There were no publications because the patent was secreted. Moreover, necessary quality of membranes--high negative selectivity and apparatus for this process was provided only in 2000s (patented in 2008). Technology of direct osmosis is able to solve a number of problems of industry, such as extracting of rare elements (Re, Ge, U, etc.) from natural and manufacturing water. The authors need to mention that direct osmosis makes possible to create rentable technology of greenhouse gases trapping and burying. It will be shown in the next article. And this article is about the basic idea--nonequivalent ion transfer through semipermeable membrane or direct osmosis.展开更多
