Mesoporous MCM-41 supported Schiff base and Cu SO4· 5H2 O shows high catalytic activity in the cyclocondensation of mercaptoacetic acid with imines(or aldehydes and amines) to afford pharmaceutically important thiazolidinone derivatives. The catalytic reactions involving twocomponents or three-components afforded the desired product in high yields(up to 98% and 99%).Moreover, the catalyst works well with respect to recyclability, giving the product in 85% and 83% yields after recycling six times. 展开更多

A new, convenient and excellent yield procedure for the preparation of bis(indolyl)methanes (BIMs) by Friedel-Crafts reaction of indoles with imines in the presence of dithiocarbohydrazone Schiff base/ Zn(CIO4)2.6H2O as a highly stable, effective and readily available catalyst is described. Moderate to good yields (up to 99% yield) were obtained with both substrates for imine derivatives. This procedure is simple, practical and economic. 展开更多

In the present work, the sulfur doped bismuth-based catalysts were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation method and used for the hydrochlorination of acetylene to vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) in a fixed-bed reactor. The effect of introduction of S was characterized by N2 adsorption-desorption, powder X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, temperature-programmed reduction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The characterization results indicated that the doping of S resulted in the increase of Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface areas and decrease of active species particle size for the Bi-based catalysts, which led to more accessible active sites, and consequently boosted the catalytic hydrochlorination activity. The effect of H2SO4 concentration on the activity of this type catalyst was examined, and the results showed that there is an optimal loading of H2SO4 (S/Bi=0.5 mol/mol), at which the conversion of C2H2 was enhanced to 81% under the reaction condition and coke deposition is a main reason for the deactivation of catalyst. 展开更多

MCM-41 supported heteropoly acids (HPAs) catalysts were synthesized, characterized and their catalytic activity was evaluated in an aza-Michael addition reaction between nitroolefins and benzotriazole in water at room temperature. 50 wt% PW/MCM-41 showed the highest activity (up to 96% yield). The catalyst was used in six consecutive experiments without obvious loss of activity, confirming the success of the anchoring process and the catalyst stability. 展开更多
