scale in China.To investigate the application properties of PBS fibers,t...Polybutylene succinate(PBS)fiber is a kind of synthetic fibers with excellent properties and biodegradability,which has been produced on a large scale in China.To investigate the application properties of PBS fibers,the structure and properties were systematically studied in this paper.The microstructures and thermal properties of PBS fibers were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),thermo gravimetric(TG)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).The mechanical properties,chemical stability and dyeing properties of PBS fibers were also studied.The results show that PBS fibers areα-crystalline with a crystallinity of 58.56%.PBS fibers have an excellent thermal stability and the initial temperature of thermal degradation is 370℃.The tensile strength,the elongation at break,the elastic recovery rate at a fixed elongation(5%)and the moisture regain rate of PBS fibers are 29.57 cN/tex,90.94%,44.55%and 5.04%,respectively.The chemical stability is as follows:alkali resistance<acid resistance<oxidation resistance.PBS fibers have an excellent dye uptake by carrier dyeing of disperse dyes.展开更多
An excellent and novel flame retardant and antimicrobial agent,monochlorotriazine triethylphosphite guaridine(MCTPG),which made in the laboratory could treat cotton fabrics and dyeing with reactive dyes at the same ti...An excellent and novel flame retardant and antimicrobial agent,monochlorotriazine triethylphosphite guaridine(MCTPG),which made in the laboratory could treat cotton fabrics and dyeing with reactive dyes at the same time.The dyeing and functional property of treated cotton fabrics is characterized by five variables,each with a different effect on the final product.The best dyeing and flame retardant finishing process of reactive red K and MCTPG:2%(owf)reactive red K,250 g/L MCTPG,40 g/L NaCl,and 60 g/L Na2CO3,the fixation temperature is 90℃,and the fixation time is controlled at 60 min,with a bath ratio of 1:30.The percentage of dye uptake rate can reach 61.9%and the fixation rate is 52.8%.The treated cotton fabric has better flame retardancy and antibacterial property.The limited oxygen index(LOI)reached 26.3%,the after-flame time was 7.1 s,the char length was 65 mm,and the width of the bacteriostatic band of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus both reached 2.0 mm.展开更多

Cellulose dissolved in ionic liquid together with wrinkle proofing agent and cross-linking agent was employed as spinning solution. The properties and structure of CRCFs were investigated. Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis show that CRCFs were prepared successfully and the crystal form of the fibers remained the same before and after cross-linking. The results indicate that CRCFs prepared in this study possess more excellent wrinkle recovery ability and wash durability than those treated by finishing process.展开更多
In order to reduce the damage to tissue and fill the interstices between fibers,multifilament sutures are frequently treated with certain coating materials.The objective of this study was to create and characterize do...In order to reduce the damage to tissue and fill the interstices between fibers,multifilament sutures are frequently treated with certain coating materials.The objective of this study was to create and characterize dopamine hydrochloride(DA)and carboxymethyl chitosan(CMCS)coatings on surgical sutures and investigate their effects on the frictional performance of the surgical sutures during sliding through a skin substitute.The effects of the treatment on the physical and chemical characteristics of the surgical sutures were evaluated.The friction force of the surgical sutures during sliding through the skin substitute was experimentally determined using a penetration friction apparatus.The coefficient of friction(COF)was calculated using a linear elastic model and was used to estimate the frictional behavior of the surgical suture‐skin interactions.The results showed that the DA coating could evenly deposit on the surface of the etched multifilament surgical suture surfaces in a weakly alkaline buffer solution.The CMCS coating material could form a uniform film on the surface of the sutures.Minor changes in the surface roughness of the multifilament surgical sutures with different treatments occurred in this study.The friction force and the COF of the multifilament surgical sutures with DA and CMCS coating showed little change when compared with untreated multifilament surgical sutures.展开更多
