The results indicate that the base metal and weld seam of 0Cr11NbTi steel exhibit better intergranular and condensate corrosion resistant properties because carbon and nitrogen are stabilized by Nb and Ti, and the precipitation of Cr carbide is retarded in grain boundaries.展开更多

This steel product exhibits excellent corrosion resistance superior to that of SUS 316L with a lower cost. It can be easily formed into roofing panels by ordinary processes. Moreover,the thermal strain of it is less than SUS 316L because of its lower thermal expansion coefficient, and its reflectivity is lower due to the dull-finish treatment. All of these features make it capable of being used as architectural roofing materials in coastal regions.展开更多

The results of the Thermo-calc simulation have shown th...The effect of stabilizing elements, such as Nb and Ti, on the microstructure and properties of low carbon ferritic stainless steel (FSS) has been investigated. The results of the Thermo-calc simulation have shown that the interstitial elements, such as C and N, may be completely stabilized by the addition of Nb and Ti. With the increase of Nb and Ti contents ,the α + γ two phases gradually transfer to a single α-phase under a high temperature condition ,and the content of the carbide M23 C6 gradually decreases. The microstructure has indicated that the combined addition of Nb and Ti can promote the recrystallization of the band structure and form more uniform equiaxed grains. Also, with the increase of Nb and Ti contents,the elongation, the r-value and the corrosion resistance of cold-rolled and annealed sheets are improved prominently. In comparison with the effect of Ti ,the addition of Nb is more beneficial to the increase of r-value and the corrosion resistance.展开更多

The hightemperature...Austenitic stainless steel Cr20 Ni12 Si2 RE was developed for use in hot-end components of automobile exhaust systems,especially in automobiles designed according to the China VI emission standard. The hightemperature oxidation kinetic curve of Cr20 Ni12 Si2 RE at 1 050 ℃ was obtained using the weighting method. The oxidation curves exhibit the parabolic law at 1 050 ℃; after 250 h of oxidation,the mass gain was 22 g/m^2. The morphology,structure,and composition of the oxide film were examined using scanning electron microscopy and Xray diffraction methods. A thin,stable,and dense spinel oxide film obtained after 250 h of oxidation at 1 050 ℃ was mainly composed of( Mn_(0.87)Fe_(0.13))( Mn_(0.13)Fe_(0.87)Cr) O_4 and Cr_2 O_3 with a silicon-containing oxide underneath. The addition of rare earth elements was found to restrict further diffusion of metallic atoms from the austenite toward the oxide film,and consequently,led to a low growth rate of the oxide film. The inner silicon-containing oxide was produced by the diffusion of oxygen atoms and enhanced the coherent strength of the oxide film.展开更多
An increasing number of annealing furnaces have recently been using cheaper and cleaner natural gas (NG) instead of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as fuel gas.However,the fuel gas of the furnaces often needs to be ...An increasing number of annealing furnaces have recently been using cheaper and cleaner natural gas (NG) instead of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as fuel gas.However,the fuel gas of the furnaces often needs to be changed when NG supply is not adequate or when LPG becomes cheaper.Usually,changing the fuel gas involves changing various equipment as well as control parameters for instruments and the control system and hence is time consuming.Therefore,it is important to develop a quick process for changing fuel gas.This study discusses the techniques for quickly changing fuel gas in an annealing furnace.These techniques deal with the design of the pipe,valve and burner,the selection of the flow meter and the flow control valve,the switch of the software and parameters for the control system,as well as the operation,commissioning and hot test of the furnace when the fuel gas is changed.Using these techniques,it is possible to change fuel gas in 6 h.展开更多
