Most author hold that the process is initiated by the damage of hepatic cells (HCs), which leads to activation and secretion of multiple cellular factors of Kupffer cells. These factors, along with the cellular factors secreted by damaged HCs, thrombocytes and endothelial cells of the hepatic sinusoid, and some chemical mediators are activators of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs). Being activated, HSCs differentiate into myofibroblasts, and, via self-secretion and parasecretion, proliferate and synthesize a massive amount of extracellular materials which gradually accumulate and lead to formation of liver fibrosis.1 Since fibrosis is a common course in a variety of chronic liver diseases, prevention against its formation is of great importance. Mechanisms of Diabetic IR in TCM Terms
Action of insulin antagonizing hormones in peripheral tissues is one of the causes of diabetic IR. Cyclic nucleosides cAMP and cGMP, important intracellular messengers, are considered to be the second messenger of insulin, and cAMP is related to the amount of insulin receptors. Early in 1980s, some authors investigated the relationship among the symptoms of diabetes and such hormones and cAMP/cGMP ratio. Although they did not give due attention to IR, their studies provided evidences for differentiation of symptoms and signs in IR typing.展开更多
Eighty-seven cases of intermediate and late rheumatoid arthritis were treated with Instant Shu GuanWen Jing Granules(疏关温经冲剂 Relaxing Joints by Warming Channels)and Instant Shu GuanQing Luo Granules(疏光清络冲剂 ...Eighty-seven cases of intermediate and late rheumatoid arthritis were treated with Instant Shu GuanWen Jing Granules(疏关温经冲剂 Relaxing Joints by Warming Channels)and Instant Shu GuanQing Luo Granules(疏光清络冲剂 Relaxing Joints by Removing Heat from the Lung Channel)totonify the kidney resolve phlegm and remove blood stasis,and compared with 41 cases treated withInstant Wang Bi Granules(尪痹冲剂 Prescription for Arthralgia-syndrome).The treatment produceda clinical cure rate of 54.0% and a total effective rate of 90.8% as in against 29.3% and 73.2%respectively in the control group.The difference was significant(P<0.01).Improvement in mainsymptoms and laboratory findings in the treatment group was all more marked than that in thecontrol group (P<0.05 or P<0.01),with no side effects observed.展开更多
