Based on improved Cournot model and Stackelberg model,this paper analyzes the firstmover advantage of China Mobile which is in a dominant position;then,by using complete information dynamic game,this paper analyzes the market shares of the oligarchic monopoly market of the mobile communications industry before the restructuring of the telecom industry and tests the analysis conclusion;at the same time,this paper analyzes the market shares in initial stage and mature stage of the mobile communications market after the restructuring.According to the analysis of this paper,China Mobile's market share will drop after the restructuring,the restructuring has a certain effect,but China Mobile is still in a leading position.Whether the duopoly market before the restructuring or the three oligopoly market after the restructuring,every mobile operator has a relatively fixed market share under stable condition.This shows that mobile operators in China should cooperate on the basis of competition when developing the domestic market,and explore the international market to achieve greater development. 展开更多

This paper studies the optimal policy for joint control of admission, routing, service, and jockeying in a queueing system consisting of two exponential servers in parallel.Jobs arrive according to a Poisson process.Upon each arrival, an admission/routing decision is made, and the accepted job is routed to one of the two servers with each being associated with a queue.After each service completion, the servers have an option of serving a job from its own queue, serving a jockeying job from another queue, or staying idle.The system performance is inclusive of the revenues from accepted jobs, the costs of holding jobs in queues, the service costs and the job jockeying costs.To maximize the total expected discounted return, we formulate a Markov decision process(MDP) model for this system.The value iteration method is employed to characterize the optimal policy as a hedging point policy.Numerical studies verify the structure of the hedging point policy which is convenient for implementing control actions in practice. 展开更多

Ensemble Classifier-Based Features Ranking on Employee Attrition

The departure of good employee incurs direct and indirect cost and impacts for an organization.The direct cost arises from hiring to training of the relevant employee.The replacement time and lost productivity affect the running of business processes.This work presents the use of ensemble classifier to identify important attributes that affects attrition significantly.The data consists of attributes related to job function,education level,satisfaction towards work and working relationship,compensation,and frequency of business travel.Both bagging and boosting classifiers were used for testing.The results show that the selected features(nine selected features)achieve the same result as the full features.The selected features are age,income,working years,source of employment,years since last promotion,salary hike,and business travelling frequency.These features were selected using ensemble classifiers.Satisfaction on work and relationship do not appear to be significant attributes in attrition from ensemble classifier’s results. 展开更多

对目前网络拍卖进行研究发现,在线多属性采购拍卖的实施水平仍处在基础的信息发布阶段。基于委托代理模型的参与约束和激励相容约束,通过改进多属性决策的一般方法,提出一种以释放权重信息为核心的在线多属性采购拍卖设计机制。拍卖设... 对目前网络拍卖进行研究发现,在线多属性采购拍卖的实施水平仍处在基础的信息发布阶段。基于委托代理模型的参与约束和激励相容约束,通过改进多属性决策的一般方法,提出一种以释放权重信息为核心的在线多属性采购拍卖设计机制。拍卖设计的第一阶段融入谈判机制以协商拍卖的属性规则,确定多维拍卖的属性选择;第二阶段通过投标人提供的属性赋值和权重设置确定赢者的胜出。为开发实际的在线网络采购或供应链管理平台,进一步提出基于多Agent系统的多属性采购拍卖的技术实现框架。通过一个简单的二维属性拍卖的例证分析,说明该机制可以增进拍卖双方信息的正向交互,实现拍卖机制的最优,并可以通过多Agent系统提高在线拍卖的效率。 展开更多

Monitoring and Limiting Deceptive Counterfeiting:a Two-Stage Model

Over past decades,deceptive counterfeits which cannot be recognized by ordinary consumers when purchasing,such as counterfeit cosmetics,have posed serious threats on consumers’health and safety,and resulted in huge economic loss and inestimable brand damages to the genuine goods at the same time.Thus,how to effectively control and eliminate deceptive counterfeits in the market has become a critical problem to the local government.One of the principal challenges in combating the cheating action for the government is how to enhance the enforcement of relative quality inspection agencies like industrial administration office(IAO).In this paper,we formulate a two-stage counterfeit product model with a fixed checking rate from IAO and a penalty for holding counterfeits.Tominimize the total expected cost over two stages,the retailer adopts optimal ordering policies which are correlated with the checking rate and penalty.Under certain circumstances,we find that the optimal expected cost function for the retailer is first-order continuous and convex.The optimal ordering policy in stage two depends closely on the inventory level after the first sales period.When the checking rate in stage one falls into a certain range,the optimal ordering policy for the retailer at each stage is to order both kinds of products.Knowing the retailer’s optimal ordering policy at each stage,IAO can modify the checking rate accordingly to keep the ratio of deceptive counterfeits on the market under a certain level. 展开更多

This paper examined the innovation process in the Australian Public Service(APS)using a Bayesian network(BN)founded on an empirically derived structural equation model.The focus of the BN was to examine the impact of leadership style and organisational culture on workplace innovation and career satisfaction in the APS.Using scenario analysis,the best combination of managerial actions for enhancing APS career satisfaction was determined.The results emphasise the benefit of encouraging management to adopt a transformational leadership style and instilling innovative culture in their organisation.In addition,innovative culture was a key driver of workplace innovation,which served to improve the career satisfaction of APS employees.Implications are discussed to propose practical strategies for organisations wish to encourage innovation among employees. 展开更多
