Glucosinolates(GSLs) and their hydrolytic products contribute to the quality traits of rapeseed flowering stalk tissues, such as taste, flavor and anticarcinogenic properties(Glucoraphanin). However, little is known about the genetic mechanisms of GSL accumulation in rapeseed flowering stalks. In this study, the variation and genetic architecture of GSL metabolites in flowering stalk tissues were investigated for the first time among a panel of 107 accessions. All GSL compounds exhibited continuous and wide variations in the present population. Progoitrin,glucobrassicanapin and gluconapin were the most abundant GSL compounds. Five quantitative trait loci(QTL) significantly associated with three GSL compounds were identified by genome-wide association study. GRA_C04 was under selected during modern breeding, in which the ratio of lower GSL haplotype(HAP2) in the accessions bred before 1990(52.56%) was significantly lower than that after 1990(78.95%). Four candidate genes, BnaA01. SOT16, BnaA06. SOT17, Bna A06. MYB51a, and Bna A06. MYB51b, were identified in the GTL_A01 and 4OH_A06 regions.These findings provide new insights into GSL biosynthesis in flowering stalk tissues and facilitate quality improvement in rapeseed flowering stalks. 展开更多

IPM is an ecosystem as a governance unit. It allows the presence of low numbers of pests because a direct or indirect relationship between biological species and their associated environmental living conditions could keep a long-term ecological balance. IPM also emphasizes overall benefits; it is necessary to integrate all kinds of safe, effective, economic, and simple managements as far as possible. When synthesizing and coordinating various managements, effective control object, effective time limit, effective scope, and effective degree of the individual method should be analysed first. The ultimate goal of IPM is for the sustainable development of agriculture. In the future IPM system engineering, crop resistance, the role of natural enemies, agricultural control, and the application of biological control technologies will be greatly strengthened, and the role of chemical pesticides will be significantly reduced. Safe, effective, and long-lasting control of pest populations will be below the level of harm caused, which could protect the ecological environment and the health of people and livestock, and promote the development of production. 展开更多

Contribution of Antioxidative Enzymes and Anoxia Responsive Genes to Submergence Tolerance in Rice: A Review

Flooding/submergence of rice fields is a severe problem in South and South-East Asia, affecting more than 20 million hectares of rice every year. Submergence creates hypoxic or anoxic condition causing poor germination, seedling establishment,and enormous yield loss. Standing water in the field from weeks to months also leads to significant yield losses when large part of aerial tissues is under water. For flash flooding, a rice variety FR1A3 with tolerant gene(SUB1A) was identified. SNORKEL1 and SNORKEL2 have been identified for their ability to survive deep-water flooding by rapid elongation. Submergence stress has also been reported to adversely affect cell division and damage cellular and organelle membranes. Research on antioxidative enzymes response and genes that confer tolerance to prolonged flooding is in progress. Here we review the different anoxia responsive genes and the potential involvement of antioxidative enzymes, such as superoxide dismutase, catalase, ascorbate peroxidase and glutathione reductase, which occur in cells of rice plant exposed to submergence stress. 展开更多

In this paper,the basic characteristics of Quanyou series of high-quality rice varieties,suitable for planting in Hubei ecological areas(except Wuling Mountain Area)and approved by the provincial government in 2020,were analyzed.The result showed that,there were 12 suitable rice varieties.From the perspective of the main body of variety breeding,the varieties were mainly selected by enterprises;Quanyou series of high-quality hybrid combinations generally had large grains per panicle and high seed setting rate,but the effective panicle number was general,and the yield per panicle contributed more in unit yield.Quanyou series of high-quality hybrid combinations can be used for the selection and breeding of varieties with good rice quality and blast resistance,but breeding varieties resistant to bacterial blight and brown planthopper should be strengthened. 展开更多
