Beam lifetime is dominated by Touschek scattering at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility(SSRF).Touschek loss rate is affected by probability for scattering beyond the RF acceptance and the volume charge density of the bench.In the phaseⅡupgrade of the SSRF,a third harmonic superconducting cavity will be used to enhance the Touschek lifetime by lengthening the bunches.The Touschek lifetime improvement factor is affected by the voltage of a harmonic cavity.To stabilize the cavity voltage,a tuning control system was designed to control it.The design of the tuning control system was based on the SSRF third-generation low-level RF control system.Some hardware and specialized algorithms were redesigned to fit the harmonic cavity control.The design of the tuning control system is complete,and the control system has been tested.The test result shows that the fluctuation of amplitude is<±0.34%within 1.5 h,which satisfies the stability requirement. 展开更多

The WC/CoCrFeNiAl0.2 high-entropy alloy(HEA)composites were prepared through high-gravity combustion synthesis.The preparation method is presented below.First,using a designed suitable multiphase thermite system,the molten CoCrFeNiAl0.2 HEA was fabricated using low-cost metal oxides.The molten HEA was subsequently infiltrated into the WC layer to fabricate WC/CoCrFeNiAl0.2 composites in a highgravity field.The porosity of the WC/CoCrFeNiAl0.2 composites was down-regulated,and their compressive yield strength was up-regulated when the high-gravity field was increased from 600g to 1500g because this infiltration process of a HEA melt into the WC layer is driven by centrifugal force.The WC particles in the composites exhibited a gradient distribution along the direction of the centrifugal force,which was attributed to the combined action of the high-gravity field and the temperature gradient field.The Vickers hardness of the sample was down-regulated from 9.53 to 7.41 GPa along the direction of the centrifugal force. 展开更多

In this paper,a model of activated carbon was established by molecular simulation and the separation performance of N2 and CH4 on activated carbon was studied.In order to evaluate the adsorption selectivity and diffusion selectivity of N2 and CH4,Grand Canonical Monte Carlo and molecular dynamic methods were used to obtain equilibrium adsorption isotherms and mean square displacements of N2 and CH4 on activated carbon with different pore sizes.Research results showed that the difference in adsorption isosteric heat of N2 and CH4 at the pore size of 0.46 nm is the largest,which is 5.759 and 7.03 kcal·mol^-1(1 cal=4.184 J),respectively.Activated carbon with pore size of 0.46 nm has the best N2 and CH4 adsorption selectivity,while its diffusion selectivity is not obvious. 展开更多

AZ91 magnesium alloy was subjected to a deep cryogenic treatment. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), and transmission electronic microscopy (TEM) methods were utilized to characterize the composition and microstructure of the treated samples. The results show that after two cryogenic treatments, the quantity of the precipitate hardening β phase increases, and the sizes of the precipitates are refined from 8-10μm to 2-4μm. This is expected to be due to the decreased solubility of aluminum in the matrix at low temperature and the significant plastic deformation owing to internal differences in thermal contraction between phases and grains. The polycrystalline matrix is also noticeably refined, with the sizes of the subsequent nanocrystalline grains in the range of 50-100 nm. High density dislocations are observed to pile up at the grain boundaries, inducing the dynamic recrystallization of the microstructure, leading to the generation of a nanocrystalline grain structure. After two deep cryogenic treatments, the tensile strength and elongation are found to be substantially increased, rising from 243 MPa and 4.4% of as-cast state to 299 MPa and 5.1%. 展开更多

The aluminum alloy scroll is one of the key parts of the scroll compressors widely used in the air-conditioning,refrigeration,and heat pump systems.In this work,the semi-solid squeeze casting(SSSC)process was used to fabricate the aluminum alloy scroll.The effects of process parameters including the pouring temperature,mold temperature,and squeezing velocity on the filling and solidification behaviors of the alloys were investigated through simulations based on the power law cut-off(PLCO)material model.Results show that there is a significant increase in the flow velocity of the slurry,and the area of the high-speed region enlarges with the increase of the pouring temperature.The homogeneity of the temperature and velocity fields in the slurry is improved with an increase in mold temperature.Both the filling time and its variation rate decrease with an increase in squeezing velocity.The maximum solidification time exhibits a linear variation with the increase in pouring temperature.The shrinkage area is decreased by increasing the mold temperature.The optimal process parameters of the SSSC process were obtained from simulation analysis,which are the pouring temperature of 595°C,mold temperature of 350°C,and squeezing velocity of 0.3 m·s-1.Moreover,the qualified scroll casting was fabricated using the SSSC process under the optimal process parameters. 展开更多

A new method of high-gravity combustion synthesis(HGCS)followed by post-treatment(PT)is reported for preparing high-performance high-entropy alloys(HEAs),Cr0.9FeNi2.5V0.2Al0.5 alloy,whereby cheap thermite powder is used as the raw material.In this process,the HEA melt and the ceramic melt are rapidly formed by a strong exothermic combustion synthesis reaction and completely separated under a high-gravity field.Then,the master alloy is obtained after cooling.Subsequently,the master alloy is sequentially subjected to conventional vacuum arc melting(VAM),homogenization treatment,cold rolling,and annealing treatment to realize a tensile strength,yield strength,and elongation of 1250 MPa,1075 MPa,and 2.9%,respectively.The present method is increasingly attractive due to its low cost of raw materials and the intermediate product obtained without high-temperature heating.Based on the calculation of phase separation kinetics in the high-temperature melt,it is expected that the final alloys with high performance can be prepared directly across master alloys with higher high-gravity coefficients. 展开更多

The Gd6Col.67Si2.5Geo.5 undergoes a reversible second-order phase transition at the Curie temperature Tc = 296 K. The high saturation magnetization leads to a large ASM and the maximal value of △SM is found to be 5.9 J/kg. K around TC for a field change of 0-5 T. A broad distribution of the △SM peak is observed and the full width at half maximum of the △SM peak is about 101 K under a magnetic field of 5 T. The large RC is found around TC and its value is 424 J/kg. 展开更多

The antiferromagnetic ordering of pure EuTiO3 can significantly change to be ferromagnetic as substitution of La (x = 0.1) and Ce (x = 0.1) ions for Eu2+ ions. The values of -ASM and RC are evaluated to be 10.8 J/(kg.K) and 51.8 J/kg for Euo.gCeo.lTiO3 and 11 J/(kg.K) and 39.3 J/kg for Euo.9Lao.lTiO3 at a magnetic field change of I0 kOe, respectively. The large low-field enhancements of --ASM and RC can be attributed to magnetic phase transition. The giant reversible MCE and large RC suggest that Euo.9Ro.ITiO3 (R = La, Ce) compounds could be promising materials in low temperature and low magnetic field refrigerants. 展开更多

An air source heat pump(ASHP)with refrigerant injection is proposed for the air conditioning system of electric vehicles(EVs),especially for efficient heating in cold winter,when there is no wasted heat of engines.The simulation model is built with the framework of two-phase fluid network,where the compressor is separated as two compressors and the economizer is treated as two heat exchangers in the injection path and the main refrigerant path.With the validated simulation model,the heating performance is analyzed,and the results show that the coefficient of performance(COP)of ASHP with refrigerant injection is higher than 1.4 and the discharge temperature is less than 100℃ when the outdoor temperature is-20℃.The above performance ensures that the air conditioning system and EVs can operate normally with high efficiency even in the cold winter,which is much helpful for the practicability of EVs. 展开更多

X-band travelling wave deflecting structure has features of higher deflecting voltage and compact structure, which has good performance at ultra-short bunch length measurement. With the potential application of Energy Recovery Linac (ERL), the superconducting (SC) cavities were developed to deliver much higher current than before. Nowadays, the current of the international SC accelerator designed has already exceeded 100 mA. This paper presents the design of a new 500 MHz 5-cell SC cavity (SINAP 5-cell cavity), in which the parameters r/Q= 515.5 of the fundamental mode and the geometry factor G=275.8 are under an acceptable Radio Frequency (RF) field level (B peak /E acc =4.31 mT/MV/m and E peak /E acc =2.48). This design employs a larger beam pipe to propagate the Higher Order Modes (HOMs) out of the cavity and increases the damping efficiently for the dangerous HOMs. By simulation technique, it has been found that almost all the dangerous HOMs (including TE 111 , TM 110 , and TM 011 ) can be propagated into the beam pipe and are absorbed by ferrite absorbers, when the beam pile is enlarged. Finally, the loss factor for the new 5-cell cavity is also calculated. 展开更多

The organic–inorganic hybrid(C2H5NH3)2 CuCl4(EA2CuCl4) single crystals are prepared by the solvothermal condition method. The x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, dielectric permittivity, pyroelectric current, and heat capacity are used to systematically investigate the electrocaloric performances of EA2CuCl4. The pyroelectric currents are measured under various voltages, and the electrocaloric effect(ECE) is calculated. Its ECE exhibits an isothermal entropy change of 0.0028 J/kg·K under an electric field of 30 kV/cm associated with a relatively broad temperature span. Further, the maximum pyroelectric coefficient(p) is 4× 10^-3 C/m^2·K and the coefficient β for generating ECE from electric displacement D is 1.068× 10^8 J·cm·K^-1·C^-2 at 240 K. Our results indicate that the ECE behavior of organic–inorganic hybrid EA2CuCl4 is in accordance with Jona and Shirane’s opinion in which the ECE should occur both below and above the Curie temperature Tc. 展开更多

The magnetic and dielectric properties of polycrystalline Cdl-~FexCr2S4 (0 〈 x ~ 0.9) are investigated. Upon substitution of Cd by Fe, the Curie temperature (Tc) is increased while the saturation magnetization is decreased. A low doping level of Fe increases the permittivity, while a high doping level decreases the permittivity, which is explained by the internal barrier layer capacitor model. Kinks are observed in the temperature-dependent permittivity and loss tangent near TC for the samples with x = 0.5, 0.7, 0.9, implying the existence of the magnetodielectric effect. Furthermore, with the increase of Fe content, a decrease of anomaly deviation rate induced by internal molecular field is revealed in the permittivity, while an increase is observed for the loss tangent. 展开更多

We investigate the structural,magnetic,and magnetocaloric effects(MCE)of Tm_(1-x)Er_(x)CuAl(x=0.25,0.5,and 0.75)compounds.The compounds undergo a second-order phase transition originating from the ferromagnetic to paramagnetic transition around 3.2 K,5 K,and 6 K,respectively.The maximum magnetic entropy changes(-△S_(M)^(max))of Tm_(1-x)Er_(x)CuAl(x=0.25,0.5,and 0.75)are 17.1 J·kg^(-1)·K^(-1),18.1 J·kg^(-1)·K^(-1),and 17.5 J·kg^(-1)·K^(-1)under the magnetic field in the range of 0-2 T,with the corresponding refrigerant capacity(RC)values of 131 J·kg^(-1),136 J·kg^(-1),and 126 J·kg^(-1),respectively.The increase of-△S_(M)^(max)for Tm0.5Er0.5CuAl may be relevant to the change of magnetic moment distribution of Er and stress coming from element substitution.This work provides several compounds that can enrich the family of giant MCE materials in the cryogenic region. 展开更多

The magnetocaloric effect of Mn,Ni,and Mn-Ni-doped EuTiO3 compounds are studied in the near-liquid-helium-temperature range.The Eu(Ti0.9375Mn0.0625)O3,Eu(Ti0.975Ni0.025)O3,and Eu(Ti0.9125Mn0.0625Ni0.025)O3 are prepared by the sol-gel method.The Eu(Ti0.9375Mn0.0625)O3 and Eu(Ti0.9125Mn0.0625Ni0.025)O3 exhibit ferromagnetism with second-order phase transition,and the Eu(Ti0.975Ni0.025)O3 displays antiferromagnetic behavior.Under the magnetic field change of 10 kOe(1 Oe=79.5775 Am-1),the values of magnetic entropy change are 8.8 Jkg-1K-1,12 Jkg-1K-1,and 10.9 Jkg-1K-1 for Eu(Ti0.9375Mn0.0625)O3,Eu(Ti0.975Ni0.025)O3,and Eu(Ti0.9125Mn0.0625Ni0.025)O3,respectively.The co-substitution of Mn and Ni can not only improve the magnetic entropy change,but also widen the refrigeration temperature window,which greatly enhances the magnetic refrigeration capacity.Under the magnetic field change of 10 kOe,the refrigerant capacity value of Eu(Ti0.9125Mn0.0625Ni0.025)O3 is 62.6 Jkg-1 more than twice that of EuTiO3(27 Jkg-1),indicating that multi-component substitution can lead to better magnetocaloric performance. 展开更多

The magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect(MCE) in EuTi1-xCoxO3(x = 0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1) compounds have been investigated. When the Ti^4+ ions were substituted by Co2+ions, the delicate balance was changed between antiferromagnetic(AFM) and ferromagnetic(FM) phases in the EuTiO3 compound. In EuTi1-xCoxO3 system, a giant reversible MCE and large refrigerant capacity(RC) were observed without hysteresis. The values of -△SM^max were evaluated to be around 10 J·kg^-1·K^-1 for EuTi0.95Co0.05O3 under a magnetic field change of 10 kOe. The giant reversible MCE and large RC suggests that EuTi1-xCoxO3 series could be considered as good candidate materials for low-temperature and low-field magnetic refrigerant. 展开更多

The present work investigates the effect of Ni on the microstructure,mechanical properties,and corrosion resistance of CoCrFeNi_(x)Al_(0.15)Ti_(0.1)high-entropy alloys.It was found that the appropriate addition of Ni element in the alloy is beneficial to reduce the average grain size of the alloy.The yield strength and tensile strength of the alloy underfine-grain strengthening have also been increased,whilethe ductility of the system in this study has not been significantly affected.In terms of corrosion resistance,CoCrFeNi_(x)Al_(0.15)Ti_(0.1)high-entropy alloys form a dense passive film at open circuit potential,possessing good corrosion resistance.However,with the excessive addition of Ni content in the alloy,the pitting corrosion resistance of the alloy in the environment of chloride ions will decrease due to the relative decrease of the relative content of Cr element.This work also canprovide guidancesfor the design and development of new precipitation-strengthened CoCrFeNi-based high-entropy alloys with excellent comprehensive properties. 展开更多
