Antibacterial activity of ZnO-CeO2 solid nano-powders was studied by measuring the change of sterilization efficacy to the bacterial. ZnO-CeO2 nano-powders were prepared by laser vapor condensation (LVC) with oxygen as loading gas. The size of the particle can be affected greatly by some reacting conditions such as the flow of loading gas and the reacting pressure. Rod-like powders with different molar ratios (Zn/Ce) and sizes were produced in the changed reacting conditions for studying the effects of sterilization efficacy to the bacterial. It is found that antibacterial activity of oxide powders increase with decreasing particle size and increasing ceria concentration. The changes of antibacterial action for S. aureus are similar to those for B.niger. Both the preparing mechanism of LVC and the sterilization assumption were proposed. 展开更多

Zn-Mg-Al-CO3 layered double hydroxides (LDHs) have been synthesized by a new method involving separate nucleation and aging steps. The Zn-Mg-Al-CO3 LDHs were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, ICP and TG-DTA. The limiting oxygen index and smoke density of composites of the LDHs with EVA-28 were determined. Incorporation of Zn2+ in the layers of the LDHs was found promoting mate- rial charring and smoke suppression. The mechanism of flame retardation and smoke suppression is discussed. The results show that Zn-Mg-Al-CO3 LDHs have better flame retarding and smoke suppressing effects than Mg-Al-CO3 LDHs. 展开更多

Indium tin oxide nanosized composite powder prepared using waste ITO target 被引量:3

Indium tin oxide (ITO) nano-particles were prepared directly using waste ITO target, which had been coated by magnetron controlled sputtering. The waste ITO target was cleaned with de-ionized water, and then dissolved in acid, filtrated, neutralized, manipulated through azeotropic distillation and finally dried, and in this way the precursor of indium tin hydroxide was obtained. The nanosized rio composite powder was prepared after the precursor heat-treated at 500℃ for 2 h. TEM images show a narrow distribution of particle size is 5-20 nm and the particle size can be controlled. Its granule has a spherical shape and the dispersion of the particle is well. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns indicate the only cubic In2O3 phase in the ITO powder hot-treated at 500℃. The purity of ITO composite powder is 99.9907%. The content of radium within filtrate was detected by using the EDTA titration of determination of indium in the ITO powder and ITO target. Appropriate amount of SnCl4.5H2O was dissolved in the filtrate, and then ITO powder containing 10 wt.% SnO2 was successfully prepared by heat-treating. 展开更多
