AIM:To examine the association of genetic polymorphisms(-308)G/A TNFα,(+250)A/G Ltα,(+36)A/G TNFR1,(+1663)A/G TNFR2 with the development of primary open angle glaucoma(POAG)among people in Central Russ...AIM:To examine the association of genetic polymorphisms(-308)G/A TNFα,(+250)A/G Ltα,(+36)A/G TNFR1,(+1663)A/G TNFR2 with the development of primary open angle glaucoma(POAG)among people in Central Russia.METHODS:The study sample included 443 individuals,of which 252 patients with POAG and 191 individuals in the control group.Genotyping of(-308)G/A TNFα,(+250)A/G Ltα,(+36)A/G TNFR1,(+1663)A/G TNFR2 was performed using polymerase chain reaction.The distribution of alleles and genotypes of the studied DNA markers in the groups was examined by 2×2 contingency tables andχ2with the Yates’s correction for continuity and odds ratios(OR)with95%confidence intervals(CI).RESULTS:Allele(-308)G TNFα(Р=0.01,OR=1.78,95%CI1.12-2.85)was identified as a risk factor for POAG.Homozygotes(-308)AA TNFαare at a lowest risk for development of the disease(Р=0.01,OR=0.0005).The following combination of genetic variants of cytokines were associated with a reduced risk of POAG:(+1663)A TNFR2 and(+250)G Ltα(OR=0.34)CONCLUSION:Genetic polymorphisms(-308)G/A TNFα,(+250)A/G Ltα,(+1663)A/G TNFR2 associated with the development of POAG in the population of Central Russia.展开更多
Acridone derivatives are widespread in nature and known to be capable of having a variety of biological activities, but there is not any information on the acridone series compounds in relation to higher fungi, includ...Acridone derivatives are widespread in nature and known to be capable of having a variety of biological activities, but there is not any information on the acridone series compounds in relation to higher fungi, including edible mushrooms available in literature at all. Research into the character of the mode of action of these substances on various living systems is necessary to elucidate the possible unfavorable biological consequences and improve measures on their ecological safety. In this work, the effect of acridone-N-acetic acid on mushroom mycelial growth was tested and the culture of basidiomycete Lentinula edocles (shiitake) has been used. The influence of acridone additive upon the fungal mycelium growth on liquid (submerged) and agar media was examined within the wide concentration range of acridone carboxy-derivative. The results obtained testify to the relative ecological safety of these substances for mushroom organism, and to the mycelial growth promoting capability of acridone-N-acetic acid at favorable concentrations, both under the solid-phase and liquid-phase culture conditions. In fact, the very first step toward the investigation into the systems "macromycete-acridone series compound" has been made.展开更多

Methods Results of autologous mononuclear fraction of bone marrow in 90 laboratory Wistar rats on a background of creating chronic limb ischemia was presented. Sampling was carried out from the bone marrow of the femur of the animal. The mononuclear fraction of bone marrow autologous 4 × 106 cells in a volume of 200 microliter were injected into the ischemic limb of the two points,in each of which 100 microliter:(1)Paravessel directly below the inguinal ligament at the level of the sacroiliac joint in the area of the anatomical location of collaterals in the projection of the internal iliac artery and its branches;(2)Intramuscularly in gastrocnemius muscle anterior-lateral surface of the middle third of the leg. Results In the experimental group of rats treated with autologous mononuclear fraction of bone marrow,the level of microcirculation compared with the intact group of animals on day 21 was higher than 6. 1% by day 28% ~ 31. 2%; compared with the control group-day 10 increased by 111% at day 21,85. 7% on day 28% ~ 97%. Conclusion Proposed method of treating pathogenically justified and can be recommended for use in clinical practice in the treatment of patients with chronic obliterating diseases of lower limb arteries.展开更多

This review of soil erosion(SE)studies in Russia focuses on two main tasks:(i)ensuring the completeness and reliability of SE data in Russia,a large country(17.1 million km2)with a variety of natural and socio-economi...This review of soil erosion(SE)studies in Russia focuses on two main tasks:(i)ensuring the completeness and reliability of SE data in Russia,a large country(17.1 million km2)with a variety of natural and socio-economic causes of land degradation,(ii)assessing the possibility of including a SE indicator among the indicators of land degradation neutrality(LDN).A wide range of statistical,remote sensing,mathematical modeling data.the results of scientific and field studies obtained at different levels were analyzed.It is asserted that in Russia the total area of eroded lands and those under erosion risk occupy more than 50%of all agricultural lands,whereas soil fertility of croplands decreased in Soviet time(from 1950s to 1980s)by 30-60%only due to water erosion.However,recent scientific studies indicate a decrease in erosion rate and in the area of eroded land during the last 30-40 years as a result of abandonment of arable land and subsequent overgrown with natural vegetation.The climate change resulting in decrease of the depth of soil freezing,flow of spring runoff also adds to the decrease of soil erosion.The SE indicator was suggested as an important complement to three global LDN indicators.At national and subnational level,it can be interpreted through such indices as"Rate of soil loss"(ton ha-1 yr-1)and"Total soil loss"(1000 tons,in certain area during selected time period).At local level the set of indices can be wider and site-specific,including those obtained through remote sensing data by using the classifier of thematic applications of remote sensing technologies;the example was tested at the local site.展开更多
Objective:This study aimed to develop expert fuzzy logic model to assist physicians in the prediction of postoperative complications of prostatic hyperplasia before surgery.Methods:A method for classification of surgi...Objective:This study aimed to develop expert fuzzy logic model to assist physicians in the prediction of postoperative complications of prostatic hyperplasia before surgery.Methods:A method for classification of surgical risks was developed.The effect of rotation of the current–voltage characteristics at biologically active points(acupuncture points)was used for the formation of classifier descriptors.The effect determined reversible and non-reversible changes in electrical resistance at acupuncture points with periodic exposure to a sawtooth probe current.Then,the developed method was tested on the prediction of the success of surgical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.Results:Input descriptors were obtained from collected data including current-voltage characteristics of 5 acupuncture points and composed of 27 arrays feeding in the model.The maximum diagnostic sensitivity of the classifier for the success of a surgical operation in the control sample was 88%and for testing data set prediction accuracy was 97%.Conclusion:The use of tuples of current-voltage characteristic descriptors of acupuncture points in the classifiers could be used to predict the success of surgical treatment with satisfactory accuracy.The model can be a valuable tool to support physicians’diagnosis.展开更多
